Hi
Got an iPhone and had a true contract and i could send MMS, today i changed to AIS and my MMS has gone,(had enough of NO service from True), AIS say that you cant have it on an iPhone, anybody have it, or maybe a program, BTW my phone is an unlocked model from HK so no jailbreak please.
Thx guys.
Hi
You can have MMS on the iphone with AIS, it was working for me until last week or so ( if you look on this forum, you will find how ), but for some reason, it is now not working any more. If it lasts a bit longer, I will try to contact their hotline, but as usual, I don't expect much help from there...

My actual speaker setup is composed of Mordaunt-Short Avant 906i ( front, floostanders ), M-S Avant 905i ( center ) and M-S Avant 902i ( rear, on stands). For some reason, they are not on Piyanas site, but I believe they have them available. There is a matching Sub woofer ( Avant 309i )
You can see them on Mordaunt-Short website

Very wise tip. Indeed take your favorite movies and CD's and go listen around, and trust your ears. Mind you, the best woud be to test the equipment in your own home, as the results will most probably very different than what you will hear in the shop....
You can go to
http://whathifi.com/ for reviews
and to
http://www.piyanas.com/en/index.ph
for a very comprehensive list of equipemnt available in BGK.
I have an Onkyo TX-SR503 AV receiver with an Onkyo DV-SP504 DVD reader ( because I wanted it to be able to read SACD's), and an all Mordaunt-Short speaker set, except for the sub which also is from Onkyo.. This receiver is not the latest nor the punchiest model, but it is more than enough ( enough inputs and outputs ) for my living room and watching The Lord Of The Rings at half volume fills the room....I have been able to connect my old LP player to it through a phono preamp, and it's working very well.
Good luck.

You may check if your Nokia is there...
http://www.funambol.com/solutions/devices_nokia.php
or find a solution here...
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-repli...fm/1260868.html
Anyway I am sure you can find something on the web that will work..

Now I have to learn how I can get all of my contacts (1000+) from my dinoasaur nokia to the iphone. Any ideas?
Hi
You can try my.funambol.com or google funambol .
I don't know if it will work for your Nokia, but it did work to transfer my contacts from Outlook to my iphone. It is free, so you can give it a try... Anyway it is good to back up your contacts once you will have managed to put them in your 3Gs.
Good luck.

I don't remember when was the last time I sent one mms , but I am sure it did work until a few days ago.
Anyone of you having the same problem ? I rechecked my network parameters and rebooted my iphone , but mms are not sent....
Cheers.

It eventually worked at the 4th attempt. The redsn0w I was using the last time had a much simpler way to switch to DFU.
The tweaking is just beginning...

I also have received my ebay-purchased 3Gs recently, and have failed 3 attempts to jailbreak it with with redsn0w ( I have done it on a 3G before without problems ), each time stuck during the process, the timing is tricky to switch to DFU mode. I can restaure the firmware with itunes but it takes time.
I am trying one final time and will bring it to a shop if I fail again, never mind the few hundreds bahts...

MMS:
APN: multimedia
MMSC: http://mms.mobilelife.co.th
MMS Proxy: 203.170.229.34:8080
This is what I was looking for, just put it in, reboot, et voila, mms working...

I was able to get tethering to work, and it's actually quite fast. See this link:
You will enter your carrier info and your email and receive a settings file. Retrieve the email from your iPhone and open the settings file and install it.
Also, I've found the correct settings for MMS on AIS and sending and receiving MMS now works. Under Settings>Network>Cellular Data Network, here is what you need:
Cellular Data:
APN: internet (all other fields blank)
Visual Voicemail:
APN: internet (all other fields blank)
MMS:
APN: multimedia
MMS Proxy: 203.170.229.34:8080
(all other fields blank)
Note: I ran the tethering file received from iphone-notes.de first, before entering and verifying the above settings.
I can now tether via USB or Bluetooth and can send and receive MMS.
Hi Bubba
Thanks for putting up this information
Internet Tethering: working - great!
MMS: I have all the settings and rebooted the phone - working now - great!!!
Visual Voicemail: Do you have this working on AIS with the iPhone? I cannot seem to get it going but see your entry (and I have it too) - can you please advise if you got it going, how you did?
Thanks
Sojan
Hi all
I just received my 3G with v 3.0, I have been able to activate internet tethering but no luck with mms.
I have input the parameters described above, and rebooted, but still cannot see mms feature. Am I missing something ?
Thanks

Samsung NC10 has my vote - but I couldn't find it in Thailand. Otherwise, the Acer Aspire One, Asus EEE or Benq Joybook are ok, but the battery life is much shorter.
I bought an Asus 1000HE a few weeks ago, this is my 3rd Asus netbook after the 701 and 900, battery life is good and the machine is very nice, at least for my use ( typing this on it at the moment ) , comfortable 10" screen, nice keyboard ( I type with 2 fingers..) and still very portable despite a weight slightly superior to other netbooks, due to the battery size. I still can use the bag I bought for my 701 which was a 7" netbook.
There might be better models now, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

But don't upgrade to 3.0 unless you know what you are doing.
That's exactly my concern... Although I am quite sure I will try it sooner or later...
I will have a look on that modmyi forum, thanks for the info.

Hi again
I know about Cydia and it is on my Iphone. I am just a bit hesitant to upgrade to 3.0 as I would hate to loose everything I have installed so far...
After upgrading, will Itunes accept to restore my last sync ? Should I accept Itunes request to upgrade to 3.0 or do it another way ? Which way would you recommennd ?
Thanks.

3.0 is still a massive upgrade for 2g owners. I'm loving it. Would love internet tethering and mms even more though.
Bossprefs is dead, the new thing to turn off edge/wifi and whatever else you want is SBSETTINGS. It works great, installed it just in time to stop my edge minutes going over my monthly limit by themselves.
I hear and read great things about SB settings . How did you install it on your Iphone ? Mine is 3G / 8 Gb on V. 2.2.1 , from the US.
Thanks

Hi
I have been a microsoft-based smartphone user for many years ( E-Ten M500 / Dopod 838pro / Asus p750 / HTC TYTNII / HTC Touch HD ) until I ordered a 2nd hand Iphone on eBay.
I always swore I would never buy an Iphone, but here I am, and I must say I love it, despite all its limitations and shortcomings.
The beauty of it is all these apps available for just about anything. There are a lot of Windows Mobile available as well, and I have used a lot, but nothing compares to all the apps you can find for the Iphone.
Sure Itunes is a pain in the butt, and with a jailbroken and unlocked Iphone, you have to play hide and seek with Apple, but still I do not regret my purchase, I have even ordered a 2nd one yesterday...
The new HTC Hero coming soon looks interesting as well, I will probably end up buying an Android phone one of these days to try it... The HTC Touch HD has a great screen but the 6.1 version of WM is not good ( for me ), maybe 6.5 or 7 will be better...
Cheers

Hi
I recently bought a used Bose QC3 on eBay, and used it on my last trip back to France and back, I have been through a few models already and this is the best so far, not perfect, but comfortable and with an effective noise cancelling capability.
The battery never died, but I carried a spare one anyway. I even kept them on without music to muffle the ambiant noise, amazing. Only bad point, when the battery dies, you can't listen to music anymore. There is a Singaporean guy on eBay who carries all kind of accessories for it, in case you lose or break one...

I don't have 3.0 yet but this is the way to get tethering to work - use your iPhone, and point it here:
Then, click on AIS or DTAC. Then, tethering works.
Hi Nikster
That looked too simple... I just tried, Safari says it cannot download that file ...
How did you do it ?
Phil
OOps, just realised it needed v 3.0, sorry...

Hi
This does not really answer your question, but after having been reading reviews on internet, I have bought my AKG K701 on eBay and I am delighted with it ( about 250 USD )
There is a tiny shop on the ground floor ( not basement ) selling headphones and quality headphones amplifiers, but it is easy to miss as it is really small. They do have Sennheiser too, but I don't know if they would have the model you are looking for.
Hope this helps.
Phil
Ooops, sorry, posting too quickly, I should have precised ground floor of Fortune..

Would anybody know where it I could scan rather large documents ?
They are not standard size, something between A3 and A2.
Thanks

Hi all!
I'm looking for a 60 CX Garmin GPS in CNX...
Where to purchase? Panthip Plaza or what?..
Thanks,
Gobs
Try this link, their shop is at Panthip, and I believe they have the 60 Cx. Rather expensive compared to prices on eBay.

Hi
There a tiny shop in Fortune selling headphones and headphones amplifiers, I know for sure that they have Sennheiser's and Akg's, as I went there to try some ( I ended up buying nine on eBay, Sennheiser PCX250, not an in ear model )
Sorry, you will have to browse around as I cannot remember for sure on what floor they are, and they are easy to miss. I would say ground or 1st floor...
Cheers.

Mms On Iphone With Ais
in Mobile Devices and Apps
Posted
Well, it is working on mine, and my girlfriend's, after fiddling with it yesterday ( for some reason , the line "APN " in MMS setting had reverted to "internet") , I put back "multimedia" and it seems to do the trick...
I just sent one successfully. AIS Hotline is useless, I can't even understand what the young lady is telling (in English ) anyway...
