If you meet the requirements...
https://www.tourismthailand.org/Articles/plan-your-trip-vat-tax-refund
It needs to be updated.
Now :
Tourists who buy goods worth less than 20,000 baht would not have to show them to customs officials during the refund process. Until now,the upper limit was less than 5,000 baht. The minimum price of ornaments, ornamentalgold, watches, eyeglasses, pens, smart phones, laptop and tablet computers, bags (excludingtravel bags) and belts that must be presented tocustoms is raised from 10,000 baht to 40,000 baht.
Extra information :
I am at airport after almost 6 months in Thailand.
I made a short trip to Laos so I last entered in January. VAT Refund office told me I couldn't be considered as a tourist since I stayed more than 3 months (108 days) . They refunded me this time but told me they would not in the future

How did it go ? I am arriving with my partner flying int L P, and assumed the VoA would be a long queue and I should just get an evisa. As an Australian, that kinda sucks about the bridge 😞
No queue at all at Nong Khai checkpoint

I entered Laos on january 3rd. I got a Visa on arrival. Is was very quick. No queue at all.

Sacré bleu!
A Frenchman with a Frenchy sounding name.
Incroyable!
Only 35 people were born in France with that name since 1890 mainly in the island La Réunion

I wonder what is his first name.

Tbh, I'm not that familiar with wise. I was sent Euro to my Krungthai bank account and there converted to Thai Baht. i asked the sender and they said the fee must be on my side.
So, what can I do - or they do - to avoid that high fee? Are there better types of wise transactions?
I transfer THB, converted by Wise, to my Bangok Bank Account.
Bangkok Bank charges no fees in that case. I get on my Bangkok Bank account the exact amount in THB I sent.

Hi All After years of successfully registering my 90 day report (TM47) online .This time it keeps rejecting it 😞 ... Says "Incorrect entry date upon entry into the kingdom/ Incorrect visa expiration date." check and re check all the info and it still keeps rejecting it ...Has anyone else had the same problem recently ? Is it just a glitch in the system or is it just poor old me 😞 ? . Or will I have to bite the bullet and go to immigration in person .to sort it out ?
Cheers 🙂
Mine was rejected without any motive 555

Well you clearly know the system very well for my sake and the sake of others on here struggling with the problems of the Thai immigration service can you provide a definitive list of what you take to immigration when it’s time to renew your Non-O retirement visa?
many thanks 👍
My first time I went there and asked for information.

Just another shakedown.
I can't believe these schmucks are demanding I pay a fee to export a statue I've owned for 10 years and which originated in and was purchased in another country.
A fee to get the license but very cheap (100 bahts). Without license you will not be allowed to export it, in case they find it in your baggage.
Better to do as I did, maybe they'll give you the license, and if they don't give you the license you'll do your own way then !
Probably many people export without license, but if you're caught you'll have to leave it in Bangkok, which doesn't really matter if the statue has no value.
I may not insert the link from the Bangkok Post. Google for it with "Exporting Buddha"
QuoteThe last thing you want is to have your prized souvenir or gift confiscated on its way out of the country because you failed to adhere to the proper procedures.

Yes, they email you a reminder 14 days before due date, do it then, any probs you have will give you time to sort it, doing it early does not change the next report date...🤗
I never got any email

I just reported today at Chaengwatana.
The immigration told me that my online application was auto-rejected.
She could not tell me why and said I should report 15 days in advance next time
By the way, up to now and again yesterday, I went to Chaengwattana with BTS Green Line, got off at BTS Wat Phra Sri Mahathat then took a taxi to Government Complex.
On the way back, I noticed new BTS or MRT stations on the way back to BTS Wat Phra Sri Mahathat
Is the Pink Line going to Government Complex with interchange at BTS Wat Phra Sri Mahathat open now ?
Thanks

I opened a bank account with Bangkok Bank (head office in Silom) in 2018. I entered visa exempt at that time. I couldn't use internet banking nor mobile banking.
When I got a Non-O Visa, I got access to internet and mobile banking.
By the way I did not need to deposit THB 800 000 (income method)
Things may have changed since that time.

We wouldn’t put up with foreigners/ tourists or locals behaving like animals in our own country would we?
In Europe foreigners do whatever they want, even more if they are illegal migrants. We do not deport them but give them money, health care and housing 555

So maybe my notification was made too early ?
if the count starts from extension renewal on on january 17th and not on re-entry on january 10th ?I applied again online yesterday and it was rejected again. It's a mystery.
I have to go to Chaengwattana next week (appointment)

Absolutely not. I just got my 90 days report approved and I re-entered last October, have done already one 90 days report online after the entry. In fact I've never done 90 days report at the immigration, always did it online.

Is it the reason why my application was rejected then ?😉

their motives.,..

Check your application option to provide visa end date, this will be your new permitted to stay until date stamped in your passport.
Your report must show your name as is written in your passport ie middle name is required
I entered my new extension of stay date in february 2025
I don't have middle name... just one first name with "-" but "-" is not accepted... so 2 names in first name field

Standard reply, but you still need to go within
the reporting window.
Think you may have applied a tad too early
Thanks
Can I re-apply then ?
I thought due date was april 8th since I entered on january 10 th
I read I could apply 15 days before, therefore as from march 25th (-1 days) till april 14th (+8 days) and I applied on 27thWhen they reject it would be helpful if they gave a motive.

In Chiang Mai the first 90 day report has to be filed at immigration office. Subsequent can be completed online provided you haven't exited the country.
Same where you applied?
My first report was filed at immigration office but I left the country since that time
Re-entry permit at Suvarnabhumi
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

I got my re-entry permit at Chaengwatana when I got my year extension but I checked this morning at Airport.
When I asked where the re-entry was, employees told me I had to go through passport control first. I then found the entry desk which can be accessed before or after passport conttol.
Immigration officer told me that Chaengwatana could be better. According to her, it may be crowed and I may have to choose between my flight and a re-entry permit.
