  1. The deposit agency make it crystal clear what is covered Protected Deposit Products Protected deposit products are deposit accounts that are opened at member financial institutions under the Deposit Protection Agency Act. They must be denominated in Thai baht and must be opened within the country. Currently, there are 5 types of protected deposits: Current deposit accounts Savings deposit accounts Fixed deposit accounts Certificates of deposit Deposit receipts https://www.dpa.or.th/en/articles/view/protected-deposit-products So that means FCD ( Foreign currency deposit accounts) in Euros, Dollars Sterling or any other currency excluding Thai baht are not covered by the Protected deposit

  7. scams occur worldwide not just exclusively to Thailand, many times I have seen listings on a well known US/UK website where the seller is selling a phone at an unbelievable low starting price and you see lots of people bidding on those items , it only when you read the listing in detail and you find out their not selling a phone , their selling the box of the phone. Over here on well known sales sites if no feedback, doesn't accept COD or has few followers or has only created their selling page 10 days ago are all warning signs
  8. I think you will find websites are Easier to close, cut and run. How to Determine if a Website is a Fake, Fraud or Scam – updated for 2020 https://blog.webnames.ca/how-to-determine-if-a-website-is-a-fake-fraud-or-scam/ Many websites have no contact details , no address or if a address is listed it turns out to moorland in the middle of nowhere Regardless if a business operates on a website only operation or a facebook page operation due diligence is required If they are offering a product 50% lower than everyone else or a product that only they have stock no they have no feedback be aware
  9. Majority of small businesses in Thailand only have a Facebook page, easier to create and maintain and update and doesn't require expensive IT support to maintain and update on their timeline not the business owners timeline, that and expensive hosting and domain name fees. For people that choose to not use businesses that have a facebook presence only that their choice but in doing so they have to understand they might not be getting the best deal that is available.
  10. Hopefully someone will come along and say you can do better with your max budget of 26000 baht but its a starting point

  14. Can you get Full Array Local Dimming on a 55" within a budget of 20K
  15. Toolong Yes it is a minefield, If I was you I wouldn't get 2 hung up on the different terms Start with working out Min/Max Budget ( ideally 10K difference between min and max) then decide min/max size (more often or not size is restricted to TV location or your wife may decide she doesn't want a certain size as it would dominated the room. Then make a shortlist of TV's I would have 2 lists Chinese brands and well known brands Oled Tv's prices start at around 35K for 48" going up to 100K plus Full Array Local Dimming is not normally on lower end tv's prices start from 25K upwards You Wife is partially correct in the view that a more expensive item must be better than a cheaper item In that the more expensive item will have more options and better materals in the build Local Dimming on TVs Direct-Lit, Full-Array, and Edge-Lit https://www.rtings.com/tv/tests/picture-quality/local-dimming QLED vs OLED vs LED TVs Which one is the best? https://www.rtings.com/tv/learn/qled-vs-oled-vs-led
  16. Toolong, You might find this helpful is trying to locate a best value for money tv don't focus to much on model numbers as this is primarly for the UK https://www.avforums.com/threads/new-my-best-value-tvs-2020-2021-edition.2325951/#post-28625711 based on your previous answers you should be looking at TVs with narrow viewing angles, but better contrast, blacks and dark room/scene performance Now one of the models they mention in the 55-60 section is the Hisense 58A7100 (UK model number) if we look at the Hinsense Thailand website the same model is there . 58A7100F price 19,000 baht https://www.hisense.co.th/products/overview/20 https://hisense.co.uk/tvs/
  17. as it is a family car I would look at what safety equipment is supplied as standard as there are some new cars sold today with only 2 airbags. Another model to consider is the Nissan Almera as news cars start from 499,000 although I prefer cars that the rear seats can fold flat such as the Yaris and the Jazz
  18. You might want to check out the Honda thread from last week regarding city

  20. how far will your wife be sitting from the tv and will she be viewing the tv straight ahead or her or at at an angle Also will there be any direct lighting on the tv such as sunlight I wouldn't get o focused on brands as you can have a TV that is unsuitable for your needs and one that is suitable both from the same brand TV Size to Distance Calculator and Science https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/by-size/size-to-distance-relationship if she is sitting 15ft from the TV she is unlikely to see any benefit from a 4k 55" TV showing 4k Content some tv's will have narrow viewing angles some tv's will have wide viewing angles some tv's will perform worse if there is direct sunlight on the TV compared to other TV's
  21. If you haven't done so alreadly its worth checking out https://www.kimovil.com/en/ for comparing phones if you check the AnTuTu scores you will see Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro 4GB 64GB score 89,000 Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro 6GB 128GB 336,250 Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE 6GB 128GB 512,000 Poco F3 6GB 128GB 714,008 Is the Mi 11 Lite 5G NE going to be 6 times faster than your current phone or the redmi note 10 pro 4 times faster than your current phone I don't know
  22. I bought a Mi Max 3 28 months ago 4GB + 64GB for 5,400 with a Snapdragon™ 636 speed wise i don't have an issue however I do feel the cameras have improved vastly over the past 2 years mi max 3 has 8 megapixel front camera and front camera 12 million pixels + 5 million pixels no macro camera so I can understand why your looking to double your spec against your current model. If I was buying a new phone today I would appreciate the 120Hz AMOLED display and the dolby atmos speakers and the better cameras would i use or noticed increase ram and faster processor not sure
  23. Poco F3 starts from 10,097 baht here for the 6GB 128GB storage https://www.lazada.co.th/products/1000-poco-f3-5g-6gb-128gb8gb-256gb-global-version-smartphone-snapdragon-870-octa-core-6gb-128gb-667-120hz-e4-amoled-display-i2272246686-s7632656154.html?spm=a2o4m.searchlist.list.98.39765281moNezm&search=1&freeshipping=1 I think you need to consider is 6GB LPDDR5 RAM and a snapdragon 870 and 120Hz AMOLEDDual Dolby Atmos® speakers and additional camera a decent enough upgrade Also worth considering is Xiaomi offer 3 generations of Android system upgrades, along with 4 years of security patches https://blog.mi.com/en/2021/09/09/xiaomi-to-offer-3-android-system-upgrades-and-4-years-of-security-patches-for-xiaomi-11t-series/ Have to wait and see if the Android system upgrades will apply to all new phones or just the flagship phones
