  1. Thats not evidence, evidence needs to come from an offical source and as you know The numbers I provided was every vehicle that is required to register with the DLT including electric motor cycles The stats provided by @ExpatOilWorker only represent a single category of type of road vehicle and that is category R.Y. 1 Private passenger car with no more than 7 people and as aa result are not a true representation of all ICE vehicles registered with the DLT

  4. What you have posted is misleading and incorrect and doesn't support figures release by the DLT % are meaninless Auto Brands are mainly focused on number of vehicles sold and how did we do compared against our competition July 1st 2024 EV sales continue to drop driven by tight economic conditions Data from the Department of Land Transport indicate that the EV market has not been particularly strong since the beginning of the year. January recorded the highest number of registrations for the year at 13,321 units, driven partly by a rush to register before the January 31 deadline to qualify for benefits under the EV promotion plan, EV 3.0, which offers a 2% excise tax and a subsidy of up to 150,000 baht. This rush led to a sharp decline in registrations the following months. If the cumulative total for the first five months is extrapolated for the entire year, EV sales are expected to be close to 76,000 units, considerably lower than the overall projection of between 100,000 to 130,000 units. https://www.nationthailand.com/blogs/business/automobile/40039276

BYD customers appeal to the Consumers' Foundation to return their cars and receive compensation for the price difference On July 25, 2024, Mr. Thanat Thamisakun, Director of the Consumer Protection Center, Foundation for Consumers and Head of the Bangkok Provincial Office of the Consumer Council, revealed that a group of BYD car users had filed a complaint with the foundation for assistance.. The head of the Consumer Protection Center of the Consumer Council revealed that the council will collect the damages of the complainants and will coordinate with the car sales company to provide compensation to the victims. Today, the demands of the complainants have been mutually agreed upon and the following proposals have been made: 1. Let the company buy back the said car model. 2. Compensate the difference as car buyers should receive, namely the ATTO 3 model at a price of 400,000 baht and the Dolphin model at a price of 220,000 baht... https://www.prachachat.net/motoring/news-1616079 I can't see this going anywhere but there are similar complaints in the Neta facebook groups about Neta recent price reductions People are saying don't buy when vehicle is launched wait for at least 3 price reductions before you buy

  13. Thanks you might find this article is an interesting read In this article, we apply Everett Rogers’ theory, Diffusion of Innovations, to electric car innovations in order to understand some of the characteristics of current early adopters of electric vehicles. In our examination of the EV adoption curve, we find five segments of adopter groups: Innovators, Early Adopters, Early Majority, Late Majority, and Laggards. https://www.exro.com/industry-insights/early-adopters-of-electric-vehicles-the-ev-adoption-curve Diffusion of Innovation Theory https://sphweb.bumc.bu.edu/otlt/mph-modules/sb/behavioralchangetheories/behavioralchangetheories4.html EV adoption curve has to include all vehicles on the road otherwise EV's will never be considered mass market if the majority of vehicles on the road are ICE

  16. My numbers aren't fudge as they are available on the DLT website for everyone to view And why don't we include all vehicle categories as I did for both ICE and EV's
  17. The numbers I provided was every vehicle that is required to register with the DLT including electric motor cycles The stats provided by @ExpatOilWorker only represent a single category of type of road vehicle and that is category R.Y. 1 Private passenger car with no more than 7 people and as aa result are not a true representation of all ICE vehicles registered with the DLT As you yourself stated numbers don't lie

Between January and June, BMW Group Thailand saw an over 40% surge in EV sales, with 950 EVs registered during this six-month period.
  20. As I stated you were lucky to sell when you did before MG reduced the price by B100,000 which has a knock on effect with resale values and increases depreciation MG EP Plus was launched November 2021 priced at 998,000 baht Current price is B671,000 which is a 32.7% reduction in price or B327,000
  21. Listing a Car on Guy Fawkes Day 5th November 2023 priced at B699,000 or nearest offer and then listing again on January 21st 2024 at a reduced price of B599,000 and finally selling 30th January 2024 doesn't sound like there was many buyers biting at the B699,000 price November 5th 2023 B699,000 Lucklly it was sold before MG reduced the new price to B671,000
  22. but in real numbers Majority of cars sold this year were ICE vehicles hundred of thousands compared to 24K EV's
  23. Overall maybe 10-11% of the new vehicles purchased still leaves ICE with 89-90% share
  24. Rubbish More ICE vehicles were sold in the last 5 months compared to EV as previously stated if you have 100% market share there is only one way to go
  25. And still very small numbers compared to ICE vehicles
