  1. Many moons back I repaired one of these chlorinators with integral clock and recall a connection between the 220v clock contacts and the main PCB. This would be to signal the electronic control that pump is on so start making chlorine.

My guess is that there is a low current leak from the PCB circuit to the pump output connection which is enough to chatter the contactor. This might be worse when the electronics has the cell powered up and the clock goes off.

My suggestion would be make sure the live and neutral of the whole system is connected correctly and the chlorinator is properly grounded so that any filter circuits dont go looking for alternate paths.

Install a tank and a pump.

Every house I have lived in in thailand has had this set up.

Have the tank filled once and have mains feed keep tank full with a ball valve.

Then he will have two tanks.

Roofer for 50 years so I do know a little about the subject,

Roofers dont really exist in LOS. The roofing hat is handed to whoever is free at the time.

If decent quality valley trays are installed and supported correctly along the length they do not leak or allow heavy monsoon rain to seep over their edge.

The common method of throwing lengths of bent tin down the valley will often fail during heavy rain.

The same applies to the ridge where Thai workers often leave a huge gap in the tiles and attempt to fill with mountains of cement and a cap that barely closes the gap.

    Really? Don't listen to aunt.

Aunt said the Thesaban are spraying gates and doors and playing a tune, I added the apparently.

I will continue to listen to Aunt.

Don't you need some special licence and documents to drive a truck like that around Thailand ? it certainly doesn't have Thai number plates.

A touring biker from AUS once told me Thailand is not a signatory to the carnet system which means they must have some other method of providing temporary documentation and insurance for these vehicles.

The government has postponed Songkran. Businesses have nothing to do with it. So,there are no national holidays 13-15 April.

Not everyone is clear about if the holiday was cancelled or only the celebration. This is the reason for the question in the OP and why I quoted the muppet in post #2.

Some banks for example have not updated the call center message leaving many believing branches are closed when they are actually open due to cancelled holiday.

We have shut down our packing shed for three days at request of the machine operators who want to stay home with family during the new year period. They of course will not have these days in the bank for later use.

While it is probably useless for the most part (especially considering the low number of infections around here) it may have far more value for it's appearance than it's substance.

Yes its all about appearance and keeping the back pocket cash flowing.

  9. Your refrigerator will almost certainly be using sensors to send temperature values to its electronic control. There can be several sensing points depending on the control complexity.

These sensors change their resistance value as temperature changes and can go faulty or suffer from poor connection. The electronic controller will normally show fault if the sensor is providing unusual values but not in all conditions.

I suggest you let Samsung service check the control system.

Pool pump and house pump shouldnt6be connected in anyway.

If house pump running would be nothing to do with pool.

Pool pump should be on a timer or manual switch easy to control.

Be small leak in blue pipe somewhere look about  for leaks.

Crazy setups actually exist in LOS.

    Example.

Pool surge tank gets topped up via a ballcock which is supplied from the house water pump. The surge tank level will drop when pool pump starts and begin topping up via the ballcock. If the pool is losing lots of water the top up period will be significant. The house pump will likely short cycle as the ballcock closes.

Dear Fruit Trader, I found an old thread where you provided ExAPert advice on my Contactor and Thermal overload.

The short story was that I bought a 2 HP pump box completely wired with contactor and overload. Seems the 2 HP box was not for a 2 HP motor as the contactor and overload were the incorrect values.

You would choose a thermal overload where the center of the range is around the full load current of your pump motor. The TH-T18 (7 to 11 A) already mentioned is a good choice.

As most overloads are designed for 3 phase detection it is important to wire them correctly when used on single phase to avoid imbalance detection.

Personally I would not worry much about the pumps built in protection if overload protection back at the control panel is sized and set correctly.

Would have thought a Merc would have "cheaper" protection against that...????

Do some research on the part actual cost..

The fuse links are cheap but the complete module that contains several links can cost $500 +
Its a big win in the spare parts dept when a dealer says they cant service the module.

    $3 Pre fuse link

Im wondering when i take the step and build my own house here, what do i need to do to avoid those things?

    Big water tanks? Bigger heaters?

If you are looking for that five star power shower drenching in all bathrooms, one way is to store hot water and pump hard.
