For reference in today's Cambodian media (17 October 2022):- Customs officials say they have intercepted over seven kilogrammes of heroin allegedly bound for Taiwan as part of a joint programme with international logistics agencies...............found a large consignment containing a water heater and four cases of dried durian originating from Cambodia and addressed to Taiwan.................The water heater was found to be concealing 10 bricks of heroin weighing 3.7 kg. The packages bore a logo of two lions standing on a globe. With respect, before moving to Cambodia, I made many crossings from Thailand and I was never charged an inflationary price for a visa. Always the official 30$ in cash (there is usually an ATM in the vicinity). For reference:- Complete an application form, present with your passport, a passport sized photo and cash for the fee for a Visa on Arrival which is US$30 for a tourist visa and US$35 for business visas. You must pay in US dollars in cash.

As a retired UK police forensic scientist, IMO the team's behavior was disgraceful. The first most important action is the preservation of the scene with only authorized investigating and support officers entering the cordoned off area (to prevent contamination). But this is Thailand and the Koh Tao murder scene comes to mind with, IMO, the wrongful prosecution of the two Burmese lads.

For reference, here in Cambodia, the Government is offering all resident foreigners a free single entry pass to visit the Angkor Wat Archaeological Park to help boost local associated tourism. The foreigners, in employment or retired, must have resided in the Royal Kingdom for 2 complete years. The free pass is worth 37$ (39 GBP, 1400 Baht).
