  1. My guess is this is little more than a rumor. The source isn't exactly a major, authoritative news source. And there was a post about this last week and someone responded that this had been around quite a while, but they only asked of people who worked here in media type jobs. I go for my 90 day in a couple days. My guess is they won't ask for this. How many people going in for their 90 days are going to even have all this information with them?

No change in Ranong, got in here 5hrs ago.

  2. There was a documentary I saw last year or the year before. They want refugee status, but Thailand claims they are not refugees. Removing the rings is their response.

  3. You should see Punyaban Waterfall on H4 North of Ranong. All there is a restaurant. You have to pay just to sit down. You can get good pictures before the park entrance.

  4. Winds down the peninsula now coming from the Andaman side, so maybe a little rain soon. Village supply is off at night, so I make sure our tank is full at days end. If it comes to the worst, up to the local HW springs for a wash and laundry.

  5. My money is on a Red Tailed Green Rat Snake. Reaches about 8' long. Can be bad tempered, and will bite if irritated. Eats bats, birds among other animals.

  6. If you are not in they generally talk to the neighbours to confirm that you still live there and are all legit. I think they will give up after a few visits unless by visiting you they get to have the day off or a few hours in a nice restaurant enroute or some other benefit.

They call 1st, but the neighbours better co-operate if they don't want to feel the wife's wrath, 1 is her daughter, the other is her sister. Next nearest is 1/2km away.

  7. Where are you living, maybe then others in your area may be able to comment,as this may only be specific to your area for some reason, immigration in Thailand varies immensely across the country,it's certainly not plain sailing everywhere.

Out in the sticks of Ranong, nearest Ex Pat is about 20 km away. Last time they said they wanted to know it wasn't an address of convenience, why can't they just call the local police who see me often?

Just had a chat with the aforementioned expat. He's on a retirement extension and has been told the visits will be monthly. Looks like Ranong going their own way.

  9. When they visited last time to vet the application details, they said it will probably be a monthly visit. Sure enough we've just had immigration up here again, it's a 70 km round trip for them. Must have nothing better to do. One asked If I had tried tapping the trees. Even if I had I'm not daft enough to admit I had, I'm asleep when that's going on. However is anyone else getting this happen?

  10. OK so the waiting period was to the 12th which was the Sunday just gone. On Friday my wife called to ask about progress. No news, so it was mentioned it was due on the 12th, she was talking to the boss who said no problem. Called again Monday, same answers. We are at the hospital that afternoon, waiting for them to unplug her half brother, I got the call. It's approved but we are closed, come back tomorrow. We went back and the piece of work is going through my passport. She calls the boss over, and she is bickering for an overstay charge. She lost, I hope her stay there is a short one.
