Hello. Sorry if wrong forum.
I am trying to sell some secondhand watches.
I have a decent collection but don't have a clue where to sell them? Is there a shop/place that buys watches in Bangkok?
Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Typical greed. What do you expect?

I can relate to this. But now I try to not drink any beer during the week. A few bers with meals over the weekend.
Don't want to completely stop but it also feels good not to drink during the week - and sleep quality also benefits!

If only people knew the bigger picture (and I do). Thailand's defence budget is one of the lowest - in terms of government allocation and in terms of proportion of GDP - in the Asia-Pacific. Thailand's defence budget is also waaay behind the global average of 2.2% of GDP.

This is the OP. Thanks for all responses. Much appreciated. Mind at rest about this issue, at least!

Well at least two people have told you no you don't need a degree. Are you sure you are clever enough for the job????

I have extensive work experience in the job I will be asked to do. And I have some qualifications in the job area I will be asked to do.
Just no degree.
Seems to be contrasting opinions about this. But noting ubonjoe's responses. Thank you.

So technically is a degree required in order to obtain a work permit?
Still not clear about that. Any info would be great.
Oh, and this job offer is not teaching.
Thanks.

Of course not. If the company believes you can do the job they will give it to you and apply for the work permit on your behalf once you get here.
Thank you. I am living here in Bangkok already. Would that create a problem.
Sorry, just trying to make sure I can foresee any potential pitfalls.

Hello. I am from the UK. Aged 51. I am married with kids, and have been living here on marriage-based visa extensions for about 10 years.
There is a possibility I will be offered a job by a US company that has an subsidiary/office here in Bangkok. It will be a staff position and I will require a work permit.
Thing is, I don't have a degree. Will that be a problem in obtaining the work permit?
Thank you for any knowledgable posts.

where would thailand use these
The Stryker vehicles will be operated by army's 11th Light Infantry Division in Chachoengsao. And given that many of Thailand's military vehicles are several decades old (Vietnam-era) you could argue that actually Thailand does need to procure new vehicles.

Just wait. 20 Thais with baseball bats and one foreigner. That's Thai style!

LOL. Love the complete ignorance of Thai officials. They don't have a clue.

I've been here since the late 1980s.
In my veiw, Thai people have changed.
Without doubt, Thais (speaking generally) are no longer as welcoming as they once were. Thais, in general, have become much more selfish and far less considerate. It is general, I know, but I speak from my experiences.
Yes, the baht doesn't help, the government crackdowns don't help, visa situations etc down't help. But the bottom line is Thais have changed. And it isn't for the better.

This is the OP... Think the Honda City is leading the race for me. Just ahead of the Jazz. I like the idea of a boot instead of a hatchback and it seems slightly bigger inside. Tomorrow checking out the Vios.
And thanks everyone for the comments. So helpful! I’d buy you all a beer...

This is OP. Went to look at the Jazz and City at Honda today. Both look good but a little uninspiring. But as I've tried to explain to the wife: This is about money! It's a necessary move, 20K repayments on the SUV are just too much.
Of course, she's not best pleased. (I think she likes the 'face' of having a big car)
Anyway, two others I plan to look at before a decision: Yaris and Mazda 2.

So with the horrid state of the UK pound the repayments on our SUV have gotten just too much. We need to downsize quite drastically.
Wife doesn't want a pick-up - so I think that will leave what she calls 'the small cars'. Question is, which to choose? There seems so many - Suziki Swift, Mazda 2, Honda City, Honda Jazz, Toyota Yaris etc
But does anyone have any experience with these cars? What's the best for taking kids to school, shopping, and occasional trips at weekend?
Thank you for any advice!
Cheers. J

Aside from issues mentioned in the post above, is that Pattaya was popular with Europeans, Australians and Americans because it was the city of sin. Attempts to make it a clean family resort are doomed to failure given only a fool would swim in its filthy waters, and the strategy makes other places far more appealing.
Indeed, Pattays has only ever been good at one thing. And let's be honest it was the best at that thing. That thing should have been promoted instead of brushed under the carpet.

TM30 'Check In'
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
Sorry for another TM30 question. I am from UK on 'extension based on marriage' visas.
I live with my wife and family in our house (owned by wife) in BKK.
My wife just got password etc today (only waited nearly 3 months!)
Anyway, we can now use the app.
Should I put all my details (ie, passport number etc) into the app straight away, ie, today?
If so, what is my check-in and check-out dates?
Thanks for any knowledgeable responses!
Cheers.
