  1. Exactly what I thought as well. Apparently, if you look at the video again, you will notice that the lights of the motorbike is heading the same way the truck was heading. This implies that the bike was trying to overturn the truck and turn right before it, but unfortunately the truck caught it on the sides. I first thought the bike was coming in front of the truck, but that doesn't seem the case. One could agree that the truck could have stretched his vehicle more to the left side before turning in, thus giving space so that it doesn't completely block the road. In my opinion, if the bike wasn't overturning, the truck would most likely have noticed an incoming bike/car in front of it. But in this case, the bike was complicating it.
  2. I have been doing some thinking, and might go ahead and skip additional coverage for potential fires, theft, national disasters and floods. This just adds up to the premium costs, as I'm more interested in covering the cost of myself, the bike and the third-party whether liability is property damage, medical bills for injuries etc. - regardless whose fault it is. Mind sharing what insurance company you have?
  3. Most locals don't have motorbike insurance, unless they paid for mandatory tax&insurance at the transportation office.
  4. If the Chinese economy slows down, due to their property sector being wiped out, then I can hardly see them coming in huge numbers ever again. Their zero-covid policy is an absolute disaster for which it would ultimately make it harder for people to travel in and out from China. Westerners in particular don't see Thailand as what it once were. The Mediterranean is still the hot spot for many northern Europeans. Americans are flocking to Europe due to USD/EUR parity. This is despite the ongoing war in Ukraine. Inflation is also starting to become a concern in Thailand which puts pressure on tourism spending as well. BOT are behind the curve trying to fight it, so a recession might be necessary to bring prices down.
  5. Most likely, could you move it there? Thx.
  6. Hello, I'm looking for a comprehensive BigBike insurance, which covers damage to the insured vehicle regardless of fault in case of accident, fire, theft, or natural disaster as well as liability to third parties (property damage and bodily injury) when the driver is at fault. Since my bike is 300cc. I need a compulsory third-party liability insurance is known as "Por Ror Bor" among locals. From what I read, you will need this type of insurance if you bike is over 150cc, according to thai law. Which are the most best choices of insurance companies in Thailand? Thank you!
  7. This is a compelling reason why you shouldn't invest or put any money into this third-world country. Let's face it, this restructuring should have been planned and executed well over 20 years ago when the U.N. issued multiple reports of high and severe warnings about major capitals around the world in the event of flooding risks , but the public and political leadership have been weak and continues to be ignorant. I know many property owners in Bangkok who are chocked to see their homes collapse in prices. The supply is there yes, but poor infrastructure have turned this city into the 2nd worlds most congested capital in the world - yes, you heard it right. Pollution is another problem this article haven't highlighted. Economically, de-globalization is going to put a lot of downward pressure on the baht as more factories and manufacturing are slowly and eventually going to leave Thailand simply because it's impossible to do business here with a convenient environment... but most of it stems for the fact that the U.S. and Europe can't rely on SE Asia long-term. They are coming back home! Look how quickly western businesses, in a coordinated fashion, left Russia in a matter of few weeks. Now that BKK is representing 40% of GDP, most if it is just financial services and tourism. The north east is where the manufacturing hub is, and the south is completely disconnected from the rest of Thailand. Tourism ain't gonna save this economy for the short- and intermediate term. Get your money out from this country - you have been warned.
  8. Go to the provincial transportation office and ask them there.
  9. What you are asking for requires brains and common sense. There is no such leadership in Thailand to improve and attract more tourism. TAT consists of outdated employees on government payroll just so they can roll their thumbs and keep report expected tourist arrivals every quarter to satisfy the public without much questioning. We all know they are fake. This whole Covid extension program was a complete embarrassment from the beginning, as many were caught without knowing what they will do next, which left many to leave when they could have stayed and help at least maintain tourism at a somewhat good level.. but no! They shot themselves in the foot and it was the last coffin. Tourism will slowly rebound, but let’s be honest, Thailand has fallen behind and isn’t as furious as it was 10 years ago. The land of smiles have turned into the land of masks. And with overpriced fare tickets, there are better deals out there. Sure, prices have come down, but value isn’t there. I know many Americans for instance who are heading to Europe instead, and most Northern Europeans simply find the Mediterranean much more appealing nowadays. Anyways, since the Chinese ain’t coming back very soon, the people over at TAT will continue to have a hard task trying to convince the farangs to come. Good luck!
  10. 10 million is actually nothing if you think about it. A mid tier city in Europe gets on average 15-20million a year.
  11. Someone didn’t receive his piece of the cake, so it became headline news
  12. I’m glad I don’t own a single Thai Baht anymore.
  13. Right.. a ping pong show is now going to cost you a tad extra. Do these peeps even know what premium means?
  14. If you thinking of coming to Thailand in search for Normality. I’m not sure what you’re smoking.
