im sorry OP but whats the problem here? i mean he called the bank and the bank confirmed plus slips and so on. then he asked for 2000 baht. Need more detail. did he tell to you like if you give 2000 i can do it or everything can be ok for a 2000 baht? there is no unknown thing.. did you get a slip after you pay that 2000? was it 2000 or 1900? You said after paying him another 2000 baht.. did you pay him before 2000 baht? like mentioned before i think extension is 1900 baht, so is that 2000 baht that one? I think you are wrong what you are trying to say. It seems that the immigration just make things easier for you and did his job correctly. I think that money is for the visa extension not a bribe.

If we get back to the real topic OP actually Laos is open by air ti vientiene. Im not sure if the embassy in sav is open or not. Actually i believe it is open. why dont you give them a call? But im not sure what you need for the visa to Laos. And also im not sure if there is a flight to Thailand, but i think lao airways has one but not everyday.

BKK - SGN airasia is 4150 baht + hotel + expenses = i really dont think its cheaper than savanakhet... my whole non-o trip to savanakhet is not more than 5000 baht and im doing it from bkk

savanakhet is one of the best place to get your non-o visa. For many reasons. the best reason is its really easy to get it, also its almost walking distance from esan area... im sorry i dont know what you are talking about cheap flights but its so easy for the people living in or around esan. I dont know Saigon but it takes a night stay to get your visa in savanakhet (1 day application, next day take your visa). you are still in a known atmosphere, laos and thailand is almost same. Thai embassy there is really friendly... like i said many reasons... my home is in Khon kaen and lived there 10 years but now also bought another house in BKK and still do my visa non-o at savanakhet.

well, if it cannot mention covid coverage, dont you think there is something to think? I mean who knows if the insurance company will make problem in the future, which we all know they really like to do. Also its already 3 years with covid why travel insurance cannot do something or mention it? Dont get me wrong, i ask because i dont have. My work already did for me also i have thai social security. So when i read or listen i have some questions. thats all So, if immigration wants things just like no problem is it a problem?

i dont understand why people are talking about covid insurance. Well, i know few days back they also added some other details into it but i checked the insurance company which posted in this forum many times (im sorry dont have the link) and it is only 3700 baht (50K usd) I mean you are coming to thailand for holiday or other reason, and you are complaining about an insurance which is only 3700 baht (cheaper than your hotel and tests) plus it can actually work if you are positive for your good.

if you have the chance of cancel, do it and if you already paid.. try to get refund. everyone knows it will be only 1 day. Also hotels should be cheaper. they still start from 3000, should be at least half after march

instant confirmation hotels listed in the post are still starting from 3000 and going up. Also their website is still including 5th day. so i wonder do they know about the only 1 day news or not (which is almost confirmed so everyone agree on it). If so... so whats the point if they will still charge like the old rules. So another thing is wouldnt it be better to post the hotels after when the only 1 day thing comes out? I think the prices should fall at least half and maybe more. If any hotel charges more than 2000 its not ok at all. Also prime minister announced that he really wants PR tests get cheaper.

Hi, I am just wondering why immigration dont give people full information. Well, we all check their websites... we use this forum for information, we ask people..blah blah etc. But we never have the info we need! Here is an example: to get non-o visa (if you have thai wife) web site says evidence of marriage or something like that. But what is it? is it the paper work.. no! is it marriage certificate.. no! but it is photos... so why they just dont say it or write it on their website or anywhere else?! Why they dont say you need a photo in front of your house with house number with your wife?! Is it too difficult to do that? why they dont?! Even the list at their immigration office. its totally not clear! why they dont make it clear, update... What they ask or post, or what many people tell you on this forum is mostly different then what they want at the immigration.. so why?! same for the immigration! what they post is totally different then what they want when you go to immigration!!! why?! i think everyone understood already whats my point and my question... why they dont just give proper info???? whats the catch!?

I have some friends who have business or companies here with thai partners... So far not heard any scam. I think it is all up to how you chose your partner, how good you know them... etc. my opinion is whenever it comes to money, there is no thai or farang.. all can do the scam!

You can go to laos by booking one of the travel tours. And can go there only via air. Im not sure about the quaranteena but i think its about 14 days, might me less if your 3 dose vaccinated. Them you can get your visa in this time. Also another place is vietnam. They are fully openned.

@thaisail Thanks for the report. This is exactly what im going to do in a month. Could you also add the documents, paper work you gave to thai embassy there please? Also im little bit confused about thai pass. And couldnt find details about it in your report.. so please tell us little bit about that. And also please correct me if im wrong: To apply thai pass, you already should have the visa, because its one of the dpcuments you need to add when applying.. and it can take between 3 to 7 days. Most reports say 5-7 days. So.. from your trip report, it seems there is something there.. i mean you wrote like you managed to get your thai pass eveb before you got your visa from thai embassy in cambodia.. many reports say they applied thai pass AFTER they got their visa from thai embassy and had to wait another 5 or 7 days to get the approval.. can you explain how did you do that so i will do the same. @ubonjoe any ideas? First of all you need to admit that it is your fault and you caused the damage. full stop. if it was happened to you, im pretty sure you would ask more, and complain that thais are acting bad to farangs. secondly, again if it was you, you would take your car to the honda service and ask the repair price. in this case to be honest 50K is really not bad. thirdly if you go to court most likely you will lose the case. as it was mentioned accept it apologize and accept the 50K thats the best way and gentleman way. plus it is the right thing to do. I would indeed go to the police station so police will be my eye witness that i paid the money but here i would ask the car owner to show me the bill. would be a good idea. Most likely police will also try to solve the problem at the station. What you can do here is you can tell them you are not working or other things to drop the bill little bit, maybe 10K, find something good. If you act friendly to the car owner and the cops they will help you most likely. Also next time keep in mind that it could fall on some kid. you know this thing can make you blind

well written comment, though dont you think actually what you are saying is trying to change the things. with your words 'a stupid rule' is a rule and many thai people respect and do. not trying to be offensive but i dont think it is our place to complain or call it 'a stupid rule' while living in another country... this is my opinion. 'a stupid thing' might be not 'a stupid thing' for another person. maybe you are right or not, but must respect. i remember my british father (he is an idiot) keep complaining about the things where i was born (my mother's country) and to be honest i hated that every time he was complaining. he also keep calling things 'stupid'. I think there are things we can make comments and talk on it, but there are things we just need to shut up and respect. We all know there are many rules here are funny, example is immigration things. All im trying to say is we must stop calling things 'stupid' unless its against our rights or others and respect and act properly, thats all. 1 day not drinking beer will not kill you. if it is... then you dont need a beer but a therapist. Like i said in my first years in thailand i was also like why i cannot buy, im not buddhist.. but later i have learned to respect. this is not a thing or rule will affect my life.. actually i like the thing, it shows us actually not to drink, rest your body, do something good for your health and so on.. there are things you really need to respect and one of them is religion. you practise or not, you believe or not but again i think we cannot make negative comments about it 'Of course it makes no sense and stinks of religious hypocrisy'. lets not forget we are living in a buddhist country. doing this rule is showing a respect to people and the religion. go under the car and check if there is a hole there. if it is leaking from the windows it would be easy to see it. obviously not from the top of the car. you said its wet so i think there is no small pond yet. that means water might come from the under after you drive. also yes, its a good idea to take out everything from the car and check again. You girlfriend can pure water from a hose and you can try to check the water inside the car. Do it for a long time though. i would start from the front window and go down to engine area. i think its coming from somewhere there because both sides are wet. use lot of water for the test

dont know where you are but im pretty sure any big shops around you can do the magic. You would surprise that even some small shops can do it better than bigs. If i were you i would check some roofs around you and you can ask who did it. or just ask around whose the best around. im sure you will get your answer.

Just to respect the culture and people and also to the religion, i wouldnt do that. not drinking beer for 1 day wouldnt kill you but even do some good for you ???? before i found it so stupid that i cannot buy a beer because im not a buddhist but now its not bothering me.
