  1. they may ask a new passport. As stated in previous post they might find it not enough (actually its ok and normal). This is something you need to talk with the immigration. what my friend did was, he applied for a new passport asked a letter from the embassy to prove it and showed it to immigration and they were ok after few discussion about the situation. Although it took probably 10 days for the new passport. He went next year for the next extension and immigration was totally ok You can ask your embassy here how long it takes to get a new passport and organize yourself. PS: i have non-b and never got a under consideration stamp. Its always like extension or need to do more paper work and come back. I think consideration is for non-o types
  2. Your employer lied to you. I just got that plastic social security card a month ago because i had to use for thai pass. Insist to get that card. My HR also said the same thing but then she check with the office and found out that card is still in the game. It took 1 month to get it. Gobernment office doing it slowly. Also as mentioned before my wallet app will do too.
  3. Is there any original of your wife signature on any documents you are taking to the embassy? Check really good. If there is one forget abiut my suggestion.. but if you are really sure that there is no signature of your wife on any paper.... then just sign them. Practice a signature. As probably you know thais dont have complicated signatures. Just create a simple one ???? i did like this fee years ago for khon kaen immigration. My boss forgot to sign 1 paper and immigration didnt accept it. It was my last day, when i went back to office he was not there and no where to be found. So i put the paper he signed on a window (sun wqs behind the window) then put the paper he forgot to sign, well i just copy the sign. It was not good of course but not bad too. Immigration didnt even check anything, got the visa.. you can try this too if your wifes signature is on any paper too. Just print some and try to copy over your wifes s8gnature. Take the best one with you. or ask your wife to send her signature to you via email. Copy from there. prepare a reason for you too if they ask whats wrong with the signature. You can tell she signed them on the bus, car, etc. She forgot to signed 1 and she signed in a hurry in tuk tuk.. etc. Something like that ps: im pretty sure they will not accept black link or printed out copy signatures. You need a wet signature with blue link. For them black link means copy. ps 2: i think kor2 document (the one showes you guys are married) have her and your signature. You can also copy from there Good luck
  4. thnx what is the monthly amount for that? to get visa and work permit
  5. can someone work as a part time with any kind of visa, tourist, retirement visa, etc.? Also can part time get a non-b visa from the place he is working? my friend (thai) want to hire someone for part time to their university but doesnt know if he can hire someone on any visa type than non-b or non-o marriage. thanks
  6. I heard no more thai pass for farangs after 1 june. Wait for the news i would say. at the moment only for thai's no thai pass
  7. Thats depend on your nationality i believe. So far my 17 years in thailand and working, i never did that. I have farang co-workers in my office they didnt do either. But we had 1 guy from cameroon i know he had to get police clearence from thai police station. I give all the documents i wrote in my previous post to my office and they do the thing. I also heard legalising degrees. And i know it takes time. I heard like 1 month. Again like i said i never did it and i have work permit. If you want to play safe, i believe you are still in your country. Just go to your university and do it. Nothing to lose. But dont forget you need to prove it here at ministery of foreign affairs. Maybe someone else can give you a better answer about that. But again i never did it and labor office didnt say anything about it so far. Good luck Just remembered, i always add my copy of degree transkated into thai by khon kaen university. I have no idea it does any good or not. But i always add it. It has some nice stamp from the university on it too. Another thing, just talked with my friend who extended her visa a month ago. She told me chang wattana only asked her (she has non-b) letter from the work, house rent contract. Thats it
  8. Me and my friend entered 2 weeks ago... no face sensor or whatever. they just check your vaccination status and give you some sticker to put on your shirt. Green for no quarantine and red for quarantine. Then you continue walking and then immigration check your thai pass QR... thats all if you will stay at quarantine hotel the drivers are waiting before all the process so they can lead you no sensor at all. I think they mean temperature scanners. which i didnt even see 1 but if you think you are covid, better not to come. Get well and come is better. dont risk other people
  9. yes you can get a work permit and can work with non-o marriage visa. Thats what i was on. and actually its easier than non-b just give your working place your copy of marriage certificate / copy wife ID/ copy of wife house book (blue book) / copy of Kor2 (thats the paper she can get from the place she is registered, it shows her status), copy of your degrees. copy of your passport. thats it ohh and i think 1 big photo for the first time if you are getting your work permit. Also need a health certificate for the labor office which you can get from a local clinic around 100-200 baht. Dont forget to add that blood test too which is around 150 baht. dont listen people telling you that you need to go to a hospital. Any REGISTERED clinic will do it very cheaper than hospitals. When you get it check the blue clinic stamp. dont forget to sign all copies (only the copies of YOUR details). Your wife will sign her Id and house book also. good luck
  10. Hi, So got a 3 month Non-B visa based on work. Need to extend it at the immigration, no problem.. 3 month Non-B visa will expire in august, contract till september (it will renew for another 2 years) Is there anyway to avoid going to immigration 2 times and extend it 2 times? Because if i go to immigration they will extend it till end of my contract which is in september, then after september i need to go again to extend it till my new contract time... A way to avoid this is to talk with the work place and ask them help about this. Is there any other way at the immigration or else? Thanks
  11. you are right. i was trying to explain another thing but yes, it looks like different. lol
  12. Just play safe. Download the tm30 mobile app. Register the house owner (takes 5min) and put your name as living there. All procedure takes max 10min. Screenshot in every steps your doing. Thats it. No more nightmares when you are sleeping. Nothing to lose to do it. Thats what i did. If the immigration cannot find your tm30 or else, show the app, or screenshots. Really so easy with the mobile app.
  13. This is what one of the new guys in my office did, He changed or cancelled his non-b from the old work to covid visa or extension. And our office preapered the documents in 2 or 3 days the he went there again and got his 1 year extension based on work. He has a wife who is not thai, she also got 1 year extension. So it is possible. But i strongly suggest you to confirm this with the immigration you will do your extension just like he confirmed with the immigration. I also remember that he talked with the immigration at udon thani when cancelling and explained his plan to IO, then the IO asked him for any evidence and he showed a letter from my company. Then he gave him covid extension or whatever it call, and canceled his non-b. When he came to CW bangkok, IO called udon thani immigration and confirmed the story. And with the paper work from the office he got it Another way is, if the new school can preapare all the documents on time, you can go to immigration with the termination letter. You can swift your extension for the new work. All this must be in the same day, this is what my other friend did 3 or 4 years ago. Didnt need to leave the country. Well another option is the most known one. Leave the country and get a new non-b. I heard laos is opening real soon. First way seems the best but please check with the immigration. Second way is also easy but risky because everything must be on the same day. Third seems the most time and money wasting way but the most sure way Good luck.
  14. Yes, no need to leave thailand and you can continue with your non-b BUT the whole thing must be in the same day which you said your new school cannot finish the papers in time. If they can, get a work termination letter from your old school. Be very very careful with the date on it. That day is your last day in thailand and your visa. With that letter and the documets from your school go to immigration. They will continue with your non-b without you need to leave the country. The thing here is, your new school must finish all documents before your last date on that letter
  15. Dont know if it will help you but this is what my friend at work (he started new, few months ago) did. Cancelles his non-b, immigration gave hin that covid thing and in the same day our office preapered the documents. He went there and he got extension for 1 year with working reason. So most likely you can do.
  16. There were many posts so i stopped reading after 5th or 6th. So im not sure if you got your answer or not but for your questions: Finger scan is really every where. I had just 2 weeks ago when leaving thailand at the airport. My friend finger printed when crossing the border. In and out. If they finger print him when he was entering thailand, he will be there till his ban ends. You mentioned name change and so on. He will only change his name, not skin. So most likely they will see him in the system. What will happen, most likely they will put him in some waiting room or jail and ask him to find the first flight back to home and keep him in the waiting room or in jail till he gets on plane with police escort. If he is wanted for a crime.. well that will end not good. Suggestion, I dont know why he is so desperet to come back to thailand even changing his name but i wouldnt. I would wait till it ends. Thats the safest way. OR as mentioned before you can go to immigration and ask them with your friends infos. Although.... there are some people thinking that all of that finger scan or if there is a connection between any immigration or it works are just a urban legend.. worth the try, nah.
  17. Im sorry if this is the wrong section. On monday (16 may) i heard many offices and works will be off because of some religious day. I was wondering if anyone knows CW immigration will be off too on Monday. Thanks
  18. UPDATE: He got the visa. Got the email from thai embassy this morning. Thanks to all reply and advices
  19. Farang doesnt mean european. It is actually from french... obvious reasons. Also its a very high level word. They use this word for all white people. Also farang means allien which is tourist. And he is turkish national.
  20. I see. So do you think it will be a problem even if he shows his work permit and other things related or showing he is working there?
