Another ex-squadron feller who was doing hand-to-hand combat training in Qatar wrote that he turned round and saw two of the "elite" he was training lovingly holding hands.
While on a refridgeration course. The instructor told of an incident with the Saudi Air Force. A pilot was dune hopping and flew over a Bedouin girl tending her goats. The backwash killed her. Their was an investigation. The outcome was the jet engine was possessed so they replaced it.

And they let him fly a passenger aircraft. Luckily his opportunity came over an isolated spot.

BBC senior figure not ruling out a return to BBC

Just on a side tangent a question that was asked of me the other day and I struggled to answer.
"What has a Muslim contributed to humanity in the last 200 years?"
I can find references to ancient Arabic scholars and the various sciences and their indelible marks on this area e.g. mathematics, geography, geology and astronomy. But recently not much. Unless we include suicide bombers, homemade rockets, running planes into buildings etc, etc .
Just for balance sake there must be something?
Cheers
Most of those ideas were developed by pagans

Western governments should hold referendums on the issue.

Interesting to see that Saudi will attack the Shia Houthis, but declines to do the same for years now to the Sunni Al Qaida fraction in Yemen...Worse still, if 130 Houthis are murdered by an ISIS suicide bomber, this is considered "good news" for all Sunnis.....
So the main question is: Which side are you on America? Al Qaida/ISIS/Saudi or the Houthis backed by the "evil state" of Iran?
My 1st thought when I heard the reports were would the Saudis have bothered if the legitimate president was a shia? The Saudis shia minority is oppressed in Saudi, despite their lands being oil rich.

I wonder how much the presenters get from the re-runs?

One pilot locked out, leaving only one person in the pilot's cabin? There is always supposed to be two crew members in the cabin, I understand.
It is an absolute requirement that there are at least two in the cockpit during takeoff and landing phase. During flight there is not unless they have pee bottles in the cockpit.
A friend who is an ATC tells me DLH rules state 2 people in the cockpit at all times. So if a pilot needs a toilet break, one of the cabin crew sits in the cockpit.
Edit to add, the guy inside the cockpit, assuming he was alone or disabled the stand in crew member., can set the lock to deny access to the code entered from outside the cockpit.

Those 16 students went on the exchange trip because they won a school lottery. 1 of them was doubly unlucky. He left his passport at his host's house, and they rushed to the airport to make sure he got on the flight. - BBC News.

Will they air the already pre-recorder episode 8 and 9 for season 22??
The other two were asked to finish filming the last two episodes, and they declined. BBC News world has just reported, Clarkson's co presenters will go with him.

These are the type of people Australia give citizenship to these days. Russell Crowe take note.

Hmm, I wonder who the BBC is going to replace Jeremy with on Top Gear, Piers Morgan?
Nothing like firing the top character on the BBC's top show worldwide...
Given that the other 2 refused to complete the series without him, the question is. Who will the new presenters be?

This is on the sky news ticker
Anthony Davis, aviation journalist, told Sky News: “The log suggests (the plane) went straight down at a significant rate, up to 5,000 feet per minute at one point, which suggests it happened in a matter of seconds.
“It is unlikely the passengers on board would have known anything about this.

Straight down at up to 5000 feet per minute.
<deleted> would cause that ?
Terrible news.
Emergency descent due to decompression?

It's not coincidence that the trouble in the M.E. has happened as the west backed opposition to strong, but unpalatable leaders is it?

USA destabilized Libya and the whole region. The selfish reason was to keep those nations fighting interior and exterior forces while leaving USA alone. That worked. However, just like every other place the USA has touched (S. America, etc.) and destabilized, the actual ongoing results are a horror for the ordinary people, constant upset and fighting, and broken national economies. This is how USA has ruled for over sixty years, often with the addition of repressive strong-man leaders like Saddam and Noriega that USA inserts, props up, and then takes out. It is how USA has ruled Thailand, too.
Ask Libya people which situation they want........ now or ten yrs ago? And ten years ago they had Gaddafi but also stability and oil was steadily coming out to USA. Now a real mess there, but likely not sending any bombers to the USA for now.
Oh, the weary old canard. Before the US the world was all one lovely peaceful place right?
No wars, no problem?
It's the whole of the west to blame. They were a really peaceful bunch until we interfered. (Insert sarcasm smiley)

Hammond and May were asked to finish the series without JC. They refused. A Live event of Top Gear is scheduled in Norway next week with JC as the star.

Well what ever you think of him, an executive at the BBC has compared him to Jimmy Saville
That is going way too far.

Certain professions should be exempt from patient doctor confidentiality. The doctor in this case should have been able to contact the airline, and say this person is not fit to pilot an aircraft.
