  2. Final grade will be calculated using published criteria then actual grade reduced by: - one full grade - 1.5 grades - two grades.

  4. Also, the few times, over many many years I or my Thai family have attempted to use a roht daeng the fare offered by the driver was much more than (as a comparison) the fares I've paid to 2 taxi operators based at the CM airport. On one occasion the driver told my Thai adult son (about 35 years old at the time) he only transports red shirt supporters. Son walked away. On one occasion Son's wife asked if the driver would take her from Big C Don Extra to Promenada with 2 kids. Driver Response: there no such place as Promenada and he drove away.
  5. But step by step the whole shin clan reappearing - there's a master plan without doubt. But what's the real objective? Suspect it's power and access to big business and money. Is he still the lapog for thaksins loud big sister?
  6. Where do straight people retire? Covered in hundreds / thousands of posts, global. So why no 'Where do gay people retire / where do blonde haired men retire'. etc., etc.
  7. When there's an election I'm hoping that Khun Pita's Move Forward party again wins a very number of seats. Let'' wait and see and more interesting what will the powers that be do this time to push Move Forward away? Seems to me that the powers that be can't continue to do this forever. Also in the picture is the end result of forming a new senate membership.
  8. I just tested that: - Using my BBL internet banking I transferred funds from my K Bank savings account to my BBL savings account, it appeared instantly in my K Bank savings account showing on my K Bank internet banking, as normal. - A minute later using my K Bank internet banking I transferred the funds back, from BBL to my K Bank savings account, it worked instantly as normal. Suggest you call the BBL call centre and discuss, rather than visit a local branch. I've spoken to the BBL call centre several times before, always advanced English, always good listeners, always understood the point I was making, always resolved.
  9. Here's an example of school lessons and parent back up. In Pratom 3 (I think 3) - better bi lingual school in Chiang Mai, my Thai granddaughter mentioned to her father (father always asking questions about 'what are you doing at school' and always an active listener). On one occasion she said, to her father, were starting to study electricity. A few days later my son said to his daughter 'daddy doesn't understand anything about electricity can you explain it to me? Her response 'sure', she got out her (produced in the UK with English and Thai script science book and opened it at electricity. Daddy deliberately showed he was listening and several times said 'does that mean....), daughter did more explanation and ensured daddy understood. We had one funny incidence, my son said 'does that mean ,,,). His daughter laughed and giggling said 'daddy you're silly' and she instantly went into further explanation. Son and his wife (both very well educated) do things like above all the time.
  10. Keep in mind both were charged with specific serious crimes and plenty of clear incriminating evidence was made public. They weren't 'charged' with 'invented' things.
  11. Sure, plus nowadays I don't believe anything governments, ministers, past ministers say, or write Thailand or any country.
  12. If anybody here has some problems with this can I suggest call the SSO Hotline tel. number 1506, 24/7. on 1506 there's a language option Thai or English. If you press X for English and nobody answers it reverts to Thai, this is usually because no English speakers are available at that time. Call back later or the next day. Have some patience with this. When you do get an English speaker their English is usually very advanced and they are good listeners and you will get good advice. Good luck.
  13. Thirty years ago when I started a full-time job my employer automatically enrolled me in the Thai Social Security Fund (SSF / SSO). In those days the member number assigned (Thai and foreigners) was from a different SSO only numbering system. Then the SSO decided to scrap that numbering system and use the standard Thai ID card number as the SSO member number. Some foreigner members already had a Thai ID number, being used in the Tabien Baa book the foreigner was registered in (som had yellow covered Tabien Baan books, foreigners holding Thai PR were registered (from the date they were issued with their Thai Certificate of Residency book (PR book) in the standard dark blue covered Tabien Baan book) and their SSO member number was changed to their Thai ID number (starting with an 8). However changing the SSO member number to the Thai ID number for foreigners was apparently not well done and some foreigners (who had PR / dark blue TB book and pink card) continued to hold / use the original SSO member number from the old SSO member numbering system. This happened to me, and years later some complications arose and it was realised that my monthly member contributions were still going to the SSO using my old system SSO member number. The records were then adjusted to show my SSO member number as the number in my standard dark blue Tabien Baan book and on my pink card.
  14. I also have it in a joint savings account with my Thai adult son. I use this account in my internet banking facility therefore I can access the account via internet.
  15. Banks are changing the passport numbers in their records to the Thai pink ID card number if they become aware that you have a pink ID card. Why? Because the banks all realize that a large % of the bank's account details have a passport number in the bank records for each farang but in many cases the passport has expired and the passport has probably been replaced but the passport number in the bank records has never been changed. So when they become aware of a pink card they change the personal details in the bank database; delete the old / any passport number, and enter the pink ID card number which for most farang doesn't need reissue.
  16. In reality they would be readily available documents, and for my son or daughter I would be happy to prepare as many documents as needed. I've witnesses 2 farang hand over new EU passports to their kids. Kids knew that there was maybe a possibility to get an EU passport same as dad but had been told by their dad 'we have to wait and see and it may take quite a long time'. The look of delight on the 2 kids faces when they opened the envelopes was beyond wonderful. In both cases the farang fathers told their kids 13 and 14 to read the details very carefully and confirm that the details (spelling etc.) was totally correct. Both times the kids read the details 50 times then confirmed 'all correct'. In both cases they were instructed to immediately scan all the pages and create a file and send the file, by e.mail, to themselves and to dad and to mum and to grandparents in Europe. Completed within a few minutes. In one case the mother (the Thai wife) already had a passport from farang husband's EU country), in the other case the son (14) quickly but secretly asked his father 'but what about mum?' It was in fact in process but would take a longer time to fully qualify etc., etc.
  17. 44 years old 22 years living in Thailand so assume he came to LOS when he was 22 years old how has he supported himself for 22 years what visa has been on for 22 years - is that possible? when / where was he a mercenary if he's lived in Thailand since he was 22 years old? Some explanation would be nice.
  18. Really? Many times I've delivered my grandchildren to school (kinder, primary). Many times I've briefly or for a few minutes interacted with one / a few foreign 'English teachers'. A few times I've been impressed* but more often horrified at their spoken English and their behaviors / attitudes. *being impressed has always linked to the name /reputation of the school involved, their tuition fees and their published details of the teachers on staff. A few times I've asked 'what qualifications do you need to work here as an English teachers? Sometimes the answers have been good but more often not good. e.g. - 'It doesn't matter, I flashed my photoshopped Bachelor of Science degree, and I got the job immediately'. - 'I was not expecting to get the job because English is really my 3rd language and not that good regarding grammar but a 3 minute chat and I was employed'. - 'certificate of attendance at a 14 day English teaching course in Bkk seems to be well accepted, but during the course dates I did a 3 / 4 day border run to renew my visa, all accepted by the 14 day course folks'. - and more ...
  19. If there's already one person sitting at the table, many times I've politely asked, in Thai, if I can share the table. Never once been rejected. Ultimately I don't see this as an issue, grow up folks, get a simple hobby.
  20. I disagree, there's plenty of excellent government hospitals all over Thailand with well qualified excellent doctors and nursing staff and plenty of English. Shop around.
  21. I guess the world will end. Buy lots of tissues.
  22. True. This was a few years ago and tings are slowly changing: 1. My eldest Thai granddaughter went to a bilingual catholic school, they had English first and last period every day: Morning, well qualified young British guy who focused quite successfully on progressive conversation development with kids encouraged to ask questions. During this session the afternoon English teacher (old Thai lady) sat at the back and took notes and was under instruction to repeat the morning session late afternoon but in Thai language. Afternoon, but she spent most of the period criticising the farang teacher and highlighting his mistakes (which weren't mistakes). And you guessed it kids not allowed to speak and not allowed t questions. ******* And mid term / end of term exams. Kids had to remember what each teacher had taught to answer the questions, often conflicting. Continuous complaints from the parents. A number of fathers were farng native English speakers, they sent handouts (given by the old Thai female teacher) back to the headmistress (who can't speak English) highlighting numerous mistakes. Regular response from the headmistress 'Well she's been teaching for a long time so she must be correct'.
