We've had heavy rain this morning near what TE calls 'the pointy bit' here in Plai Laem.
Stopped now (9.15am) but looks like there's more to come.
At least it cooled down a lot now.
We often get rain around this time of year, the wife says it's Buddha playing Songkhran.

As it seems no AN members who maybe went to the British Embassy reception in Samui yesterday have any comments to make, I did a bit of digging and found that a similar reception had been held in Chiang Mai only a couple of months ago and which fortunately someone there recorded most of the event.
I imagine the speech the Consul gave there has to be similar to the one she gave yesterday so for anyone interested and having the spare time or interest to listen to 1 hr 23 mins of her speaking, here is the link:

Did anybody go?
Was any useful information imparted?
Do we actually still have an Honorary Consul living on Samui as I note this lady's title is HM British Consul a paid post with duties covering the whole of Thailand and not just Samui?

It has been available for many years. At one time they could be applied for at certain offices but now it can be done at any immigration office.
Yes
Just an update from OP.
I have just left Samui Immigration Office and was told that these non O visas CANNOT be applied for at this office.
I was told (unconvincingly, they didn't appear to know they existed) that I should apply at Suratthani IO for this visa.

If the OP is returning on a one way ticket without a non O in advance, would he maybe need a throwaway ticket for leaving Thailand within 30 days to keep airline and immigration happy.
Sorry if im wrong on this i dont want to give incorrect information, or maybe OP has a return ticket.
Thanks you for the input but yes, I do have a return ticket.

That's positive, easier than applying online back home then, thank you Joe.

I am currently on a Non O (extension) based on Marriage.
I am leaving Thailand for 4 months during which time my visa (extension) expires.
Immigration will not let me renew my extension early prior to leaving.
Can I re-enter Thailand on a visa exempt (30 days) and apply for a new Non O visa based on marriage once I return?
I have 400,000+ Thai baht seasoned in a Thai bank account which will not be touched throughout this period along with all the other necessary paperwork.
Or, do I have to apply for a new Non O 3 month single entry visa in my home country prior to returning?

At my annual check up at Bangkok Samui, doc said that May was good for second booster.
Samui Festival were offering Pfizer for walk ins 2 days per week (free) or Bangkok Samui for Moderna (fee).
I have been to Samui Festival a couple of times but have never seen the vaccine people.
Can anyone tell me what days they are there please?
I can't answer your question about Samui Festival, but I called at Samui Hospital Nathon on Wednesday (the clinic behind the main hospital) filled in the usual form and got the second booster vax ( Cominaty, Astra Zeneca or Sinovac all available - your choice) within 10 minutes of opening, only 12 other people waiting.
Vax opens at 10 am but get there 30 mins early and fill in the usual form.
I noticed the MorProm app was updated less than 48 hours later. Excellent service once again.

Good to hear, but chancy, eh!
Yes, completely forgot this time.
Thought it would have to be a personal visit to IO, but took a chance and got lucky.

Question: Anybody know if online is also accepted up to 7 days after 90 day date, or by EMS, or only in person?
Yes, I did mine 6 days late in February and it was accepted

Sorry, Don't understand what is wrong, when I click the pdf file comes up ok.
Even if I click on the 'file unavailable' in your post I get the pdf.

I assumed the op wanted a copy of the Thai consent form with English translation

But there is no loophole around not getting the extension from the province you live in. All the ones I contacted can only get them from upcountry, I don't see how that can be legal. Then you are stuck doing the 90 day reports and re entry permits with the agent and paying over the odds there. OK if you are hard up, but foolish and risky if you have the funds anyway.
So, if you are using an agent, you can't do your 90 day reports on line then?

I called in Central a couple of days ago to ask if I qualified for a second booster and was told that was due 6 months after the first booster i.e. June.
They said currently they were using Comirnaty.

A friend was told to take the yellow book to Nathon for updating after one month.
I went to Nathon Hospital yesterday and for 50 baht got an updated Thailand National Certificate showing the booster Vax.
I had to leave the Yellow book with them because a doctors signature was needed for that (I was told) and asked to come back on the 30th to collect it.
