Locals hit out at Miami inspired beautification of Pattaya

What if the new palm trees are of the coconut variety????? -
For reference, the latest in "Breaking News" in The Nation so all the cars could be "legit"! "The Customs Department said on Wednesday that Pol Colonel Thitisan Uthanapol had helped seize 368 illegal cars since 2011 and should have earned some 400 million for his work. The department has sold 363 of the 368 cars Thitisan helped seize and has earned 1 billion baht from the sale. ............ said officers are given 40-per-cent of the proceeds earned from the sale of cars they seized, and in this case, Thitisan is entitled to 400 million baht." https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/40005301

When I was a Tourist Police Volunteer based in Chiang Rai, I used to travel into the hills and mountains at Doi Mae Salong to see and visit the coffee plantations and the terraced tea plantations. The plucked tea leaves could be seen drying on mats alongside the road. (stock photos from the area):- Coffee Plantation Tea Plantation For reference, should you decide to visit Doi Mae Salong, a mountain top town, the drive on a well surfaced road can be scary in places as it follows the contours of the hills - up, down, steep, and bends!!

COVID patients with high blood pressure make up majority of deaths
Burma Bill replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
With respect, so are those who take in SUGAR as in Thailand where there are many. -
With respect, not that I was aware of. Trip Advisor relies on comments from independent travelers/tourists and is not directly involved with businesses, places etc. Some of the independent contributors may have been bribed but could be identified. For example, 1 person stating a restaurant is outstanding and worth a visit whereas 40 others stating it is rubbish and definitely "do not visit". I was a regular contributor, pre-covid, over several years whilst living in Thailand. I used to report on my travels to Burma (pre-coup), Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam from Thailand where I was living and I can assure you of my honesty and integrity in my reporting the truth. I lived in the north of Thailand so Bangkok (which I hated) and the southern seaside resorts were never on my "to report" list. Where praise was genuinely due, I promoted the northern Thai resorts among the lakes, rivers, mountains and forests.

Yes indeed, for reference: August 22nd 2021 - (Wikipedia):- "The Ghost Festival, also known as the Zhongyuan Festival" Also known as "The Hungry Ghost Festival" to honor the dead. It was celebrated here in Cambodia. In fact, MAKRO in Siem Reap had a special section selling fruit and pastries as offerings for the Hungry Ghosts.(stock photo)

Why? Maybe they did not have access to vaccines, especially "out in the sticks"! -
Thaksin chides Move Forward Party in Clubhouse talks
Burma Bill replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
With respect, I do not think so. For reference (shortened):- "Thailand's former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra was today sentenced to two years' imprisonment in absentia over a corrupt land deal. .................... Thaksin was found to have violated conflict of interest rules in helping his wife buy land from a state agency at a reduced price". https://www.theguardian.com/world/2008/oct/21/thaksin-thailand-corruption -
Thaksin chides Move Forward Party in Clubhouse talks
Burma Bill replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yes indeed. Mr. Thaksin never illegally took power as he was democratically elected by a majority of Thai people to become Prime Minister on two occasions, something that the Czar will probably never achieve!! -
With respect, I believe what happened was the Indian received "dirty" (traceable) cash from the drug syndicate and he then bought gold with this money. He would then resell the gold at other gold shops for "clean" money which he would return to the syndicate less his expenses! If I am wrong I apologize.

Very sad, I hope another PM drowns when Bangkok sinks into the sea!! All my 20 years of residence in Thailand was in the North , first Lanna and second Issan. This man is my hero, he brought prosperity across the North:- -
