  1. EV only Brands only can one option reduce pricing Brands that build ICE/Hybrid/EV if the market is slowing down they reduce production for that car line and switch their production resources to another one
  2. Spouting Rubbish Last year the total EV sales for R,Y,1 were 86,075 so you reckon by the end of this year number of EV sales based on 50% growth will be 129,112 currently EV sales for the past 6 month stands at 28,651 that means another 100,461 EV to be sold or 16,743 each month over the next 6 months you were spouting the same rubbish a few months ago https://aseannow.com/topic/1320318-bye-bye-electric-hello-hydrogen/page/5/#comment-18710401 I don't believe that the number of ev's sold in 2024 will be more than the 80,075 sold in 2023 I think the finally numbers forthe year ending 31st January 2025 will be between 60-70,000
  3. I think you living in cloud cuckoo land majority of EV manufacturers in Thailand have already downgraded their sales forecast figures for 2024 they are not expecting to sell as many EV as they did in 2023 Hence BYD and MG moving to hybrid's as they are expecting hybrid sales to increase over the next 6 months
  4. Last year the total EV sales for R,Y,1 were 86,075 so you reckon by the end of this year number of EV sales based on 50% growth will be 129,112 currently EV sales for the past 6 month stands at 28,651 that means another 100,461 EV to be sold or 16,743 each month over the next 6 months As of 31st July 2024 there is 44,716,614 vehicles registered in Thailand of those 44 milion plus vehicles 12,060,533 R,Y,1 vehicles so i suspect looking for an EV is like looking for a needle in a haystack
  5. Number of EV's registered in July 2023 5055 Number of EV's registered in July 2024 5468 % growth year on for July is 8.171% or an additional 413 vehicles
  6. Number of EV's registered in July 2023 5055 Number of EV's registered in July 2024 5468 % growth year on for July is 8.171% or an additional 413 vehicles
  7. Are you working for TAT don't know where you get your 33% from and these figures are for the February 1st 2023 to 31st July 2023 and February 1st 2024 to 31st July 2024

  9. If you interested in brand new neta v suggest you look at the neta ev facebook groups some dealers offering brand new at B372K There are people looking to sell their neta V because they want to upgrade to neta x one year old cars prices start from around B210K 19Km https://autolifethailand.tv/special-discount-official-price-neta-v-ev-thailand-july2024/
  10. You wouldn't want to be a person that buys at launch When MG ZS EV was launched in June 2019 price was B1,190,000 MG ZS EV, 100% electric car: 1,190,000 baht https://www.headlightmag.com/offcial-photo-mg-zs-ev-thailand/
  11. MG ZS B599,000 https://www.mgcars.com/th/Promotion/Detail/NEW-MG-ZS-promotion
  12. 100,000 km over eight years is average 12,500 km per year This site provides Historical Retail Oil Prices going back to 2015 so you should be able to work out your fuel costs for each year rather than take current fuel cost and x that by 8 https://www.bangchak.co.th/en/oilprice/historical?year=2024
  13. The Seal Premium has a 650km range based on NEDC which it would appear that most Seal Premium owners on this forum feel doesn't match real driving This Post states " I have the BYD Seal Premium which is rated at 650 km, realistically I get around 580 km but I do drive conservatively. My efficiency is currently: 13.6 kWh/100 km Battery 80 kw divided by 13.6 = 5.88 x 100 = 588 km range." https://aseannow.com/topic/1257405-electric-vehicles-in-thailand/page/180/#comment-18807216 or if driving a Seal performance range drop's to 450km as this poster stated It costs about 330 baht to fill the battery from PEA for a range of 580km, realistically 450km if you welly it, which I do. https://aseannow.com/topic/1257405-electric-vehicles-in-thailand/page/180/#comment-18807216 And you are incorrect about your assumption that I have ZERO experience of EV's
  14. Here is a detailed chart of the different ranges EPA range and 75% and gives detail on what the 75% means in real life https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=365936039288149&set=a.176402778241477 In Both the EPA range ( light green) and the 75% range (dark green ) the MG ZS EV peforms better than the MG EP Plus according to the chart
  15. As ICE vehicles had 100% market share before EV it's expected that ICE vehicles will lose a % of market share as once you have 100% market share you can only decrease your market share as its impossible to increase market share if you have 100% share of the market if you read the EV facebook group pages the same question always comes up during major public holidays in Thailand from owners that have both ICE and EV's and that question is should I take my ICE or my EV for a long trip and the answer is for long trips take during major holidays take the ICE not everyone has a Byd seal that has a decent range large number of EV's have nearly 50% of the range of a Byd seal premium going on a long trip and its a choice between Byd seal premium and MG EP Plus its a no brainer Byd seal wins hands down
  16. DLT Numbers indicated that ICE vehicles are substantially increasing each year compare to EV For 2024 257,760 people purchased R.Y.1 ICE compared to 28,651 purchasing an EV A whopping 229,109 people chose ICE vehicles over an EV For 2023 577,821 people purchased R,Y,1 ICE compared to 75,707 purchasing an EV Combined R.Y.1 ICE figures for 2023 and 2024 indicate a whopping 835,581 new ICE vehicles compared to 104,358 EV's In manufacturing terms they focus on how many vehicles did they sell and how many vehicles did their competitors sell in the same vehicle category
  17. you posted " that suggests people are turning away from EV's and buying ICE instead when the opposite is true." which is incorrect as the DLT stats prove otherwise As for people buying an ICE car now going to be kicking themselves in the future. we will have to wait and see
  18. Clearly Before EV's ICE had 100% market share and when Ev's started selling the 100% market share would be reduced I stated that the number of EV sales dropped by 4,086 compared to the same period as last year majority of people alreadly know the reasons why automotive sales in Thailand are down this year Did I suggest that people are turning away from EV's and buying ICE NO I didn't and your post that suggests the opposite is happening people are buying EV's instead of ICE is clearly incorrect and the published figures from DLT show 257,760 people purchased ICE compared to 28,651 purchasing an EV A whopping 229,109 people chose ICE vehicles over an EV And here is my original post which is factually correct "I know EV sales are slighty down for the 6 months of this year February to July 2024 compared to the same period in 2023 "
  19. You hoped that your selective posting and misleading posts would remain hidden and unoticed
  20. Looking at the above post gives the impression that no-one is buying ICE vehicles anymore Department of Land Transport publishes registrations figures What we do know is between 1st February 2024 to 31st July 2024 for the DLT category R.Y. 1 Private passenger car with no more than 7 people which doesnt include all cars as there are many cars including EV's that come under different DLT categories The Total number of registrations including ev's are 257,760 the number of ev's within that number are 28,651 https://web.dlt.go.th/statistics/
  21. Not sure what a bygt salmon is but I don't have one
  22. Only in your opinion And as stated R.Y. 1 Private passenger car with no more than 7 people which doesnt include all cars as there are many cars including EV's that come under different DLT categories The Total number of registrations including ev's are 257,760 the number of ev's within that number are 28,651 So 229,109 people that registered there new car purchase under R.Y. 1 Private passenger car with no more than 7 people chose ICE over EV as their preferred choice
  23. There is a thread here that Ford Thailand is sold out until 2025 Ford Everest Platinum Sold Out This Year... Chances of waiting to get in early 2025
  24. Absolute Rubbish my posts are not misleading I simply posted the facts that EV sales are down for the period 1st February 2024 to 31st July 2024 compared to the same period last year I am sure forum members can make their own minds up about the state of EV sales We are all aware that the majority of EV brands have reduced their prices by as much as B340,000 manufacturers reduce the price of their products for a number of reasons but its mainly oversupply and lack of demand A number of EV's have stated they are against reducing prices and would prefer it comes to an end as soon as possible I don't recall the Late Steve Jobs or the current Apple CEO Tim Cook going stating Hey Guys I know Apple sales are doing better than expect but I have a brilliant idea lets reduce the product price by 35% What we do know is between 1st February 2024 to 31st July 2024 for the DLT category R.Y. 1 Private passenger car with no more than 7 people which doesnt include all cars as there are many cars including EV's that come under different DLT categories The Total number of registrations including ev's are 257,760 the number of ev's within that number are 28,651
  25. Before EV's existed ICE had 100% market share so when a new kid comes on the block its natural that ICE will lose some of its % market share to EV's Similar to VHS and Betamax before betamax VHS had 100% market share In 1984 Betamax sales Peaked Sales of Betamax videocassettes reached their peak in 1984, when Sony shipped 50 million units, according to the company. Soon after they became obsolete, living fossils. https://fortune.com/2015/11/10/betamax-sony-kill/ Betamax recorders continued to be manufactured and sold until August 2002, when Sony announced that they were discontinuing production of all remaining Betamax models. Sony continued to sell blank Betamax cassettes until March 2016 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betamax
