  1. You seem to be talking yourself in circles, is English your first language? What are you saying here? That you know it means hooker but you don't mean hooker in your question, or yes you mean hooker?

    So is it;

    a. Is you wife a hooker and are you too ashamed to admit it

    or

    b. Did you meet your non hooker wife in a bar and are ashamed to admit it?

I've already pointed out the logical error of question a. and b. is just nonsensical, if I met my convent raised teacher wife in a nightclub, why would I be ashamed to say so?

    What exactly are you asking?

Your question is nonsensical. I was asking the question on something someone esle had stated. Are there rules against that ? Youv'e pointed out my error ? Why do you think your observasion/argument is the fact

  2. You don't know that "girls met in bars" in Thailand used in this context is a euphemism for Hooker?

i know the meaning and it is your choice to take that euphemism for Hooker. I live in Aus and Thailand. So what is your problem with me asking the question of something that someone else has stated ??

  3. A few days ago I posted in a topic describing the plan to curtail daytime police checkpoints, ostensibly to alleviate the traffic jams tey invariably cause. It was said that checkpoints could only be set up after 9PM from now on.

My take was that it was tantamount to breaking the cops' ricebowls, and such nefarious tea-money hunts no longer being avalable to them, the slack must be take up somewhere else. Missing the multitudes of 100 baht notes from hapless moto drivers, the cops might just start looking for bigger game...

    Could this be the beginning?

There is plenty of traffic on the roads after 9pm. Probably a higher percentage of those that can and will cough up.

Maybe the cops would just prefer to work on this in the dark where fewer people can see....and film?

  4. OP: It's only fair to ask how you met your Thai wife in Australia, circumstances, what was her background prior to you meeting her? e.g. had she been sponsored to Australia by someone else prior to you meeting her etc

EDIT: The forum members, if they wish to do so, can then analyse, dissect & comment on your relationship as all the other threads have done on this topic - over to you...

She grew up in a convent ( so thoroughly opposite to me) And she was an english teacher. I was introduced to her through friends of mine.We have been together coming on seven years now

Does your lady of the Cloth know you dabble on the Net regarding Aus and Thai hookers ? And l must ask, why the interest. ? sad.png

I never asked anything about hookers!! and my lady reads everything i write! why would i hide it from her ? I never said she was a lady of the cloth i said she grew up in a convent and was a english teacher!

You don't know that "girls met in bars" in Thailand used in this context is a euphemism for Hooker?

You really don't get out much. Have you ever been to Thailand?

Your wife, her family is not half Chinese is it?

  5. Ok . I asked this question because it was stated on another thread today. I thought it was a bit harsh a thing to say so that was the reason i asked the question. My problem here with this thread i started to ask that question is that many want to shut it down because they have heard it before ? But people join this forum daily so why aren't they allowed to join in any conversation?

So why not ask the question on that thread/ ask the particular poster to explain his statement.

Because i was interested in others thoughts and my question had nothing to do with that thread

Ok, so is it the fact or the harshness of the statement you want to test.

If the former you are asking readers to post the answer to two questions.

    a) Is/was your wife a hooker? and,

    b. If so,are you ashamed to admit it?

Are you expecting a flood of answers saying yes to part a)?

If you don't get a flood of answers saying yes, what have you proved, that there are no hooker wifes or that they are too ashamed to admit it?

it's just a really stupid question. Would you ask it in a bar or resteraunt to peoples faces?

  6. RT @tulsathit: Court orders more bail conditions for 17 red leaders, who now must refrain from incitement and instigation. - @Tulip_Oum @NationChannel24

So their new bail condition is to really really (no crossing your fingers) really not commit the criminal crimes of incitement and instigation...

    Oky doky

  7. A case of mistaken identity. I always feel sorry when someone's family member is killed or dies, but politicians live by their own rules and sometimes die by them.

Don't feel too sorry. The death of the son probably saved some poor sap from being run over by him in the future, for which, as the son of a prominent politician he would undoubtedly walk away from without any negative personal ramifications.

What an absolutely ridiculous, not to say moronic assumption.

Not when you know that the 27 year old boy was carying a gun.

Apparently not without good reason as it turns out.

  8. OP, just asking the question alone, regardless of the fact that it's been asked, debated and answered hundreds of times, shows how little you know about the environment here. It's not just a niave question it's one that pops into the heads of most people at some early stage in their life here before the coin drops and they realize that oh, ok, the bar/bar girl scene is just a very very very small part of the overall picture in Thailand so why would I even ask such a question.

Might be maybe because i have never been to a bar in Thailand and i have never seen a thread relating to this topic. i don't mind being niave about anything i have not had any history with as that is how i learn

Ok fair doos, but I've never been to Aus yet I'm told most Aussie's who live in Thailand are from Melbourne, the bar girl question is at the same level, with a little bit of thought I could figure out that neither one is correct or even makes sence. But there again, if what I wanted to do was to annoy/antagonise a large portion of Australian society I suppose I could ask that question on a social networking site!

No, Melbourne is probably ok, they might be upset if your said Campbelltown or Broadmeadows..

  9. Political heir. Father involved in two murder cases. Corruption accepted by 61 percent of uni students if in their favor. RIP to the son? Bugger off! It's just the next piece of Thai political mafia scum who would have been the same as his father.

Agreed. Forgive me if I feel absolutely no remorse. I actually feel more remorse for that hooker that got stabbed to death in a drunken, druggie rage.

These political bouts are no different than those stupid ignorant technical school morons killing each other in public view -- except those stupid ignorant technical school morons hurt more innocent bystanders and cause more collateral damage.

    I believe you mean sadness.

'Remorse' would be if you DID the action and regretted it.

hey, leave it out. he's the ajarn here.

  10. "For cigarettes, the hike will see an increase of between Bt6 to Bt8 per packet of eight local and imported brands, Benja said.

    Cigarette hike 2% on average"

Bt6 to Bt8 per packet is more like 10-15%. Apparently this comes into force today - anyone been to the shops for some smokes? What was the price increase and brand? I am in Hong Kong for a few days, just interested to know how much I will have to pay when I get back.

And please don't turn this into another smoking haters thread, there are plenty of those where you can go and procrastinate.

Australia increase the taxes on cigarettes/booze every year saying it will reduce the number of people smoking/drinking. Didn't work in all the previous years people still smoked and consumed alcohol. Now they have come up with a world 1st initiative to stop people smoking, plain packaging, cigarette companies can no longer put thier brand on packets which must all be the same plain pack. Apparently this will make people kick the habit. Now we have the Australian State of Tasmania with a new initiative to ban the sale of tabacco products..

Tasmania in bid to phase out tobacco sales - http://news.ninemsn....t-tobacco-sales

A little like phasing in Prohibition, people will still smoke and drink and the only thing it will do is benifit the black market. A lot of cheap booze and chop chop tobacco will be sold under the counter at less cost to the consumer.

The plain packaging is more designed to deter young people taking up smoking not necessarily trying to make current smokers to quit! And the law that Tasmania is trying to bring in is like prohibition and it would restrict persons that are born after the year 2000, Would make it ilegal to purchase tobacco products. So there targeting kids that are at the age of eleven now and kids in the future

i think it's to make it impossible for them to serve you inside of 10 minutes, a delaying tactic.

It's already bad enough with all the gigs hidden in unlabled drawers and the designated counter crap.

  11. No, it is absolutely not "fact," but complete BS. Why is it that all the Thai folks that I've had meals with, almost always, jump at the chance to pay, and/or contribute their share? And these are just normal Thais. It's not much different to the non-Thais that I've had meals with.

The problem on TV is that farangs here tend to hang out with friends and families of their lo-so peasant wives. If that's the case, you shouldn't be making disparaging remarks about the other 90%+ Thais who actually have manners.

    Define "normal Thais" please.

i think it's fairly normal behavior for Thais.

in the village i generally pay if the family goes out. the family repays in kind, not cash.

In Bangkok i hangout mostly with fairly wealthy family who won't let us pay for anything.

The one time we did intercept the bill they got quite upset.

  12. I have 3M

The dealer put it on when we bought the car.

in terms of higher is darker, I went 80 on the sides and back and 60 on the front.

From the outside, you cannot see who is in the car.

The front is fine, have to roll the side down to turn into an unlit street on a dark night, can see lit cars and bikes ok.

Go to an independent shop and you will probably get a cheaper quote than the dealer.

  13. Are ylou upset that you didn't get a happy ending ?

I think he's upset because he did!

Yeah and this line "This girl could strip the threads off bolts with hands that strong". Makes me think she yanked his chain too hard. giggle.gif

Says the guy called dean with a huge pair of knockers....

  14. Have you tried ringing around the dealers?

We started on the path to unknown delivery with our Mazda (White).

After a month of don't knows we just printed out the list of all dealers and started ringing.

After about 20 calls we found one from a cancelled order and bought it that day.

Might mean a road trip for you, but what better way to get to know your new car.
