  1. Thanks very much.

More or less - to get an idea if this direction is worth it - how much everything should cost ? is it in the >10K or >30K ?

Is this something that get a lot of "denied" stamps or have a good success rates?

Most important - can any type of company get registered ? even if I sell snacks online ? (I AM NOT)

Again, wondering what is the catch here ? otherwise everyone here would use it..

  2. Trying to read everywhere and can not get a coherent clear consistent information about the single entry B.

I am talking about the visa where I don't work for someone but have my own business.

Things I still don't get about this visa :

    1. What type of business can we applied with? an online business with customers in Thailand that already have revenue to show is good ?

    2. What do we really need to show in order to get it? they say "show a registered business" but how can we register it without a visa ?

    3. What are more or less the total costs ? i read online that total is around 10-15k, but a friend said its 40-50k (for 2 partners)

    4. Do we must leave the country to make the single entry business visa(we are here and have 2 months now) ?

    5. How long it really take? is it really 3 days as Thai government say ?

    Thanks.

  3. What is a formal school ? Does anyone really know? I couldn’t find other than university what’s a “real school” means.

We must attend 80% of time by law. If officer come and I am not there it may be the 20% I am allowed to not be there. (?)

We also allowed to leave country for 2 weeks, also to have private lessons, or just to be sick - so this officer visit seems

not so effective in those cases.

Also — giving 1-3 hours a week of my time to get quite seems reasonable, and if you are here for 6+ months you usually rent a house in 1 place anyway I think.

Are there other solutions equivalent (money wise ) for the ED visa? Is business visa can be cheaper ?

  4. Why you call it non ED if it’s made for educational purposes? The school call it ED visa (?)

How can you get “formal” ED visa without leaving the country?

If it’s so easy why most people here still deal with visa runs instead of 1 year ED?

Money for this visa is almost the same as all flights and buses and time spent for a few visa runs. What am I missing ?

  5. We are about to begin the ED visa process.

We are doing it in The Gulf (islands), and I have a few questions regarding the possible risks because it’s not cheap.

    1. I read here they “don’t do visa but gives you papers to do it aboard” - it’s true- but they said THEY send our application to the government then give it back to us and WE go out of TH to get our passport stamped.

Does it mean that we will get it for sure after they already apply with the IO in Surathani? Is the decision already made before we leave TH with the papers or only outside when we by our selves?

    2. Is there a way to get it while inside TH without leaving the country?

    3. They said we don’t have to come to lessons, it’s English so Thai can’t test us. Are there any other risks not coming?

    4. Are there any cases when ED application was denied because we already have a few SETVs? Or is this one more simple?

    Thanks!

  6. So I thought I will tell you how it went.

    1. Cambodia visa office (leaving the country) is hell. Many people, every guy spend 15 (!!) minutes to only leave this fck country, they work slow they are stupid, they take photos and fingers and what’s not. They took bribe 10usd from my gf from Vietnam only to leave their country.

    2. You walk to the Thai border- a new world. Quite, organize, no problems no questions, smiles and your are in.

Some more bribe inside to the Cambodian who carry your bags.

Bus right to Bangkok(happy I did that)

    Thats it.

    Cambodia is awful.

    Thailand is great.

  7. Thanks, so we will book in SV the night before.

Think we will make the effort and keep going Bangkok to spend the night there.

Out of curiosity - is the computer at the immigration land border connected to the main system ?

Do they see my history ?

Actually why they are easier at the land borders ? its still the same passport with the same history.

  8. Hi, with the help of people here we are about to go to this border and I made some plan I would like to review here.

From Kampot - we drive 2 hours to Sihanoukville. (Is it better doing it from PP?)

From Sihanoukvill we take a bus 8am to the border at Koh Kong and leave Cambodia.

Go into Thai border pay $30 visa, or is it $45 if you “don’t have a certain docs” ?

(what docs do we need ? 20k Thai?)

A minibus to Trat from there — or a bus to Bangkok 4-5 hours.

    ————

    - is there a bus I can book right in Sihanoukville or in the border that take care of everything and wait at the border going to Bangkok directly ?

    - is there something we should know/bring/say at this border if asked? (Been 6mo In TH last year)

    - Do all nationalities get same num of days for the visa at this border? (My gf is Vietnamese)

    Thanks a lot.

  9. Keep asking what am I doing in Kampot if I want a visa to Thailand, maybe I just.... wanted to be in Kampot? And not that stupid as you might think?

Maybe I asked about PP AFTER I went there? God.

the one you all say I should listen to, he said go by airplane you will be fine because last entrance was 2 months ago.

and at the same time you advice me go to the border.

So? Am I that stupid to keep asking?

    i am still confused.

  10. Thanks all of you for making fun of a couple in trouble, that ask a lot because the conflicting info here.

    That makes me sad.

What amazing is that even though it looks like all of you one hand against my stupidity, you all keep providing conflicting information.

One “expert” says I am scared for no reason and I should be fine in BKK, the others say I will have a problem with 2 SETV from 2018.

Reason I keep asking is because everyday I read another “expert” with a different opinion.

if you where serious and “smart” as you think you are(not a rocket science) you would already have a REAL statistics for each case, at least based on the data here.

That should be a very simple software to write based on simple time frame statistics but I don’t think it’s for you.

Your head is somewhere there in the sky because you are “an expert for living in TH”. And I spend your time.

Thanks for the “help” and patience.

Try at least to set up one single line with each other regarding your opinions otherwise don’t complain that people keep asking.

Will not bother the “expert” anymore.

They must be busy with their Thai girls.

  11. 20 hours ago, elviajero said:

No they don’t! There are a handful of reports from millions of entries. A few people get denied, and some get questioned.

In the unlikely event that you get questioned a hotel booking and onward flight is what they will expect to see.

My understanding is that you only stayed two weeks last time, and have been out of the country a few weeks; in which case you shouldn’t have a problem using visa exemption again. Immigration are mostly interested in the time spent in the country and trying to stop people living full time as a ‘tourist’.

Getting a visa would reduce the chances of being questioned or denied entry, but IMO — based on your post — you shouldn’t have a problem entering using visa exemption at either Bangkok airport.

How after all of that did you understand I stayed a few weeks ? I wrote very carefully that in 2018 it was 6 months.

and the guy before you says 6 months is too much in the previous year.

Who to believe in this website ? some say I am stupidly scared, others says i am right.

  12. After reading too many different opinions my head is spinning, i was almost sure we can go in visa exempt( in 2018 had - 2 SETV for 6 months + 1 visa exempt 2 weeks).

Then one guy said "6 months inside on the previous year" , is enough to get you into problems in Bangkok airports. (link at the end)

So i don't want to get denied and separated on the border ( Western+vietnamese), and I think going from Kampot by land.

What is a GOOD border, having everything we need (onward flight/hotel/20k) close to Kampot ?

    Final destination is Surathani.

    Thanks.

  13. Thanks ubonjoe .

So if listening to both of you, i have an option for border crossing, maybe an option to try a visa in hcmc, or just a flight= do the passport thing in bkk which seems by your replay may not be a problem.

IF YOU HAD TO GUESS BASED ON THIS FORUM, FLY VIA BKK WITH EXEMPT MAY BE OK ?

(would you try saigon setv ?)

Thanks and sorry for being a little bit neurotic . Don't want them to deny us and separate us at airport.
