Just like Baht busses - might there just be too many of them
How about limiting the numbers to a level that the current infrastructure can cope with
Maybe be a bit difficult seeing as all the bribes have already been paid.

If it says 30 days under the condo rules then this is the law. You don't have the right to rent it out under this time frame.

Huh??? Where did I quote they're the "worst"? I said they are one of the biggest human rights offenders. Twisting my words, must be a trump supporter.
Forced disappearances, airstrikes in Yeman, no freedom of expression, death penalty, death penalty by stoning, flogging, serious lack of woman's rights, harsh laws against the LBGT community, Sharia law and so on.
You must be American then. The UAE is not Saudi Arabia. Go learn some world geography and educate yourself.

No, you are. I didn't say perfect. I said not the worst. Political freedoms and Religous freedoms are different, The UAE has restrictions on both these. I am not saying I agree with it. I am saying I understand it. For the most part, there are very few problems within the UAE. If you look to the country North of the UAE there lies most of the Middle East issues.

I'm sure you already know this but just in case, be aware HSBC Middle East and HSBC Expat are not the same.
I know. One is in Jersey and one is in the UAE. My accounts are linked though. Meaning I can move money from my UAE account to my expat account.

You buy cheap, you buy twice. It never ceases to amaze me how people cannot assess cheap crap over value for money. No one who has any inkling about motor vehicles would buy a Chinese car.

I have a lot of money on deposit with various UK banks and building societies. All the interest is paid tax-free and I never have any tax to pay on it.
Given that interest rates are much higher onshore, and given that the deposit insurance is much stronger onshore, I see little point in having any significant money offshore. I do have a couple of offshore accounts but I use them to receive some small UK payments that would be taxable if they were paid onshore.
I also have a UK credit card which I would be very unwilling to do without. Debit cards are not the same at all.
Well said. OP keep the UK accounts. If you want an offshore account then there are many options. Personally, I like HSBC Expat. I have a reason for having this account as I work in the Middle East.

They can’t even get the 90 Day Reporting to work efficiently online, that involves maybe a handful of Expats, what chance is there of setting up a system to deal with millions of tourists ?
Nothing to do with that. One payment. One standard policy document. One set of T&C's on what is covered. Easy. Pay online beforehand or get in the queue on arrival. Lots of countries a lot less efficient than Thailand do this.

Impossible too ‘police’, the queues at Immigration at the airport are bad enough, imagine the I.O. checking every tourist to check if they had Insurance.
No, it isn't. You buy it at the airport. By far the biggest burden on the Thai health care system is tourists with no medical insurance.

Yes, because the EPL is a right on organisation and would never ever consider allowing an unfit person own a football club. UAE are one of the world's biggest human rights offenders, and over in Paris, not EPL I know, there's the lovely fellas from Qatar.
What a load of crap. How is the UAE one of the worst human rights offenders? I admit they are far from perfect but "worst" is not correct. You are obviously very limited in your knowledge of the world.

Surely, the end result of all this is so many guns used to kill so many of your own population?
Let them kill each other. I can never understand why you would need an assault rifle to go hunting.

Parenting isn't easy. On another note, you don't find many solutions to life at the bottom of a bottle, This is not meant to be critical. It's just a fact. I have been known to have a bender now and again.

I always ask a bank in the UK to change them to new and clean bills. Just tell then you are travelling abroad and need good quality notes in order for them to be accepted.

The results are in...college entrance exam standard testing had to be lowered to meet the demand of uneducated people leaving pubic schools...morons now are scattered throughout all levels of government...including the US Congress...US schools rank around 30th in the world...this is the price one pays for equality in education...minorities are so proud of the new dumber culture...????
Well said. We should be dumbing up not dumbing down. The world needs smarter people. There are enough stupid ones to go around already.

So you discount US favoured countries such as Saudi and Israel. What a lot of US mythos you sprout.
Where there are wars and rumours of wars, you will find the US and the US arms industry.
It is a sad thing when you truly believe your own county's propaganda.
I am not American. Also, the Middle East is in a conflict in many different areas. It's not the same as in Thailand. Saudis are no angels but if you are picking between them and the other fanatics in the region then its no contest.

Can you provide a link to the French billionaire..and his connections to the Vatican?
..and give any reasons as to why the French gov't and people will not assist in paying for it?

There is no link to the Vatican. I was saying that instead of a request to go fund me the Vatican could meet the cost easily.

Millions of people not just Catholics or religious people visited every year to admire the sheer size, grandeur and art and history of the place. 1 city/country might not be able to manage the costs to repair.
I saw that a French billionaire is going to pay for it. Not like the Vatican is short of a few bob is it?

I know with a little experience (Brit) I have had that the Embassy can pay and someone stands as a guarantor in the UK. Effectively a loan. They also take your passport off you until the bill is paid. Not sure if this is still the case though.
I am not a big fan of the Telegraph but a well put and quite an apt comment in this article and can be used frequently in my opinion on the TVF.

The only thing they can do is leave without them. Obviously lying down on the air bridge must have some kind of chargeable offence. At least a fine.
