  1. I want to install a pull-up bar in a brick wall. I did use plastic anchor for smaller screw in the past. I'm not sure if they exist for the size I need, if there is some kind of silicone that can be used or if it can work by simply drilling the correct sized size hole.

You are wrong, it is not "inactive," but as in my link, it may slow down the infection rate, in some viruses, but with Covid-19 they do not yet know, Australia, Iran and African nations are very warm, and yet the virus is spreading.

I personally don't believe it will play a major role in slowing down the disease. I'm just explaining that being outside of a virus optimal habitat is not optimal for propagation.

I'm sorry if I offended you by making a typo "inactivate". English is obviously not my first language. Since a virus is not alive I don't use the term "dying".

Edit: I did not make a typo. Not sure what is your problem. You probably think that a virus is alive.

I am not understanding the argument that the virus cant live in temps over 27 Celsius, Heat kills it etc

IT THRIVES IN A HUMAN BODY THAT IS 37 DEGREES.

Can you thrive at 37C in the middle of a desert with no food and water?

The theory is just that at higher temperature the virus inactivate faster thus slowing down it's spread.

  4. Contrary to popular belief, pharmaceutical companies dont have a big incentive to develop vaccine because they are not the most profitable market. There is also the fact that vaccine take on average 10 years to develop with 96% failure rate. We still don't have a vaccine for SARS 18 years later...

You can develop a vaccine overnight but you cant afford to inoculate millions of peoples and find out later that it make them sick like it already happened in the past. It wont happen in less than 2 months. We will be lucky if it happens in less than 18 months but we might find out that treatments like hydroxychloroquine work much sooner.

Thanks Mom, yes I am a messy guy, but I feel very fortunate to have a basement

with its own toilet, and am aware that not all people have such an arrangement.

I am also thankful to have other family members that go shopping, and even

cook my meals. I am very glad to have a laptop and stable connection to my

media sources, so I can keep up with the news.

    Geezer

I hope you have a tissue box with your laptop. ????

But with a death rate of around 2% globally, the talks of lockdowns is absolute nonsense as Italy locked down long ago and their numbers of infected persons are still rising, there is no way to completely stop the spread of anything nowadays. And anyways, the vaccine is many months away, and you can't lock things down that long without compounding problems further.

I have sympathy of course, but again, locking the country down and creating an economic and extra humanitarian crisis when people can't access food won't help.

A more practical solution is needed. Bracing for flaming

Italy went agaisnt the Chinese advisors suggestion of a full lockdown. They just announced today that since the "soft lockdown" isn't working they are now closing all non-essential store and industrial production country wide.

Huge amount of daily jumps now. Similar to how it started in Europe a few weeks ago. Got a feeling they need to impose a proper lockdown (this government have done it before) to avoid Thailand becoming like Italy or Spain very soon.

I heard a military helicopter this morning for the first time since I moved to my small village. I wonder if they are getting ready for a proper lockdown.

    China No2

speaking to a couple of Thai people tonight - they think this virus started in the US, that is what they are being told I kid you not

You not think it came from China - no, some (deleted) about the USA and Iran, I couldn't believe what nonsense they were saying

The whole world knows where it came from but evidently - that is not what the thai government are telling people

My answer  - ask someone from China where it started and they will tell you - China

There is currently a fake news campaign in China that say the virus originated in the US. The chinese government is not censoring it for some reason.

No one in Bangkok gets malaria friend. This medicine will only be available in hospitals and it's probably in short supply as it's ancient and ineffective. It's really only said to possibly be any good against malaria in Africa.

I've spent a good amount of time in Bangkok over the decades. I'm married. I've had 3000 students over the years. I even travel to remote parts of South Thailand and know well the rangers in many parks. I've not heard of one case of malaria. It's all up on the northern fringes and jungles. Not in terminal 21.

There is malaria in Thailand. Not in Bangkok but in the hill and jungle. There is definitely peoples who have malaria that live in Bangkok but did not catch it in Bangkok. Anyway, some poster said they bought this medecine without prescription maybe they are lying. Hard to tell without trying to get any.

I know exactly what it is. How many people get malaria in Bangkok? Further, this in regard to medicine to treat malaria it's long been considered ineffective. Especially against fulciparium malaria (brain). It's a struggle locating duaifenisen. That's OTC in USA.

We are talking about COVID-19: https://www.mediterranee-infection.com/hydroxychloroquine-and-azithromycin-as-a-treatment-of-covid-19/

I suspect more peoples in Bangkok have malaria than in the US. Some users already reported purchasing hydroxychloroquine or chloroquine (can't remember which one) without prescription. Not sure if true, I did not try to get any. Not sure why you try to compare what you can get in USA vs Bangkok. You can also buy antibiotics OTC in Bangkok and can't in the US.
