Of course it is not right.
Thais know it's not 'right' in terms of ethics.
But they also see regard it as their 'right' in terms opportunity.

Been living/working in Thailand for about 20 years.
I have no Thai friends. None.
Sorry, but I could never ever trust a Thai as a friend.

As a family we have done well and visits to the UK, the boy in a private school and a farm aswell which makes money but not massive amounts. The house was built in view of my son having a steady home and of course it would be his in the future. its been a case of good living which I have no regrets and love my son more than anything. enough of that now down to the problem, GAMBLING! she just wont stop playing cards for money everyday and obviously she is losing and tell lies to me all the time. I have threatened her with losing me and the money source but it has not worked. I have to leave her and cut the money but I am worried what will happen to my son. She says she will not let me see him again and she will go back to working in the bar scene which means the family will have to take care of the son which obviously I do not want as my job is working away for periods of time. I have tried everything to help but she just keeps on gambling to the extend when I send money for something like the school fees she gambles it and pays it off monthly so I am paying it twice. I need some advice as MY heart is heavy and I cant take no more. its the boy that worries me so much. thanks TV and go easy on the abuse this is a serious question. we are not married.
Goodness this touches a nerve...
Listen to me. Four years ago I had exactly the same problem as you. It very nearly split my family up. My family consists of me, my Thai wife and two children. I also have a good job, well paid, in Bangkok.
But my situation was exactly the same as yours. I have great sympathy. My wife (a former bar girl too) would not stop playing cards. Every day. Lies every day. I lost a lot of money, about THB1 million in total. I had had enough and was on the brink of a painful divorce. And would you believe it that at that time we had also been together 11 years. So many similarities.
But here is what we did. We moved. We moved away from that village where she gambled all the time. We moved into a totally new area in Bangkok. A new house, new schools, new friends, new everything. My wife had to change her life. And that stopped her gambling. Gambling was fuelled by her so-called 'friends' in the former village. They were nothing but animals.
So far, so good. She has stopped. I am wary of course, but am now able to trust her again.
My advice to you. MOVE. Move away from her 'friends' who she gambles with.

If this was a big bike being ridden by a Thai, would it be news ? Just asking.
Probably would. News these days is full of 'news' about drivers and cars and crime. Anything apart from the 'state of the nation' news and developments.

Why was it expensive to maintain? Surely it was on warranty for the time you had it, so other that putting fuel in it what other expenses were there?
Service is not wholly 'free' at Honda. They tell you it is but you still have to pay for the majority, and for the CR-V it is expensive.

Speaking from experience. I owned a CR-V from 2018. Sold it last year. Cut my losses.
The car is OKish (it is not great at all) but is extremely expensive to run and maintain. Wouldn't mind if it was expensive and a great car, fun to drive etc. But it's not.
So we bought a Toyota Fortuna instead. Far far better car - more fun, and more economical to run and maintain.
Speaking from my experience, I would steer clear of the Honda CR-V.

Did get a work permit and a extension of stay on March 31st?
Yes, my extension of stay is now end of March 2021.
OK, so if 90-day report not required due to amnesty, when will I have to make the 90-day report?
Thank you so much.

Hello. I have another 90-day report query. I am from UK with Digital Work Permit (DWP) with a Non-Imm O visa based on work.
On obtaining my work permit on 31 March 2020 (from Thai Immigration at the one-stop service centre), they changed my previous Non-Imm O visa (based on marriage) to a new Non-Imm O (based on work). The HR person from my BOI company told me I needed to do 90-day report at the end of 90 days counting from 31 March (so end of June).
However, I have now realised that the info from my BOI company was wrong!
I actually arrived into Thailand on 20 February with my previous Non-Imm O visa. And I should have done my 90-day report based on my entrance into the country on 20 February.
How best to resolve? I cannot do 90-day report on the online service - it won't process my info because I flew into Thailand on 20 February.
Do I need to worry at all (due to the amnesty) - or should I go to immigration at CW and prepare to pay a fine?
Any informative answers would be very gratefully recieved.
Thank you.

Completely normal. I have a Bangkok Bank credit card. Limit 100k. This is linked directly with a savings account of that amount. That account cannot go below 100k.
It's not really 'credit' but, hey, it works fine.
And the banks get to cover their asses, and I have that knowledge that I can't overspend.

We bought a Honda City one year ago. Very pleased with this. Very cheap to run, suprisingly spacious inside (especially the boot), nippy when you want it, and easy to maintain and clean. Only thing is that it's a little boring at times. But hey, it's only a car!

Many thanks, blackcab. Good link. Will use that. Don't have the time nor the skill for a homemade card. Much appreciated.

A relative has passed away in the UK.
I want to send a sympathy card.
Any idea where I can buy such a card in Bangkok?
Thanks for any suggestions.

I have recently obtained my digital work permit in a BOI company with a diploma.
I was told I needed some form of education certificate.
I have no degree, just that diploma (without a transcript).

Thailand has a massive massive problem with institutional discrimination at all levels. Look in the mirror first.
