What did the BBL branch in Pattaya advise you to do when you asked them? Whatever anyone tells you here the answer is down to the bank/branch.
Since I am not currently in LOS, they told me nothing.

1st of all I can never find the Banking forum on the list.
I have an old Passbook from a BB bank in CM which is now closed.
My Passbook no longer works in the machine but my account is still active.
I also have a new passport but I have the old canceled one with me.
Can I get a replacement in Pattaya?
I really don't want to fly up to CM to get a new one. And who knows how long I would have to be there b

The letter is generally provided with the NEW passport. Immigration require the letter to transfer any visa/extensions.
The bank needs to be updated or when you are asked for your passport as ID it wont be accepted. You will need to go along to your bank and update by taking OLD and NEW together.
MOVED to Banking forum
My passport was issued in Manila with no letter. I will be getting a new visa so immigration will not be an issue.

I have read that some have had a problem when they get a new passport number and have to match the passbook. Some say they even have to get a letter from an embassy in order for the bank to accept the new passport.
Has anyone run into this issue? My BB passbook does not have the passport number on it.
My passbook is outdated and needs to be replaced to work in the passbook update machines and that will be fixed later. I'm in Pattaya but my BB branch is in CM.
Advice please.
BTW: I use the internet laptop version and I can never find the Banking Forum. I have to use general chat and wait for my post to get moved to Banking

You should have received the letter from the US embassy for immigration when your passports were returned. It only took me about 15 minutes at immigration when I had my stamps transfered to the new passport a few months ago.
I never received a letter from the Embassy. Was I supposed to request one?

I receive an email from Asean Now every day. If I attempt to read any new article, a screen will pop up which will cover the entire screen telling me that I have won a phone. There is no way to exit the screen. It will have a Google logo on it but I am sure that it has nothing to do with Google. It comes from something called "happy day". It only appears on my Android phone and not my desktop. No other emails have this problem. and I have scanned my phone for any security issues.
Please fix this as soon as possible

What does Jomtien Immigration require for proof of 65K deposits? Do they have anything that they threat especially harshly?

Open face helmet I would guess, full face for me, regardless of weather or distance to travel, but that's my choice. On many occasions seen foreigners with chin straps that lose won't help in a accident.
Serious question, would a full face helmet actually have helped in this situation? I thought those were mostly to keep bugs and debris away?

Bangkok Bank recently moved from KSK. Anyone know where?
-
At what point would immigration check to see the presence of 800K in the bank? Would it only be at renewal (O)?

Why didn't you ask the manager at your bank? Duh. If you come here every post might give you a different answer.
Because I am not currently in LOS. My branch is in CM and it has moved. So, yes I could fly to CM and ask him or I could just ask the helpful people on this forum

From there, the OP can plan his move to a village in Issan in the future. ????
All ready got the offer but rice and cows is not exactly what I want.

I got a little lost there. just how many months would it be before I could spend the 800K assuming that I start the 65K deposits immediately upon arrival?
I get the 90 day then extend for a year, so is that going to be 15 months as I will have already made more than 12 months of 65K deposits?

Then you (imo) will receive 30 day visa exempt stamp.
You could consider a tourist visa entry 60 days
How long do you plan to stay in Thailand?
Eventually forever

Just went through this, you can come in visa exempt, get a 45 day stamp, you will have to have at least 15 days left on your stamp when you apply for an O visa, you have to have 800,000 in the bank on the day you apply, has to show that it came from an international transfer, if you don't already have a Thai bank account you will have problems setting one up coming in visa exempt, in that case you would be better off applying for a visa at a Thai Embassy, if you have a Thai bank account no problems then, just transfer 800,000 baht into it, for your first extension of stay if you wanted to use the 65,000 a month you would have to have a bank statement with 12 transfers of 65,000 or more
So it looks like I would have to put the 800K in first, immediately start adding 65K deposits in my existing Bangkok Bank account. At the end of 12 months, I could then withdraw the 800K and show immigration my deposit proof?

Personally can't see reason to extend the 45 day, temporary visa exempt entry.
Enter on or prior march 31 and you will be stamped in for 45 days.
Sweet deal.
Yes but I might not be able to make it before April.

Could anyone suggest a good, helpful, non-rip-off agency in Pattaya.

I am planning to move into Pattaya in a condo rental. What are the names of places (condo name or area) that would provide places that provide this?
Flood free
easy cheap local transportation (Grab, Bolt, walking)
Access to nightlife
Access to supermarkets and or Mall
No car
Condo price> 20K

With applying for a non-o, must the 800K be deposited immediately or can monthly 65K deposits work? What would the minimum amount of deposits be for application? Is there a way to transition from 800K to 65K deposits?
And what would be best entry visa be to start the process?
-
Is there any talk of extending the 45-day visa after March? What happens, if anything, if someone enters in March will they still get the 45 days.
