  1. Perhaps he got a touch of "Bangkok Belly" and needed a dump?
  2. I just completed this quiz. My Score 50/100 My Time 249 seconds
  3. I just completed this quiz. My Score 10/100 My Time 302 seconds
  4. For reference;- Tranmere is NOT in Liverpool. It is across the River Mersey in Birkenhead, Cheshire. (UK)
  5. My first big laugh of the day! Electrifying nightlife? It is shocking!
  6. With respect, I am not surprised if the Americans organised the debate!
  7. I have just returned home to Siem Reap (Cambodia) from a visit to the private Ratchaphruek Hospital in Khon Kaen (January 13th to January 15th 2025). The weather was clear with sunshine, but rather chilly, with NO pollution throughout the return drive via the O'Smach border crossing and across country via Surin and Buriram to Khon Kaen. khon Kaen was refreshingly clear. This was sugarcane country and it was harvest time. I saw no evidence of burning the cane, just the cutting of the cane for loading onto trucks.
  8. These - very common in Thailand, especially out in the sticks! No "bum gun", just a plastic bowl, no toilet paper, no wash basin, no soap and a squat loo! Very off putting when seen in restaurants and used by customers who return to the table and then use their hands to pick ice from a bucket and put it into beers.
  9. It must have been "soul- destroying" for him!
  10. Most of the food and drink outlets at BKK and DMK are expensive, however at DMK, there is a halal outlet tucked away in a waiting area for gates where its sandwiches were around 80 baht compared to others at 100 - 125 baht. I have seen the staff freshly preparing them. By the way, I am not a Muslim but someone who appreciates value for money.
  11. Well I never - safe and trusted Thailand (according to TAT!!)
  12. For reference: Here in Siem Reap, Cambodia, most boxed electrical goods are opened by the staff so that the goods can be seen working (or not) when plugged into an electricity supply. The purchaser can then buy and the box repacked. MAKRO in Siem Reap is a good example, where I recently purchased an LED desk light after testing. IMO this behaviour is not bizarre or annoying, it is "peace of mind" knowing what I bought works properly.
  13. I just completed this quiz. My Score 40/100 My Time 229 seconds
  14. Yes indeed Simon, and best wishes from me. Good luck with the Burmese language studies.
  15. Leaving victims frothing at the mouth?
  16. He had to put his heart and "soul" into his personal urges.
  17. I see this country heads the list! More scammers and fraudsters, just what Thailand needs as "tourists"
  18. The car driver certainly "upset the apple cart"!! Reference (Google)- This expression started out as upset the cart , used since Roman times to mean “spoil everything.” The precise idiom dates from the late 1700s.
  19. To be honest, I do not see the relevance of "Panama-flagged" There must be many Panama-flagged ships around the World - flag of convenience. Congratulations Phuket authorities for rescuing the Indonesian crew member. No further comment from me.
  20. Surely this should be "nightime robbery'?😄
  21. Interesting photos and yes, a reminder of ex-colonial days as I witnessed in Rangoon during my visits. Despite the state of disrepair, how fascinating to see satellite "dishes" on the roof tops.
