Thailand could find the needed cash for handouts quite easily. Stop the useless spending on the military toys would be a good starting point.

Out of interest which airline.
If it was Jetstar you were lucky
No and I hope to never fly with that mob. Scoot and at least there weren't any cancellations 555

Yes you were lucky, but in case the airline would not let you board due to that one-way ticket without a Visa, you could have bought an online onward-flight ticket on the spot for as little as 12 to 15 US $.
Yes I had that option sorted but not needed.
Now have a Non O visa, extension due late June.

Flew into BKK from Perth via Singapore in Feb on a one way ticket, no visa and not asked the question anywhere.
Luck of the draw I guess.

So no mention of the Contractor employing these scoundrels.
Might be well connected?

Sorry, this is Thailand, the police serve the police.
The police serve no purpose is closer to the truth. WAFTAM comes to mind.
Look it up.

Leave the weed alone you Experts. I wish the world would grow more of the stuff and use it instead of chemicals for fiber, food, fuel and the multitude of other things it's good for and that includes recreation.
That's my view if anyone is interested.

I believe that because you broke the chain of extensions and now have a gap of 5 months since your last extension expired last November, you are being treated as a completely new applicant.
Therefore as far as Thai immigration is concerned your past history no longer counts.
I am in the same boat.
Had to start a new non O after a short break. Two witnesses required just for the visa, not looking forward to the extension process. Korat office.

3 hours ago, sandyf said:That is not the point, given the holiday situation you didn't allow reasonable time for the application to be dealt with. A earlier application would have allowed more processing time. The reality is you only allowed about 6 days.
As far as the refusal is concerned that is something else. The Embassy would take it that you were in the UK at time of application unless you gave them reason to think otherwise. The text of the questions is not always as clear as it should be and it is fairly obvious from comments on this forum that people often misinterpret what is being asked. They need to be read several times before making an answer.
Pushing a fairly dry argument there sandyf.

"half sunk" seems about right for a Thai operation, half way good enough is good enough.

I think what he is trying to say, this happens every year but it usually never lasts too long. So it is 'naturally happening every year'.
It's hard to know what they are saying when their head is up their but with a foot stuck in their mouth.
Tar the lot of them with the same brush. Drop Kicks.

No. People can now grow their own weed.
Get with the program.

Sorry to hear that OP Mac. The irony is that the wife came home from the market with a shiny new rat trap this very morning. Around here it's the humans that bite the rats. Honest!

I understand where you are coming from OP and I also understand I have zero chance of making a difference, sad but true.
I live in Thailand and yep it's a dump, for the time being this is home.

Isaan Woman
in Isaan
EWhere to start?
My wife gets a funny on every now and then so I just refuse to speak to her until she talks first.
It usually ain't my problem so I ignore it.
Works for me.
As for the loud voice, she understands the term "fish wife" now so tones it down a little.
Most of the above seems about right. Women, shesh.

Yer I was lucky as medicals are mandatory for most jobs these days. Worked for 10 months, 12 hrs by 14 days and hope I never do it again.
I think I could do it one more time if the site was Ok.
Good remuneration for sure.

Same caper for the young fella doing his Budda rite the other week. Oh and he drew the black ball on Monday.

180/112 last year but been like that for a decade. I returned to Australia for work and found a good GP who told me even a driving license was out of the question.
Telmisartan+Amlodipine put me in the right direction so now around 125/83 so all good. Rate@40-5 mg per day.
Stay of the grog was her advice, mostly..
I got a job as a hard rock underground truck driver at age 63 so yes most things are possible lf you try.

You have to love this place, lol.
Imagine if a real administration was to be installed, pure kaos, no more visa extension for those willing to pay a proportion of the asking conditions. A total rethink for the disilusional self-entitled elite. Be careful what you wish for.
I can live with the "wild west" attitude. I don't care really as do most Thais I have met.
If you where good enough you wouldn't live here.

This week in my area (rural Korat) has not been to bad. Most of the burning has finished apart from the charcoal kilns that seem to operate 24/7.
The old fella two doors up has hopefully run out of fuel for a while, my family has been coughing for months as has most of the village.
Sure he makes a living but is killing people slowly to do so.

Good luck mate. I could think of few less desirable enterprises to be living near.
