1. I have never in 27 years confirmed my address or any other detail to an immigration office, except when my C of R book has been full (full of outward / inward passport stamps) and therefore needed to be replaced. I've replaced my C of R book 3 times, every time at immigration (CW) they asked 'has any personal detail changed?' No further process. This was raised before and it was confirmed there is no annual reporting requirement. The RED book is a police registration book (not an immigration process), purpose being for PR holders to give the local police notification of their residential address, it's not an immigration book / matter. The RED police registration book must be updated every 5 years (updated means: new photo and update (if needed) of residential address). This book is not 'replaced' every 10 years.

".... never felt the need for one". I have loud old American living near me. He loves to cause arguments. He heard about the yellow Tabien Baan book and the pink ID card. He took his Thai wife (speaks perfect English) to the local quite big Immigration office to possibly get both items. As per usual he yelled abuse at the immigration officer (IO) asking why the IO could not speak English and threw his US passport at another IO. Wife walked out of the immigration office and caught a taxi home. And she now refuses to accompany him anywhere re official documents or buying anything. He continues to NOT have a yellow book and NOT have a pink ID card. And of course both of these items are not issued by Thai Immigration but I'm told that the American insisted they go to the immigration office..

Some points not quite true: 1 - It's commonly called Permanent Residence (PR) (including by immigration officers) however the correct official wording is 'Certificate of Residence'. And yes the term can be confused, there's also a letter issued by the Thai Immigration Bureau with the same title 'Certificate of Residence' used to get a Thai driving license. The letter states the address of the foreigner, nothing more. This is not the same as the small book issued to PR holders called 'Certificate of Residence', which is proof of lifetime Certificate of Residence / lifetime PR. The small PR / Certificate of Residence book does NOT have an expiry date. Yes you do need an exit / re-entry stamp if you do leave thailand and you have lifetime PR. Not the end of the world, and not difficult to get the stamp, and while on this point, the exit / re-entry stamp is a simple administrative exercise, there is no interview or re-consideration of the actual PR status. 2 - PR holders are NOT required to report* to the Thai immigration Bureau every year: * Not personally * Not in writing * Not by any official immigration form (no such form exists). 3 - PR is issued for lifetime, there is no 10 year renewal. There is no renewal ever. 4 - PR automatically cancels on the death of the holder. Re items 2 and 3 above - I've had Thai lifetime PR for 27 years, I have never done an annual report nor actioned a renewal of my PR status because both are NOT required - in fact there is no such process.

Just to clarify, foreigners with lifetime permanent residence are recorded in the standard dark blue covered Tabien Baan book for the place where they reside (not in a yellow covered book).
-
One other point, my ID number starts with 8, I was told this number indicates a foreigner with lifetime permanent residence.

Phuket Hospital Appeals for Respectful Conduct from Russian Patients

I've seen kiosks in other countries where a person can key in their question in their own language and request an answer in a specific language and in one case (in China) the question and the answer also appeared on screen in Chinese characters. And there was a button to get a print out of all the languages involved in that query. In reality just basic translation work and no brainer printing. Many / most translation providers (e.g. Google) nowadays include translations for all / 99% of the languages across the whole world. -
The ID number is constructed same as for Thai people x xxxx xxxxx xx x

Agree child trafficking is vile. Let's not forget the enormity / frequency of family incest in all countries, just as vile. I have 2 university colleagues / researchers (Thailand and Australia) who have pent many years researching this activity. Amongst many comments both have mentioned 'the public has no idea of the enormity / regularity of incest inside families, in sociology terms often classified as: - Mothers and daughters, mothers and sons (in both cases daughters and sons well underage and well above legal age) - Fathers and daughters, fathers and sons (in both cases daughters and sons well underage and well above legal age). - Uncles .... - Brothers and sisters in all the under / above age profiles. Brothers all age profiles. - Brothers and sister required to perform all the various types of sexual activity whilst parents watched. Brothers required to perform same as above. and more... -
Further, just wondering how many poor Americans ended up in hospital with Covid- 19, accumulated hospital bills in the thousands / tens of thousands of $s, then died. Now their families still trying to clear these huge debts? All because the ignorant idiot trump and his GOPS goons refused to cover costs of medications, buy extra ventilators etc., and the clown made comments about 'drink bleach, that will cure it'. And at the same time to her face on TV the clown abused / intimidated highly qualified and respected expert doctors. Then we have jokers here in his thread trying to say trump gets blamed for everything and it's not fair. Wow.

"“Despite our best efforts, the number of accidents, injuries, and deaths remains high. We urge everyone to observe traffic rules, avoid drink driving, and ensure their vehicles are in good condition before hitting the road." 'Best efforts", as per the last 50 years. Is nobody in authority embarrassed by statements like this? Not really because if they did there would have been changes to road traffic monitoring etc. The "best efforts" clearly don't work, it's obvious and it's very very sad. Will it be the same next year? YES, because it's obvious there won't be any changes to how this is 'managed', mainly because nobody in authority has the capability (nor desire) to construct any different approach. I'm just so happy my family (Thai son, his Thai wife and their 4 kids) stay home and we do water splashing only within our own large garden, outside on the road banned.

I'll go first: TS. Not currently an mp but why see that as a roadblock, there's a million ways to twist that into a positive, I'm sure. Gen P could help no doubt. -
I recall a previous 'event' when the whole electoral commission went on a European study trip, they departed Thailand the first day of the voting of an election. Before they left much complaint, the complaint I recall was: - Wives / spouses unhappy because only one day for shopping on the official agenda, for each of the cities included in the trip.

Wrong visa stamp on arrival

Ultimate point: by law and serious, Thailand authorities must keep records of the location of everybody in Thailand: - Thai citizens, this is done through a Tabien Baan book kept at the actual residence but when update is needed that's done at a local gov't admin. office. (Tabien Baan book - in English household registration book), which lists the full details of the people who live at the address on the Tabien Baan book. - Permanent Residents - also recorded in the Tabien Baan book for the address where they reside. Updated as per above. - Various visas: long-term often recorded on a different coloured Tabien Baan book but still meaning for the address where they reside. Short-term: This usually means being registered on the hotel / guest house etc., records which are shared continuously with the Thai Immigration Bureau.
