"All these many many threads do is inflame the populace, cause apprehension, spread fear - to what end ?"
Some folk get a perverted desire out off creating A & D, Alarm and Despondency, I totally agree the rumor mongers and spreaders of fear should go, where ? far away to a place with no connection to the net.

CM's smog is very bad
I grew up in a coal & cotton town in N.West of England.
Most/many family had miners in the family and burned coal on the open fires, which was sold to miners at a concessionary rate.
At certain times of the year the smog was bad, very bad, arms length was the visability as I walked home from school.
Also as I grew up all my mates smoked and very heavy at that.
Last time I was in my home town, 3 years back, none of my old mates where around and from what I could gather only one was sill alive.
Smog and smoking are in my personal opinion KIllers (I have no medical qualifications), this new virus seems to attack the old and lung infections will do for so many.

At the weekend I purchased a WD SSD.
Today I have been offered Dropbox which comes via WD, which I at first confused with Airdrop.
I downloaded Dropbox and it does same as Airdrop only IMHO it's a way of making money.
You only get a limited amount of free File space and then you must start to pay.
Even deleted files count against your total file space and I will now delete Dropbox and continue searching for my free Airdrop.

I have Catalina on my iMac and that's OK my problem is my laptop running 10. 11. 6 el Capitan, I very rarely use when I am back at my home base.
I am sure the problem is centred around Bluetooth and Wi Fi for they are the 2 items most mentioned on the internet solutions.
Cheers all info welcome.

Thank you for your advice.
I spent about 3 hrs yesterday following a long write up on problems with Airdrop not being recognized and no luck. Deleting several andthe reinstalling several apps was tried as recommended but no success.
I am convinced it's a problem on my MacBook which I rarely use, for back in my home location I am an iMac user, and no connection problems on iMac and either of my phone or pad.
Another fault is that I bought a bluetooth mouse and this is recognized by both my Phone/Pad but not by the MacBook.

I cannot use airdrop on my MacBook Pro and have been unable to connect either by using my iPhone or iPad.
The Pad and the Phone connect with each other.
I have tried asking on the net but get no useful answers.
Any help appreciated.

May I recommend Magic on third floor of Pantip Plaza. They are located at the rear on a corner, if you come up the elevator at what I call the rear then they are directly in front of you, as the corner shop.
They open at 10.30 and the owner/senior guy is usually a little later.
I have found them very good with a pleasant attitude, not the best English but they know computers both Macs and PC.
Not expensive.

I did my own visa O for retirement until the year that Thailand came to an agreement with other neighbouring countries to form Asian.
This board then started to mention big out of control numbers, of people attending immigration at it's Airport location. I was getting on in years and do not need confusion and waiting around for hours, I want that even less now.
At this time the Visa agent that I now use, opened offering a simple service to customers, pay them a fee and they would do all for you, correct paperwork, filled in by them and all I needed to do was sign on the line.
I have used them ever since for 12 month visa and 90 day report.
No hassel for me since. This year I spent 10 mins at immigration, in sit down, wait until called forward by their staff member, stand at counter have my photo taken on immigration computer and pick up my passport with new visa.
I am baffled by folk who come and complain about the problems they have with immigration.
Let a professional take the strain, I for one do not need it.

I am an escapee from Chiang Mai down on the coast.
I was in Hua Hin this morning and obtained a Sandisk Flash drive with a standard USB on one end and a USB-C on the other. I have manage to get Sendanywhere working to my satisfaction and now have tools on hand to allow me to take photos on my iPad/Phone and transfer them to my Macbook Pro. Very helpful young lady assisted me in setting up the Sandisk Flash drive, typical of Thai folk.
Thanks to all who offered advice.

Cheers, anything helps, I asked the girl on the desk at my hotel and she did not know, knew there was a parade but not why.
john

I notice a serious parade start in PKK town yesterday.
I asked one young girl about it and she says Yes and it goes on for a couple of weeks !
Anyone know just what is happening as traffic was terrible driving back from a decent meal on sea front.

Yes, its a nice place, but no beach at all, unless as stated you go the the Ao Manao military base in a taxi etc, (too far to walk for an 80+ year old!) housing could also as said be an issue, and only very few farang bars, ie 4 or 5!
I like PKK, quiet but no bars, none that I have found.
I am not a drinking man but I do enjoy the odd bottle of beer especially with a meal.
Also getting around for an elderly person would be a problem, only occasional taxi, no grab and locals use M/cycles fitted with sidecars for any distance work.
NIce town, far cheaper then Chiang Mai, I know Susuwarn resort had a friend live there for 3 years, but air pollution is killing CM, that's why I am down in PKK.
Staying in a new hotel, spotless, friendly and who will do a deal for long term stay B10,500/month paid in advance.

Well, yeah...but a few hours A YEAR? You'd rather spend three times the cost of the extension itself (or more) just to avoid a few hour of "sitting around" once a year?
In my case, YES, I would rather spend some of my money then spend a few uncomfortable hours at CM immigration.
I suppose its OK for the young pups to spend their time waiting around but at my age I just don't need the hassle.
I pay my agent and they do everything, in 2019 I was in immigration for exactly 10 mins, entering to leaving with a new 12 month visa. For my 90 day I am required to drop off then a couple of days later collect my passport from their office, even I can manage that.

Having done over 20 years in British Army I served with quite a few jocks, strangely most of my better friends where from north of the border.
Mates yes but they all had a deep understanding on Scotland/England relationship. Wales and N.Ireland never came into their logic.
In my years I never knew of or heard of a jock being persecuted for being a jock. Talk to any English who had served in a jock Battalion and the life was hell, insults daily it was all part of their way of life, as you know.
It was London money that built the Oil industry north of the border and Glasgow/Edinburgh could not have done it.
You Know that the FM's policies are bankrupting the country and you come on a board like this and attempt to defend the undefendable.
I am all for Scotland doing it's own thing, I served with to many good men to believe anything else. Your FM is running the country down due to her beliefs and you know it.

The union came about when the wealthy in Scotland bankrupted themselves and the country over the Darian Project. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=darian+scotland&atb=v168-1&ia=web
England/London bought out Scotlands problem .
The current government of Scotland is in the process of doing same again with it's extreme policies, so their leader is playing the old eternal 'It's all England's fault' and so many jocks are falling for the inbred hatred again.
Go please go and have someone else, Putin, China look after you.

I got caught during my escape from CM, exceeding 90 kph, polite officer asks if I speak Thai, Nit Noy, 120kph B500, he says in good English.
So I joined the queue about a dozen all Thai and most M/cyclists. There were all annoyed at being caught and having to cough up B500.
When my turn came to pay B500 says the cashier, but it was only B400 last time, the entire panel had a laugh.
Don't know if I will get points only time will tell.

There is an iOS app called Sendanywhere. I have not used it, but it might be what you are looking for.
Thanks, I managed to make the Sendanywhere work.
Very slow but as old and retired I have plenty of time.
I found it very difficult to follow their instructions for use. I am an old soldier and instructing is an art, not something that web developers have got 100%.

I tried to download Sendanywhere however my Macbook tells me I must be on OS X 10.14 or later, and I cannot download as my Macbook is only way I have to use my 32 bit printer.

Bann Tawai does have small companies that will make furniture to order.
I had most of mine done there back in 2003 and they delivered to CM. Not expensive and the people I used had good attitude but limited English.
