  1. Yes, Bht 1352 from the calculator. But the Landlord adds some on, so charges Bht 10 per unit. By law, if he had more than 5 letting units, he can only charge the official rate plus a bit added on for maintenance.
  2. I was talking about 300 UNITS per month, not a bill of Bht 300, which is about 60 units.
  3. No, I was answering your question as to whether it would make a significant difference if it were Bht 6 per unit. And yes it would.
  4. Doooh. Say 300 units @ 10 = Bht 3000, @ 6 = Bht 1800. Simple O level arithmetic.
  5. Not in my experience. Start the 'long term' transfer before 6am, Thai time, and it will probably arrive same day at 14.05 ish as an FTT. After 6am it takes an extra day.
  6. I never realised that banks shut their computers down on Bank & Public holidays.......sarcasm emoji!
  7. Please move to appropriate forum. Thanks My 20 year old stepson and his friend are renting a room whilst studying to be teachers, somewhere near Samut Prakan. I have just learned that they are being charged Bht 10 per unit for electricity. I read somewhere on here that this is illegal. Can anyone enlighten me please, and what can be done about it. Yeh, I guess the Landlord will put the rent up to compensate.
  8. No, it will now be 4th June. Just did Bht 1000 from Revolut to Bkk Bank = instant.
  9. But it works perfectly well as a 'real' bank. Never had any problems until this slight glitch. The Verification is to combat laundering and look after MY money.
  10. It depends on whether you need the transfer to show as a Foreign/International Transfer for Immigration purposes. Wise have got their own way around this, and it has always shown as an FTT, but takes a day longer to arrive. No problem if you are not running on the bread line.
  11. I have always sent my monthly Immigration transfer via Wise to Bangkok Bank, ticking the long term stay option. This has always made it take until 14.04 the next day to arrive in Bkk Bank. Today I did exactly the same, and got the message that it would be here in 7 hours ie on 31st May, when it needs to be in June. I cancelled the transfer and will do it again later this evening so that it arrives, as a Foreign Transfer on 2nd June.
  12. But neither is Wise. Never had any problems with either in the past 10 years. Sent GBP 400 from N'wide to Wise last week and it was instant....Faster Payments System. I see Nationwide and Virgin are combining later this year. Just did 100 quid, Nationwide to Barclays, and then back again..............instant.
  13. Did GBP 4000 from Wise to Nationwide last Saturday. Immediately out of my Wise, advised that it would take 6 hours. OK, there was a UK Bank Holiday on Monday. Nationwide told me to get a Forward Trace with Wise. Money was with Nationwide all the time, for 'Verification', and arrived on Tuesday. Nationwide gave me GBP 50 for wrong information. Sent GBP 40 to Virgin Credit Card yesterday.......still not arrived, but debited from my Wise account immediately. What's going on here.
  14. Does that not depend on how much you remit to Thailand? There is a personal/wife allowance, than a substantial 0% band, then it goes up in 5%, 10% etc bands. Not too difficult to negotiate.
  15. Sir Edward, Greig and Mendelsohn for me. Oh, and Brian Wilson!
  16. At last, I agree with you ! But not mopping floors.
  17. I am the only one ! And happy with it.
  18. Do foreigners in rural villages not have internet/AN contact? I do !
  19. Starting tomorrow, individuals using mobile banking in Thailand must ensure that the name registered on their mobile SIM card matches the name on their bank account.
  20. I can log into my Bangkok Bank mobile app on a phone with my UK O2 SIM card, or on a phone without ANY SIM card.
  21. 76 and never ever tried.
