  1. The west needs to ban people from entering these areas, perhaps even sanctioning north eastern part of thailand by closing down western businesses and all forms of tourists going there. That would immediately kill their economy, and only then, will the local governments wake up to the fact. Thais are complacent and don't seem to care much, but when it comes down to the economy and money - that's when they will finally make the uncomfortable decision. Literally no respect for human life in these areas..
  2. It's a market, and when there is demand prices usually go up and when its too much supply prices stay flat or fall. It's basic economics. Go figure. Most of these properties have been discounted during the pandemic, so seeing prices going up +15-20 doesn't mean they are back to their all time highs yet. It's been a magnificent buying opportunity, and these properties will be a gold mines in years ahead.
  3. Plain stupid! They should now raid all bars IMO and confiscate as much weapons as possible.
  4. If somebody gave him a joint, he would calm down instantly. No Joint, no Calm!
  5. If he was so sure, he would bet his own life.
  6. Oh great..they arrested a dude who overstayed for 75days, but they surely haven't arrested locals who keep dumping garbage and burning all plastic waste all around the island spreading hazardous air pollution.. No no. Let's just say that the police in Chaweng just so happened to rape somebody inside the police station once upon a time as well. Yeah look it up! F off, piece of <deleted>s. If the western sanctions on Russia would be put on Thailand, more than half the population would starve to death within a year and their economy crumble like a falling coconut. They should be happy and thank people for overstaying, at least it contributes to consumption and economic growth. Out!
  7. I'm amazed that TAT hasn't issued any advisory recommendations to discourage travel to these areas, given the hazardous smoke levels, especially in Chiang Mai. Due to their incompetence in handling this pollution, I believe it would be beneficial for the European Union and the Americas to impose travel and business activity sanctions in northwestern Thailand. This would ensure that the economic burden is felt by zero tourists and no foreign businesses until the Thai government resolves this issue. However, this would also mean that major retailers like Big C, Tesco, and nearly all foreign businesses would have to close, which could have severe economic consequences. Perhaps then, the Thai authorities would be forced to take action and implement measures to halt the burning, or at the very least, restrict it to controlled areas and times coinciding with occasional rain. As of now, their negligence is at 100%.
  8. That's a whopping 14,44 million baht for thai immigration!
  9. I always wonder what happens if people can’t pay. So the hospital kill him? It pretty much sounds as a threat each time someone falls victim to these hospital scam bills.
  10. Try reading the comments again and stop repeating the same BS. You can interpret victims the way you want.
  11. So he banged 4000 girls, yeah right. Most likely just screenshotted girls onlyfans, and they found no way of making a cut. Something is not right.
  12. Perhaps the only good outcome of this (maybe) is that they should be less restrictive when it comes to border runs and ask questions, because after all, now the tourist has to pay a fee.
  13. According to Thai Law, the hospital must treat her whatever the cost. The hit and runner should be sued and thrown in jail for causing the accident. It’s clearly not her fault, but again, if she didn’t have a license and no helmet - the insurance company has no reason to pay. Things like this can and should be able to be resolved with installments.
  14. You shower with it and brush your teeth with it, but you don't drink it. Most water bottles you're buying are tap water anyways, but filtered in some ways. You could boil the water and should eliminate most of the bacteria that goes through the pipes, and then it should be safer to drink. But considering that you might need 2-6L per day, you'll need to factor in the electricity cost overtime.
  15. Pure <deleted>!! Haha these “legit” taxi drivers just want another reason to rip off tourists with overinflated fares.
  16. Didn’t we hear a week ago that we can all trust the RTP? There are at least a 1000 more Joe Ferraris in Thailand for sure.
  17. That’s true, but it could still have been a high yielding savings account not covered by FDIC equivalent, and obviously skimmed by hackers taking advantage of a loophole in the system.
  18. I wonder which bank that was. Could have been an underground or unregulated bank that yielded high interest.
  19. Here is how to fix this problem. The international community sanctions Koh Tao island making it illegal for anyone to visit. Thereby bankrupting the whole Island until Thai authorities looks into every death that has occurred there for clear review. Those who have a hidden agenda needs to be charged and put to prison for life.
  20. On average, rainfall peaks and is heaviest in November according to data so that's true. Although, that doesn't mean December is without rain. The mean temperature also drops more in December compared to November, followed by January. With that said, December is part of the monsoon season, which typically starts in October and goes through end of January. Below is data from 2016, couldn't find a revised version.
  21. The low volume of visitors to Koh Samui is not attributable to Bangkok Airways. Prior to 2017, when Samui's tourism industry was booming, nobody had any complaints. The government's 2016 takedown of firms, outrageously high taxi fares, scams, and ripoffs are also to blame. Military trucks and soldiers were practically demolishing structures in front of your eyes. Since then, this has stuck in people's minds. It's great that now there have been significant initiatives taken to restore the infrastructure and the roads. But once more, the island is too pricey for most people to visit, which is why just a small number visit. Perhaps that is the appeal, but in actuality Bangkok Airways has nothing to do with this. If you book early, you can almost always get good deals. Additionally, the monsoon season, which lasts from November through the end of February, is not the best time to travel to Koh Samui. The worst month is December. Maybe the issue is with marketing? People travel to islands expecting sunshine and pristine oceans, but when they arrive in the middle of December, the island is drenched with rain. Nothing will be fixed by building this bridge to nowhere; on the contrary, it will simply make matters worse. The island can't support so much traffic, and the pollution will put off many people. An island should be just that—an island. We all know how much corruption is involved, therefore all of this money will be wasted.
