  1. When the Cholanda Coffee House closed down it was a sad day indeed. The lovely family that ran it, said they were off to BK for the husband's work and the wife may open another Coffee Shop in the city. Anyone know if this happened? If it did, where the new place may be ?

  2. Worth remembering that a lot of the desperate people seen around town are Loa or Burmese. A lot of the negative views of some of the results of this desperation are laid at the door of our Thai friends wrongly.

  3. Its all we can expect in a city of prostitutes/pimps and their offspring serving in a lot of cases all the scum/ criminals that descend on the place, for the decent amongst us im afraid we have to put up with all the sh!t that goes with it or move on,.:)

Quite right. The quicker the better................................

  4. Try getting off the beaten path if you want to see normal Thai people. Pattaya is the armpit of the universe, Thai people are there only to make money, anyway possible. I was very disillusioned with the place on my last visit.

And whatever you do, don't rent a jet-ski under any circumstances! These jet-ski operators are the scum of the earth and it is unbelievable that they are still allowed. Pass it along......

Absolutely agree, Pattaya is in Thailand but not at all representative.

First thing I advise newbie friends is to come here for a few days to empty their sacks, then bugger off with or without lady to see Thailand.

This is correct, in the same way Blackpool in England or Vegas in the US are not the same as the rest of the country. However, all three are tourist destinations which is one of the big reasons people from overseas come to a different country. It does sort of make me laugh when every tourist to Thailand is purported to be a culture vulture or an expert in Asian architecture or the Buddhist religion. They are not. Pattaya City is what it is, a fun place for tourists, and tourists are what the " Desperate Thai's " want, as tourists in the sense which they should be classified i.e. people out for a good time, spend money.

  5. OK guys take it easy we got beat,or do you wanna call this the (ball was in thread) NO NO NO it is what it is,we were outplayed by a long way, good luck Deutchland, you were better,so be it,

    Well said

In all honesty Germany were much better and good luck to them, but the scoreline was harsh as not much went England's way.

I mean that disallowed goal was surely the worst decision ever in world cup history.

I hope the management stays. I hope that it's seen as best that the defence to a man don't ever play again, and sadly, time to say goodbye to Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney too. Good club men. Had numerous opportunities now.

Sad part about this is I agree, but in the short term who's on line to step up ?

The manager needs to go as he will stick with the same players when a complete change of thinking is required.

  6. The " goal that wasn't" incident is bad in two separate ways.

In the context of the game, it did change the way England played and the outcome would obviously have been closer.

But at the end of the day I still think the Germans were the better team and the " incident " will give some in the FA ( and the team ) an excuse to hide behind and mask their total incompetence

  7. Right "Don't be fooled by the scoreline." absolutely - Germany should have been ahead by more.

England were a bunch of hapless, hopeless disorganised yobs.

It was a bad decision on the second England goal, but the end result was right.

Stats don't seem to support that. More possession, more shots, more shots on target, more corner.

Not sure if you actually watched the game mate. The Stats may say one thing, but the lads looked disorganised, knackered, and out-played when it counted. End of the road for many on display.

  8. This is as maybe, can't blame the Germans, they just played what was in front of them and played well.

All three of the " officials" were not capable of keeping up with the play ( much like our back four ), FIFA need a pull through with the business end of a pineapple.

  9. The Koreans gave the Ugars a run around for most of the game but were poor finishers. The Ghanians will not be as good on the ball, but will take the chances offered. A close game for sure

  10. Crouch with the Loon for me. Teams ( overseas ) take one look at Crouch's height and play at least two defenders on him at all set pieces. He's not the worlds worst, but his heading ability does not really match his height, however when he's in the box other nations defenders simply can't resist multi-marking, leaving the Loon space to get it in..............

  11. Wow, that was a new one...................

It never takes long for bashers old and new, to crawl from the woodwork.

Pattaya is what it is. There are some extremely good people in the town. No denying the dross, but the place is trying to change and a thread about Pattaya without mindless abuse, would be a welcome change.

Sigh....................... I know it will never happen.
