Talked to both sides many times.
They refuse to take any responsibility since I exited both countries.
I entered both countries today illegally, sneaking past guards to eat, and send e-mails.
Last advice I got from the Thai side was to go stealth past the border and go to Penang or Kuala Lumpur
visiting Malay immigration, they said I must cancel the exit date and recieve a new exit date.
Not even sure such a thing is possible.
I can go to the embassy and make a new passport, but I dont think it will help in this case.
Have you called your embassy?
There are intentional rules and treaties regarding displaced(?) persons and both these countries would be on the list.
Keep a diary.

What is the electrical source they are using to stun the fish? Where is it located? It sure ain't a truck battery.
Maybe consider eliminating the power supply...
Having asked the locals how it is done was not very productive but they did say that the device does indeed get the power from a truck battery. I know they didn't get any power near the pond because the property has no electric supply.
a 12 v battery seems to be all thats required, http://tinyurl.com/8e66quf
I'm sure the locals can MacSomchai something up for much less than this that runs on a mc battery.
I'm not sure that other than camping out or hiring a guard if there is any practcal way to secure a remote pond.
Maybe it's more about doing what you can with the land rather than doing what you really want.

Go back to either side and ask to speak to the Senior Officer.
They probably just want to yank you around for awhile.
If you still get no where then call the embassy
Just in case keep detailed notes and try to get hold of Tom Hanks phone number

what does democracy have to do with any of this? The rights of people during a police search fall under the category of civil and constitutional rights and liberties.Ok, so lets wrap this up for the OP.
He was traveling late at night in an area notorious for dodgy stuff.
He was legally stopped and searched and briefly questioned and despite breaking the law by not carrying his passport the police let him continue on his way without penalty after finding no illicit substances on his person.
The bastards...
And no,Thailand is not a democracy, not really.
It was one of the OP's questions.

All these comparisons....
In the US,Australia, UK, all these bastions of civilization, freedom and rights your governments willingness to kill you is their only real control. And at times they do demonstrate it just to remind everyone.
You can be put to death for not paying a bus fare.
Don't pay the ticket and they will send a sheriff to confiscate property.
Try to protect your property and you will be clubbed.
Try to defend yourself from being clubbed and your will be shot to death.
All for the lack of $2.50
The rule of law operates its own consistent logic. In Thailand, however, such a consistency is considerably different than in the West.
This could be good or bad depending on the situation, as your vignette has just shown.
What a crock.
Are you saying that in a country with all those rights and freedoms you would be able to protect your property from theft or your person from assault?
Try it.
Get someone to come back to us with how it all worked out.

Science Minister Plodprasop said the Cabinet was informed by officials that the country would not face flooding this year, so from next week water from large dams would be released, leaving levels at an optimum to prevent the consequences of drought.
Erm ... run that past me, one more time ?
The Met Department DDG says that the rains are "mostly in areas downstream of the large dams", so the government intends to release further water from those large dams, which would then have less water remaining in them ?
Which lower-levels would somehow then be "optimum to prevent the consequences of drought" ?
Why the need to release water downstream from the dams now, when it's currently raining mostly downstream, and how does the resulting lower-level of water in the dams then optimise prevention of the consequences of drought ? Surely the more water you have in-reserve, the safer you are, from the consequences of drought ?
You are not alone..
i do though blame the translators.
and the transformers, the're bastards too....

I goto Thai nightclubs and have been forced to p*ss in a cup a bit humiliatingbut could hardly complain as they targeted everyone. This is very different to the 'selective policing' you were championing earlier and completely besides the point mate!
BS. They have two separate classes here, drug use by tourists and drug use by Thais. they largely police them in different ways with the Thais getting the short end of the stick. What are you complaining about?

if a Thai person has a passport then the odds are she know how to get another!
If a Thai woman wants something, the odds are she knows exactly what it is and where it can be purchased, all that she needs said farang for is to pay!
Getting a passport and renewing one are completely different processes. Knowing the former does not aid you in the latter.
The Thai wife will probably have asked a friend or Poo Yai who may have given them completely erroneous information that they will, because of the source, implicitly believe. Because of the way information is disseminated here that information is often wrong leading to lengthy unnecessary trips and expenses.
For example, recently I needed to extend my visa in Bangkok. I knew from reading TV that the old immigration office was no longer servicing westerners, though they still do apparently service Thais and surrounding countries.
I said we had to go to the new office which is quite a ride.
She said no and asked a friend who is a dual national Thai. Her friend told her that "She" did it in the old office and we should go there.
So she is now determined that we can go to the old office.
I said no and showed her the immigration website which clearly states that office is not for me.
She then asked a Poo Yai friend who "knows" the immigration general. He said go the old office, no problems.
So taking a good book and a lot of small change I sigh and get in the cab for the long trip to the old office only to be told, as predicted, that we had to now take an even longer cab ride to the new office.
This happens all the time with almost every subject.
Get used to it.
Either get used to it or do things your way (usually the correct way) and stop wasting time going round and round in ever decreasing circles.
Sometimes I naively wish I can teach her a lesson and that if I do this enough times negative reinforcement will kick in.
i also sometimes wish my dog was a unicorn and that i had a jetpack....

It's called google adsense and has been around quite a while.
Rather than serve you random ads google serves you ads based on your browsing and search history on the slight chance that it may be of use to you.
You can turn it off and co back to regular random crap if you like.
Don't worry, there isn't some creepy fat guy with glasses sitting in a google office somewhere taking notes...

The stop and search is legal. However the fact they ignore taxi's full of Thai clubbers on their way to Whip and Narz, and all pilled up; In order to focus on farangs, tells its own story. Furthermore when they search and check the minute crevices on the inside of your wallet looking for the merest trace of powder it is again obvious what they are doing.
Conducting the search efficiently and completely?
Selective policing is not racism, it's manpower management. if a particular group of officers is tasked with deterring tourists using drugs that is what they do. There are other larger, less polite groups tasked with deterring drug use amongst nationals and they usually do it in much more invasive way.

Shudder to think of anything, like for example a decent plate of food, that might add some modicom of value for money to the 4800 baht flight. Interestingly when you factor in the transit times surrounding the flight i would venture to say that a small nutritious snack is in order. Within the profit margins of a BKK flight it would presumably be cooked by Gordon Ramsey and served on silver platter by Egon Ronet.
I've never been on the flight so I can't comment on it per se. Your gripe may be entirely justifiable.
But in general never expect airline food to be very good and so am infrequently disappointed.
Just as I never expect a riverboat cruise restaurant to get me quickly and efficiently to my destination.

Question No 4 Gator
Baring in mind Bandit Airways, your first love, are the carriers for the most expensive 45 minute flight in the world, why is the in flight food offering so appalling?
Why would you need a meal for a 45 minute flight?
Are you Thai?
Yes, i am. Your point is......?
No point. That explains the need for food on a 45 minute flight.
Continue on your justifiable way.

In UK i never heard tourist got shot by drunken police, and never got justice?
Yes, as already mentioned, but I'll posted the link for some background information as the poster seems to be completely unaware of it.

It's all very simple. to improve efficiency and reduce overcrowding they will shut more stations.
In fact many new stations built to service new routes will be shut before they are opened.
The whole thing will be funded by a 1000% increase of ticket prices on the airport link. tourists will gladly pay this once they realize how cheap and easy it will all be once they get to Pratunam.

...hope that they can put it back together...just collect all the left-over screws and parts
Probably be able tomake a half decent samlor out of whats left if you throw in some bits left over from your last Ikea build.

Toyota vans are, as far as I am aware, hotel transport for guests (a friend drives one) - why all Toyotas, no idea- price break maybe?
PM uniform: all civil servants wear uniforms, and have medals, its not military at all.
I never noticed Italians clap before. I personally find clappers creepy.
Bit of a sweeping statement without answering the question..I wasn't suggesting that they were all military although we do generally
associate them with acts of valour or winning races.
There are hundreds of civil servants in various Departments in Thailand who wear uniform (it is mandatory on certain days) and they do not have medals. But I'm interested as to what exactly the medals that are issued are for? Surely they must be for something! She seems to have an awful lot of them!
Well, you get a really big one for winning the election. You probably get another one for each six months you stave off a coup.
Most civil servants have some decorations or service awards, remember, you are seeing the PM in full dress uniform

As long as your card is not in the machine at the time, why should you care if "criminals take the hole ATM away with a iron rope and a pickup car"?
It might be the one that has his money in it.

I own one and am partners in another. 2 shots of advice.
1) don't buy one in Phuket/Pattaya/Bangkok/Chewang
2) make it memorable. My small bar down south does very well but it's only across the road from the ocean. View is the draw.
nice spot.

I think the whole thread is a poorly couched attempt at a brag about a convent dwelling teacher bride with a double backflip half twist.
Unfortunately the board caught him in the back of the head and he flopped. 2.3 out of 10 (points for difficulty, not execution.)

It's a fairly unique set of postings when even the Mod's can't be bothered to close the thread and hope it will just fade away, what does that tell you about the quality of the subject!
It's a fairly unique thread when the OP either doesn't know or refuses to state exactly what he is asking for feedback on.
