If a gang of angry locals with slingshots come round your house today, are your amazing friendly Thai neighbors who've only ever treated you with "kindness and respect" going to stand up and defend you?
But a gang is not going to attack me and never will, and I do love it here, and why dont you find a new hobby and you rain on everyone' parade.
We get it... you hate Thai and hate the country and feel unloved when you VISIT....so dont. And why post here.... you hate this place.

Very sad, but well forecasted, we have see the initial approach of Trump and the "orthodox" republican governors, say god will protect them, what you may guess, that soon a 0 shall be placed on such figures!
Biggest problem areas are democrat controlled. NYC mayor and Governor of NY ....are they not the ones who told everyone ride the subway... no need to cover your face? Blame is easy see? Lets just plow through this and pray its over soon.

What exactly does praying do?
Provides comfort. Think of it as centering yourself with meditation if it makes you feel better....or providing kind words to give hope, expressions of love etc......hope that helps.

Total bull manure!
Sure you have to try to protect your economy if you can but isolating the population is the best deterrent we have and that should take priority. If you have to borrow more money (I know the USA's debt is already staggering) to allow companies to furlough their employees then just do it! You have a moron in the White House who has totally screwed up dealing with this so far. Don't let him continue to cost lives that could be saved!
Borrow more money? Says the non-American who finds himself hyperventalating over all things American. Sure more money will be borrowed .... and when the USA falls off the cliff your drops gonna be a lot harder when you hit the ground ... no lets chill on borrowing if possible.... do what you like in your own country...I could care less!

When the number of tests completed jumped from 22k to 72k, zero new positive cases were added. So, a reasonable person would conclude that while those tests might have been performed, the results weren't counted. And, it was explained that those tests weren't counted because they were done outside the two official labs. So, if you say we did more tests but we won't tell you at all if any were positive, then you really can't count those as additional tests since the only purpose of a test is to determine if it's positive or not. That's the only reason to do a test.
Antibodies present is also very useful to know.

The whole world should learn from this
Don't test then you won't have to report confirmed cases, just basically hide them - well done Thailand
While Thailand lags behind the whole world in confirmed cases they also lag behind massively on actual testing - and no, a temperature check is not a test
A temerature check is indeed a test, especially when they are being done everywhere. It is a test for temperature. Not for virus, but never the less it can identify a person with one symptom. Nothing to be scoffed at. While NYC was telling citizens you need no mask ride the trains......
Thailands trains had virtually all in masks and had temp checks and sanitizer for use prior to boarding.
Am I impressed? Yep

Without naming them because I rely on them for treatment of a chronic health issue, one of Bangkok's biggest private hospitals has a negative-pressure wing full of Covid-19 patients, and the ICU full to the brim too. And they're apparently just overflow from the big government hospitals where it is even worse. Even my specialist said he was worried about my safety there because "Bangkok's full of it and you're safer not coming out". I tend not to believe the official numbers at all, and I dread to think how dire it is upcountry where people will be dying at home withot ever going near a regional hospital.
Name the hospital... no one is tracking you.

Would it be relatively easy to hide a 7.5% increase in hospital deaths in Thailand?
If monthly deaths in Thailand have increased 10% in the last three months then that would mean an extra 15k have died. If 25% of people die at home rather than in hospitals (my assumption), then an extra 15k deaths would only represent a 7.5% increase in hospital business. Seems like that could be ignored/hidden.
This conspiracy theory would require that all Thai hospitals remain silent about a fudging of numbers....highly inlikely in Thailand, a highly politically charged invironment.
I believe the Thai death toll.
All countries numbers are skewed on virus totals but the death toll is hard to hide unless you are China.

If it was all a big lie it would show in death toll. Thailand has this under control. Well done and THANKYOU Thailand for keeping my family and I safe here in Bangkok.

Do you really believe Prayut could lose face after declaring that it was all under control?
He's following the CPC playbook of obfuscation and lies as he knows there are so many plebs that will wolf it down and ask for more
If the hospitals in Thailand were filling up with dead bodies it would be hard to hide. I live in Bangkok and am extremely impressed and grateful to the Thai people, and yes, in this case the Thai Govt, for their handling of this. My hope is that Thailand recovers soon.

That azithromycin may have a minor role to play (not yet fully proven) along with other drugs, is an outlier and again.......antibiotics should not be used to fight virus infections.
And if you are seriously suggesting that this numbnut knows anything about this, then there is no hope.
PS. The quote about a 6 yr old child was from an American citizen, not me!
I think antibiotics are aiding in the pneumonia caused by the virus. If that is wrong feel free to tell me. But I seem to be hearing about various antibiotics being used every day from multiple sources.

I have never looked to Donald Trump for medical advice, I have sense to know a team is assembled and they, along with Trump have been addressing the nation daily.
Using this as a political football is just wrong. Mistakes were made by NYC acting on what the CDC said, and WHO said.
The South Koreans had the path to follow. The west has been primarily wrong both in preparation and execution.
Lessons to be learned, and I am sure they will be.

It is time to step up. Time to show that your entire existence is NOT JUST about you and your family. You saw you love your nation? Show it. Demonstrate it. There is alot of need out there, and the government is barely stepping up, ignorantly turning down nearly 90% of all applicants for it's assistance program.
What EXACTLY are you asking Thai people to do from the safety of your existance?

Anybody else read this in Prayuth's voice? - "if you criticize anything that means you hate Thailand". Nice try. Note I haven't said a single thing here suggesting I "hate" the country. All I'm doing is asking questions about this story's authenticity in the context of a huge online group of people who CLEARLY hate farangs. But I'm the "problem". Nice.
Bro, if you're having the time of your life in Thailand and everybody loves you then I'm genuinely happy for you. I don't have a problem with happy people going about their happy lives.
What I DO have a problem with is people who think their **** don't stink.
Seems some people either have a terribly short memory, or are deliberately glossing over the facts. I'll let the comments of many Thais from Spotlight speak for themselves:
And then there is the video made by the admin of the page in English which has since been taken down (I think there's a copy on YouTube someone uploaded but can't find it) where he clearly says
"All foreigners - young, old, man, woman, child"
"You are s***t"
"I hate you"
"Go home and die"
But apparently this is all fine because....... it's a giant joke! Hahaaaaaaa.
I guess he took down the video of his racist ranting because it was too funny? And he has never made a public apology to foreigners and clarify his position because he's too much of a funny guy?
Can I make a FB page calling on all farangs to get slingshots and shoot Thais that are out and about? And make videos about how all Thais are "insert-derogatory-slur-here"? Then when I get called out for it just claim "guys guys guys.... we were just jokiiiiiiiiing"?
The guy got the FB ban-hammer and was exposed for the hate-driven farang basher that he is, then removed all evidence and all English comments pointing to his garbage, never issued an apology/statement and is now growing a second FB page. But somehow I'm the problem for pointing out that a feel-good-praise-the-Thais Phuket story at this exact time is a little hard to believe?
See, I completely agree with you here. Phuket is a pretty awesome place (built largely on visitors' money). The difference is that I also believe THIS is the motivation behind the article. Damage control.
I'm not here to rain on your parade. If you're living the life then all the more power to you. But if you're going to claim people like myself are the problem, then I'll say you need to ask yourself one question -
If a gang of angry locals with slingshots come round your house today, are your amazing friendly Thai neighbors who've only ever treated you with "kindness and respect" going to stand up and defend you?
We all know the answer to that.
So you felt a story about Thai helping tourists needed balance? Is that it. Anger welled up in you because something nice was being said? A story about kindness has caused all of this regurgitation?
I think all the Thai bashers should leave this forum and never return. The result would probably be wecomed by Thai people who drop in here from time to time.
