  1. Interesting and thanks. When I read the OP and saw Air Aviation, I asked myself who are they? According to Wikipedia, it is the holding company which includes Thai Air Asia. It will be interesting to read their response.
  2. Yes indeed and certainly in the UK. Electric locomotives, multiple units and trams either use electricity from overhead wires or from ground level side rails. However, back in 1958, British Railways introduced a "one off" experimental battery powered multiple unit for use on the Royal Deeside Line between Aberdeen and Ballater. The two units were withdrawn in 1962 when the line closed and are now preserved. The huge batteries were slung between the bogies under the units. I believe this is what SRT have in mind. 3. Does this contravene the "Trades Description Act"? It is NOT chicken and should, in my opinion, be called "Fried chicken flavored soya bean nuggets" (yuck!!) Give me genuine meat any day.
  4. Oh really, but not, in my opinion, with local "Ma & Pa" family run businesses out in the sticks - almost impossible to check and police!
  5. Just like us volunteers with the Thai Tourist Police.
  6. Yes indeed and I must also offer sincere thanks to him for helping to organize (pre-covid) the Royal British Legion's Remembrance Day Service at the Foreign Cemetery in Chiang Mai.
  7. I wonder where this stolen Cambodian crude oil was destined - North Korea by any chance?????
  8. What if the new palm trees are of the coconut variety?????
  9. For reference, the latest in "Breaking News" in The Nation so all the cars could be "legit"! "The Customs Department said on Wednesday that Pol Colonel Thitisan Uthanapol had helped seize 368 illegal cars since 2011 and should have earned some 400 million for his work. The department has sold 363 of the 368 cars Thitisan helped seize and has earned 1 billion baht from the sale. ............ said officers are given 40-per-cent of the proceeds earned from the sale of cars they seized, and in this case, Thitisan is entitled to 400 million baht." https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/40005301
  10. When I was a Tourist Police Volunteer based in Chiang Rai, I used to travel into the hills and mountains at Doi Mae Salong to see and visit the coffee plantations and the terraced tea plantations. The plucked tea leaves could be seen drying on mats alongside the road. (stock photos from the area):- Coffee Plantation Tea Plantation For reference, should you decide to visit Doi Mae Salong, a mountain top town, the drive on a well surfaced road can be scary in places as it follows the contours of the hills - up, down, steep, and bends!!
  11. With respect, so are those who take in SUGAR as in Thailand where there are many.
  12. With respect, not that I was aware of. Trip Advisor relies on comments from independent travelers/tourists and is not directly involved with businesses, places etc. Some of the independent contributors may have been bribed but could be identified. For example, 1 person stating a restaurant is outstanding and worth a visit whereas 40 others stating it is rubbish and definitely "do not visit". I was a regular contributor, pre-covid, over several years whilst living in Thailand. I used to report on my travels to Burma (pre-coup), Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam from Thailand where I was living and I can assure you of my honesty and integrity in my reporting the truth. I lived in the north of Thailand so Bangkok (which I hated) and the southern seaside resorts were never on my "to report" list. Where praise was genuinely due, I promoted the northern Thai resorts among the lakes, rivers, mountains and forests.
