Well, I married a Pattaya bar girl 20 years ago. Still very happily married now with two great kids. For those past 20 years we have lived in Bangkok (where I also work). My traits? The truth: 20 years ago I was in the same situation. I had to pay the bar in Pattaya 20k for my girl to get out of the bar. I did pay the money. But we've now been together for 20 years, 18 of those married (all living in Thailand). I guess paying might actually be worth it?

Depends what bank you send it to. In my experience, SCB is by far the easiest and quickest. Bangkok Bank used to be good but now experiences delays. Kasikorn, in my experience, useless. Endless delays with K-Bank when using Wise transfers.

Do I need to pay for the flight tickets (for me and wife and kids) before I apply for the UK visa for my wife? Or better to wait until after visa process? Any ideas? Thank you

Customer service in AirAsia is non-existent. They are the worst. Their whole system is designed to ensure that customers lose money on any changes of schedule or cancellations. I have stopped flying with this company because of this. I work in India quite frequently and now only use Indigo. Who are excellent by comparison.

Yeah the DWP is great. Very flexible and easy. But the Thai authorities, I'm afraid, are not really up to date. They are wholly confused with anything digital and ask to see a book all the time, despite the DWP being issued by the Dept of Labour. You just have to do print outs from your phone and hand them the paper.
