Ha Ha. And you live in Phuket! Wherever you go I suggest you be more circumspect with your casual ageist bigotry. And less credulous. BTW In what country or area of work is an online degree considered valid?

So he makes noise inside his house..... Mmmm mm So what Thais do far worse and with the thump thump thump of their music playing till the wee hours every time they have a party. He has a Glock christ then he is not stupid I would have loved to have one when I lived in Thailand (had a very big dog instead) and OMG he swears so do lots of people me included but was he using those pesky sounds as verbs, adjectives or nouns? Why do so many people on here spit venom at anyone who they perceive effects them? Don't worry and chill as they hate you already and it has nothing to do with this guy or any other poor soul who overstay"s etc.

thai logic ; "people with money are good people"
Yes quality tourist = wealthy tourist is a nonesense.
But in fact a quality tourist is one who is likely to be a repeat tourist, ie a back packer who will return when they are older, sex tourists are quality as they spend money widely and return frequently. Economy travellers are good too because their money goes direct to Thais, Thai families and Thai businesses. The rich five star travellers rarely return, dont engage with the locals except as wage slaves and skivvies, and their money goes to international conglomerates such as Hilton. Other high quality tourists are cultural, epicure and eco tourists.

Just let him visit Vietnam instead, I will recommend it to everyone as a tourist.
Not as an expat (yet) but as tourist, certainly. Cheaper, unique, vibrant and engaging Vietnamese that are not looking for money benefits.
A lot of us have been to many SE Asian countries Vietnam is OK..of course they seek to profit from tourists.

It's just the time of the year, so many farang tourists around driving motorbikes without a helmet or proper licence that they see it as being like shooting fish in a barrel. Why go to all the bother of arguing with a Thai when you can just give a tourist a ticket, even if the farang's legit. People living here would tend to argue with the cop, but tourists only want to have a good time, understandably, so are much more likely to just pay up.
The police are criticised when they dont enforce the law and criticized when they do enforce the law. Im tired of farang complaining all the time. Some farang just seem out of their depth with NO idea of the social mores and values in this country and they should never come here. Go to the Maldives or Singapore...anywhere but here!

This absurd incorrect generalization by Obama has no foundation in truth and is just self hating nonsense as is the idea that white people are superior to black people. He should be ashamed of himself, especially as this is an attack on young men and boys who already contend with far more difficulties in life than women.

Yes I always keep bananas , mango, guava, apple etc in the fridge, the only fruit I keep out is oranges .
Keep fruit out of the fridge, especially bananas but use a gauze trap cover. Vinegar will not deter fruit flies. Fruit flies produce vinegar from fermenting alcohol.

The Thai prison population is overly represented by women and the poorest social groups. Drugs offences figure unesseccarily highly. The barbaric medieval prison conditions are tantamount to torture. This combined with police corruption, military corruption at the highest level, ie coup makers put Thailand in a category of a Pariah state and a very dangerous place to visit.

I’ve been here more than three decades. Bangkok is home but that doesn’t mean I have to like it!
I have good days & bad days. Good days I notice the tropical flowers, bad days I notice pungent tropical garbage. BK is far different than village life. While I like having everything easily available, I rarely take advantage of most of it. Shopping malls are soulless places.
The pollution is really getting to me. And govt inaction, but that’s everywhere. Things will only get worse as all those new condo towers get filled with car owners. But it’s much the same in first-world LA (NOT Roi Et!)
As well-read academic and omnivorous autodidact, I’m weary of not being able to voice my opinions. In other places, people have a choice to not listen. Here, speaking out could rub somebody powerful the wrong way and there would be personal consequences to one’s safety & freedom.
The impossibility of health insurance past age 70 is also of great concern. We don’t have a big enough bank balance to cover enormous hospital bills.
Pessimistically, I think things here will get worse—way worse. Perhaps they will soften eventually but I’m too old to wait.
We’ve told our Thai daughter to make a life for herself somewhere else. For us, though, there’s nowhere else to go.
You can voice your opinions freely among expatriates and most Thais with the exception of the LM laws. I live in Iran, Libya, Burma and much more strict countries where people livex in fear.

I have to laugh a bit because that was one of the only preconditions I had on where we live; nowhere near her family. Obviously, that needed to be put more delicately but I explained while I loved her family and enjoyed visiting, that Thais love drama (something she always says too) and that living near her family would be bringing the drama close enough that her family would feel like they should get her involved in the middle of it.
They are lovely people but three generations of her family and extended family live in a 2 square mile radius and you're going to get a boatload of drama.
Too true mate The extended family network, is a hot house of neurosis.

Charter flights, walking 6- abreast down the streets. They can't fill the bars now, another 39 bars- gogos. Pattaya is turning into a circus.
Indians have historically been big landowners and entrepreneurs in Thailand. They own much of sukhumvit and the Nana hotel and Nana plaza.. both places that did not used to allow Indians in!

Well I can get by in French and Portuguese for survival purposes but many people speak English and these days there are many good translation apps. Why Ghana?
