Topics have been presented for your scientific scrutiny (Transcendental Meditation specifically), a topic that has proven scientific value

OK, I'll play.  No doubt the act of 'meditating' has 'proven scientific value'.  But what measured 'spiritual value'?  I can sit and watch a tank of fish and experience 'proven scientific value' of relaxation, calm, wonder, etc. What exactly are you claiming is TM's 'proven scientific value' ?  Experiences of the mind? Inner spring explosions? Astral Projection?

Show me a chart of said 'proven scientific value' that infers 'proven scientific spirituality'.

  2. Entering Thailand next year on a 60 day SETV with hopes of converting to non-o and retirement extension.  Have round-trip air on KLM for the 55 days flying from Minneapolis to Seoul and then after a few hour layover to BKK.  Guitar is 13 years old, hard case, and I don't want to go through the hassle of trying to get it carry-on.  Also, I don't want to park it here in the U.S. and buy new in Thailand.

    So, based upon that:

    1) What's the success percentage that it'll arrive in Thailand? (and be on the luggage belt waiting for me)

    2) What's the success percentage that Customs will wave me through?

    3) If Customs stops me, what will I owe on a 13 year old guitar that was roughly $2000 new?

Thanks for any experiences or opinions.

Belief without repentance is not belief at all.

    ...

I agree, but have found many JF's that spout the "everyone sins, but I am forgiven" attitude while doing some real nasty things; some done to me, some done to others.

I've also met some very nice JF's, and @CMNightRider may be one of them, and you can tell that they are very good people and practice being good as much as the belief.

Some people do not think they need a savior. These people consider themselves to be “basically good” and do not realize that they, like all people, are sinners who cannot come to God on their own terms. But Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Those who reject Christ will not be able to stand before God and successfully plead their own case on their own merits.

Some people have a savior, consider themselves to be forgiven because they believe, and do not realize that many of the "basically good" people sin much less and cause much less grief to others than themselves. Oh, I forgot, no ranking on sins. To me, repentance is more important than belief; thus I can not sign on with those who believe the opposite.

I've read your book.  Didn't do anything for me, even though 'he' said it would. I assume you'll say my heart was in the wrong place. Seek, and didn't find.

  5. I'm retiring to Thailand at 64y.o.  As I read it, the Special Enrollment Period for those turning 65 overseas and returning 'to live' in the US have 3 months; 2 + month returning month, to enroll WITHOUT PENALTY.  The other options state "You may also qualify", which means 'another way to qualify' vs turning eligible overseas.

My problem, I'll make over the $107,000 as a single in 2019 and they go back 2 years for earnings determination.  That means $270 bucks a month if I sign up next year for something I don't plan on using.  If I wait and don't sign up, my income will be SS + small pension, so I'm back down around the standard premium of $140 (or whatever the low is that year) if I wait until I return to the US to reside.  Even if I delay sign up until 66, my prior income drops dramatically and at 10% penalty I'd still be way under $270 a month.  And yeah, I know that $270 would be readjusted after a year assuming they know my income dropped vs the penalty, should I live long, would probably cost me more in the long run.

I don't want to create an account at the Medicare site, is there a website with chat that I can get my paragraph 1, 100% verified?

  6. I don't know the answer, but could wrap my head around intelligent design as easily as something from nothing. My problem with what mr nightrider says is, who determined that intelligent design came from THE 'God'/Jesus of the bible?  I don't make that correlation.

Mr nightrider has a belief, something I don't have, so all the more power to him.  But I have found through all my years that those being the most 'Jesus-Freaky' do it because they had a bad experience in life and felt better after being 'born again'; joining a 'group' of like believers.  I've never known a 'constant' believer to be so 'pushy' about religion.

What was your bad experience mr nightrider, alcoholism, molestation, ptsd?

  7. What can you tell me about it?

My lady interest is from this area, and Google Maps, she says, has outdated street view.  Pretty desolate, but she says it's much more built up now with shops and such.

Anyone live here, or visit here that can fill me in?

    Thanks.

Really? is that a sincere question, or are you goading me on here? It is about doing what Thai women, or alot of Latin women do. And that is embracing that which makes them special. Their femininity. American women are scared to death of their femininity. They think by expressing it, they are somehow weaker, or lesser, or will be scorned by other women. There is so much dignity within true femininity. Not the garbage being spewed by the huge numbers of misandristic women there today. Femininity is a huge attribute. One that men are desperately seeking in women. Yet, so many are unable to express it on any level. Who wants to be around a woman who is more masculine than I am? Not much fun in that.

I agree, but what you say here is primarily caused by those same 'leftist' ideals that you cling to.  (not to start a political sub-discussion) ????

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions—is not from the Father but is from the world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.

  10. You would pity me. All my IRA and savings are in CD's earning 2.5%. But I've always been ultra conservative and I figure if the FDIC crashes at least I've done the most to protect my money. (Other than gold or hiding it in my mattress)

I do believe a reset is coming in my remaining lifetime. Maybe I'm stupid, but as the U.S. goes, so do I. (Not that I'm patriotic)

The prophetic messages of the Bible are coming true in our day.  In 2 Timothy, written almost 2,000 years ago, it says, “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:  For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power…” (2 Timothy 3:1-5). Isn’t that happening?  The Bible says in the latter period travel shall increase, knowledge will increase (Daniel 12:4).  Look what has happened in the last 75 years in the world.  The whole world has become a neighborhood without being a brotherhood.  That’s precisely what the Bible said 500 years before Christ.

Prophetic?  People have had those traits for all time.  Just a generalized knowledge of human nature preached to make every generation believe they best behave because they're in 'the end times'.  Give us something specific @CMNightRider; because, God.
