Supot Electric on the ring road between Maenam and Fisherman's village do a lot of electrical repair work.
Apparently that is where my boys take things after they have stuffed up when trying to repair them. ????
Yes, that's where I am going to take my generator to repair - sometime, not so much need of it nowadays though.
A friend has repaired the trimmer for me, will cost me a couple or so beers I guess.

The only thing I can think of. For the 126%. Perhaps they were aiming to vaccinate say 1000 people, but managed to do 1260.
Yes, I take your point, thank you.

I think I'm missing something here, how can you get 126% and 128% of target?
Even 98% seems optimistic to me.

Thank you very much Hoxman, it is still not fixed so I will give him a try.

My hedge trimmer has packed in. It has an intermittent electrical fault.
If I take it apart and try to fix it, it will never work again. ☹️
Can anyone suggest a local repair man/shop in the Bangrak/Choengmon, Bophut area please?

Couldn't agree more, Excel.
I have just received this reply verbatim from the British Embassy in Bangkok following a query about Covid vaccinations I sent to them recently.
(It took almost two weeks for the reply to arrive).
It is important to note that/We expect British people to take responsibility for themselves and their safety while overseas, which includes taking out adequate health insurance for their individual needs.
The British Embassy is unable to ensure your safety and security whilst you are in Thailand because this is the responsibility of the government and authorities here.
I am sorry that you are not receiving the response that you require; however this is the current stance of the UK government.
A Disgraceful response
(Note the different type sizes, clearly all copied and pasted - not a personal response).

Those bars that are opening are only doing so by serving, or claiming to serve food. Sticking up a food menu doesn't really make a place a restaurant. The smaller bars that only serve alcohol are still not allowed to open.
Indeed.
I was told by two (Thai) bar owners last night that they had applied for (and were granted) restaurant licences valid from July 1st, hence their opening now.
It remains to be seen whether or not they will, or are able, to supply food.

Thanks guys

Agreed Silencer.
Pinpointing where the rain is coming in has so far proved impossible.
I think the only solution may well be to paint the whole side of the roof with a waterproof/rubberised paint

I'm searching for a local roofing company to come and fix/seal a small leak in my roof when we have heavy rain.
So far all attempts to find where it is coming in and seal it haven't worked.
Any recommendations for a local company Bangrak/Plai Laem area please?

I was sent the appointment time 4 days ago to my phone for between 12 and 2pm today at the Tourist Uni on the lakeside road.
Arrived at 10.30 in time to see the Health Minister from Bangkok and the Suratthani Governor and their entourage just leaving.
Filled in the form, had it checked 3 or 4 times and after a 5 minute wait we were ushered in to the building, had the jab, sat for 10 mins to make sure we were ok and...finished.
It was all extremely efficient with polite and pleasant staff on hand to make sure the whole thing went smoothly.
Given appointment time for next jab in 12 weeks.
In and out, job done less than 40 mins.
Well done to all the health and immigration staff involved.

ok. I am not a drinker though I have spent my time in bars... is 11 pm such a hardship? Can you not start earlier?
My post was intended to pass on some news. I was not complaining about the closing time.

Since Tuesday virtually all bars are now open and serving alcohol in Bangrak and Fisherman's.
They are however closing at 11 pm.

Depends on your nationality I think. If you're British, multiple entry visas are not available from London any more
