Nonsense...go to a Lottery Office...the bank is incorrect.
That's exactly as I have always known it. Frang needs a bank account and winnings are paid into his account.

Old Thai saying:
:
if you come across an Indian and a snake, kill the Indian first.
Er Yes, I first heard that on my original trip to Thailand, 41 years ago.
There are numerous Youtube videos on how folk can interfere with ATMs.

Renewed my Type O 12 month visa last week in Chiang Mai. I always use a Visa Agent, as best in town, I was with the immigration official for 5 mins max.
I was 42 days early as I like to get my admin out of the way as soon as possible.

If the ac unit is 'underpowered' however, it will have to work harder to get the temperature down by staying on longer. I have two 9000 units in my big living room and was told not to run only one of them. OK, lekky is a bit more, but ac will/should last longer.
I worked out the size I required then bought next size higher, for as the above says a machine working on its max, is not efficient overall.

Whim, fancy, voodoo, fortune telling, reading tea leaves, manipulations but very very little to do with real life economics. Somebody(s) created and sold a story.
Tend to agree with the above.
Since first coming to Thailand back in the 70s I have learned that attempting to forecast Exchange Rates is a subject beyond ordinary folk.

Queen Victoria knew all about the slave trade. Should her statue come down?
Was probably on nodding terms withe the African kings who sold their slaves to the honkey.

Bummer you weren't caught in the same providence or else you wouldn't have had to pay that second one..... You can only receive one ticket a day for speeding (non-camera) within the same providence. I was told that years ago by a Thai friend and disbelieved it until it personally happened to me a few years back in Surin.
I was caught, ticketed, and paid the fine on the spot, then caught again about 10 km down the road. I showed that officer my previous ticket and he then just waved me on.
Er Yes, Nakhorn Sawan and Lampang are different provinces and one was going south the other heading north about 6 weeks later.
Bummer for sure. My problem is I tend to stay in the flow of traffic, hence the dozen or so caught with me on way south, no idea how many where caught when I was driving north as that was a camera and letter.

During my annuall race to the coast during CM's burning season I was caught exceeding the speed limit going down about 70-80 kms north of Nakhorn Sawan B500 by police team by side of road, me and about 12 Thais. Then returning I was caught in the Lampang area and recieved a letter, summonds, B500 once again.

I have bought 3 iPads over the years. First 2 I sold off to a friend, and I still use the third an iPad Pro 11 inch.
Best toy I ever treated myself to. Second pad was iPad Pro the 12 inch size, very good but as I don't photoshop photos or do much in the way of typing I took advice on You Tube and replaced with the smaller more manageable model.
I have had one silly, my sim card with no input started to tell me I was not in contact via TRUE, which I pay a monthly charge for but was using SKY internet. To the best of my knowledge there is no SKY internet in Thailand.
Cure was to switch off, remove sim card, reboot by pressing ON and Off buttons at same time, then switch off/on after reinserting sim card.
I can watch anything on my screen on my 4K TV, via an adaptor and a HMDI Cable.

Were these transactions for several hundred thousand baht?
No memory says one was B91K at the hospital and the other around B25K.
My UOB credit card covered both though I would have prefered to use money from my UK bank.

Yeah, I'm aware of the Rimping Shopping Vouchers but have never attempted to redeem my points for them. Tell me, how many points does it take to receive 1 THB in free store merchandise? I am guessing that I'm not able to get 23,164 worth... ????
It is a bad rate. In the past I have had a cooker and a toaster, just to use the points.

John,
I think what happened was your UK bank was protecting your card from a fraudulent transaction.
Had you contacted them in advance I believe the transaction would have moved forward seamlessly.
Thank you for a polite sensible answer.
These incidents happened about 3 years ago, I phoned using Skype to my UK bank and they said that it was the Thai end that had refused payment.
From comments by Thai sales staff I have come to understand that they do have a limit, which the staff do not know, on foreign Credit Cards. Probably breaks the Rules that the card companies set.

I have never had any problem with Thai Bank issued Credit/debit cards in Thailand.
Too the best of my knowledge Thai institutions set limits on the value they will accept on overseas issued cards.
I have higher limit on my UK issued credit card but this has been refused by a Major hospital and for a TV yearly subscription, which have then automatically accepted my Thai issued credit card.

AS an article on this board said some years back, it's the desire for ethanol from the state gov that causes the excessive burning. The ethanol is used to make E20, E85 gas which saves the gov big money on imported oil, all about US $.
