  1. The problem is, if they know in advance that your insurance will cover it then they will most likely put you on that quarantine list upon arrival. They’re most likely selecting a few percentages of random tourists to take advantage of them. This is what’s happening.
  2. Kill the dog, and sue the <deleted> having a filthy dog like that.
  3. Well, the question one might ask why Thai banks have been so bullish on the police force? Did the laundry month dry out that quick?
  4. Cool! We will soon be speaking Greek after all Covid variants have occupied the whole Greek alphabet. I guess alphabet is Greek to. Jeez!
  5. Good news! It will probably be on going until tourism really kicks off. The immigration makes millions from extensions alone, if it’s not the only source of income at this point. Since nobody at the immigration want to loose their jobs or see their budgets slashed in half, I’m pretty sure they’ll announce further extension of the amnesty. One way to predict when the amnesty extension ends, will probably coincide with opening of the Malaysian border.
  6. They most likely also forgot to tell all the prospective passengers if they don’t have 500 baht in their pockets, there’s no way to enter. This is beyond all means stupidity at the highest level. A Vaccine and 72 hours Covid test should be enough, nothing more. But no, welcome to the lands of complications. In the end, these alternative phishing websites are probably in place just to warn people not to even bother going.
  7. First time visitors are typically the ones, after returning home, that says: “never again”.
  8. 9. Pay a tourist fee at the airport or we won’t let you in!
  9. What they don't tell these tourists in written footnotes is that if they catch covid during their stay, they must quarantine in an approved hospital or hotel. Basically ruining their stay. In worst case scenario, the hospitals will charge them a whopping 60-100,000 baht for 10-14 days Q. And have fun wearing those masks everywhere you go. Most countries have waived much of their restrictions, and so why would anyone want to come if they'd be subjected to all these requirements if they can be more free at home? Does that sound like a nice vacation that TAT has considered? Maybe they're indeed too busy over at TAT rolling that roulette guessing number after all.
  10. Good, and why the heck do countries give out citizenship so easily to these people? If it's impossible to get one in Thailand then don't give it to them. Out you GO.
  11. I feel sorry for the expat. He's surely not alone! In fact many refuses to report covid cases for that reason. These hospitals do see an opportunity to squeeze cash out of foreigners pockets. So with that in mind, whenever they decide to open up the country for international tourism and if a tourist get's covid then they will force them to quarantine in a hotel or at the hospital and pay these hefty fees amounting to thousands of dollars. It reminds me of that Intl. flight from Emirates to Phuket a few months ago forcing the whole group of 12 to quarantine even though they tested negative with 1 vaccinated passenger positive, basically destroying their whole vacation.
  12. Basically, this is how it works: the information is being sold to advertisers and marketers. Obviously, this could have been an insider job and the people will certainly make big bucks from companies willing to pay. I actually, for some weird reason, started to get many sms during covid here in Thailand. I sometimes think it could be the fact that I have written down my telephone number every-time I entered tesco, big c or other avenues. The information could’ve been sold to 3rd parties willing to pay. You should immediately discard these messages. Information and data leaks are valuable these days, and this leak will certainly cause harm for many who’ll most likely be targeted with scams and perhaps threats. They can use personal info to create fake accounts as well which happens all the time. Thailand 4.0 in its best possible ways. Good luck with law enforcement because you already signed the papers that they can do anything with this information.
  13. There was never a normal before covid. Businesses were struggling, tourists arrivals disappointed from year to year and things were only getting worse in terms of high expectations. The thing is, there are no investments, their marketing strategies are outdated, public safety is a concern and everything seems overpriced. The baht has fallen which could help but It would only be short lived. Not sure what to say but it will take years before international travel rebounds in general. SE Asian countries will certainly lag more compared to other reopenings in Europe. I expect only a 3rd of that number highlighted to materialize. It’s obviously only a marketing pitch, but people ain’t that stupid.
  14. Other than Binance, https://www.kraken.com Is also a good exchange that works in Thailand. It’s regulated and widely recognized. It’s basically the to-go exchange to use worldwide. So if you’re traveling from country to country it will always work and it’s super easy to open an account.
