This is perhaps the most significant meeting of 2 heads of state ever. Full credit to Trump for arranging this historic summit, just 3 years ago the possibility of such a meeting would have been scoffed at. Yet 2 years into Trumps first term here we are. Incredible. Yet what is unbearably sad is that many of the left would seemingly prefer nuclear war to break out than concede Trump is indeed the master of the deal. He is making the world a far safer place - let us not forget that when Trump won his election residents of Japan and Guam were preparing for nuclear armaggeddon.

Good luck to the two men and their teams. Who cares why Kim didn't fly or what color Trump is. Who cares.

Not true. The Asian tourists kept coming to Guam, Business went on as usual. No Armageddon. Nothing changed instead the Kim got one thing the Kims have always wanted, without a single concession. The American president groveling before him. Trump is a chump who got hoodwinked.

If i had seen dogs doing that to my son i would have killed them straight away with bare hands and thrown them inside the policestation before leaving to the airport to never come back.

Last week there was a guy who killed a lion with bare hands, read that in the newspaper.

It was an undernourished juvenile Mountain lion in also  known as a cougar or puma and it almost got the best of the young man.

I happen to care about what happens to my wife and two boys after 15 years here, should I die. Intestate is not an option and the Thai will is in place. However we are talking about my hard earned savings and I am not a charity to the local government and never have been. I will ask the principle question AGAIN - where does it state in the Thai Immigration T&Cs of Extension of Stay, in the English language, that the total 800K deposit will be unfrozen and returned to the beneficiaries of my will automatically, without penalty, without any delay and without question? If this understanding is not in place, then all you 'holier than thou' goody two shoes are leaving yourselves wide open to abuse of your deposited funds.

    What penalty? What delays?

Immigration has no access to accounts and never has or will. In your case in place your wife will have no problems as a Thai will is in place. Freezing of accounts has upon notification of death has nothing to do with immigration status. You have nothing to worry about. Most of the "dont trust Thai banks" brigade just actually cant stump up the 800 or are obsessed with barstool legends from people who have not worked since the 1970s.

  4. Tell em youve  bought a  camper  van and stay in a  different province everyday.......wait for the confused deer  in the headlights  look

Ha! When Chinese were driving down in convoys of Camper vans it became a problem in Chiang Mai/Rai so they banned it. Them dumping their “wastes” inconsiderately also.

Foreigners can only camp in National Parks at ten times price or campgrounds where they take your passport details or it is illegal.

More than likely you'd be allowed in at the airport. If you're intending to book a flight to KL anyway, can you use it as a backup option in the event of a rejection? I'm not sure what immigration would do if they rejected someone and they were then presented with an ongoing flight to another country within the next few hours - would the person be allowed to use it?

That is basically what I did when I was told I had to buy a ticket back to my home country, I which I flat refused to do. They call airline staff to get you boarding pass and send you packing.

If anyone can get fined, it's the condo building manager for not filing a TM30, but not you. It's the same "mechanism" as staying over at a hotel: the hotel should register you with Immigration police (some do...) and not you!

I am the owner and user of the condo TM30 IS responsibility.

This condo has been an apparent subject of interest due to many illegal Air n B Chinese trying to crack down but it is a complex issue.

why do you not do the tm30 yourself that way you know its done and you get a receipt

I could but would prefer to avoid. In my experience it  took 5 minutes to several hours. To update the TM30 and staple it in my passport promenada was a madhouse. Maybe better now at new building?

You did not state your visa, extension or whatever. You state you own the condo. Why would you be "checking in" with pp front desk. Arrested for what? You purchase a condo in los and adk if you can be arrested? Just curious.

The condo wants to do the TM30, which is convenient. Police checks? I only have a copy on me but friends who can fetch the pp in case I was stopped. We also check in each other at least once a day, a buddy system.

I guess my question should be do the Chiang Mai police care if I don't have a TM30 stapled into my passport?

Exact same issue for me yesterday.  Went to top up my card, which I've used for years for both convenience and rewards points, and was told I could not longer use it because the card is not registered.  And that it can only be registered with a Thai ID.   In fact, they even asked me if the card was mine and where I'd orginally purchased it.

Reportedly, it's because "criminals were using the cards for cash laundering" (Rabbit cards, as well).  Frankly, this makes no sense to me, because it's simply a stored-value card and to the best of my knowledge can only be used to pay for goods; it cannot be used to get cash or even cash change.  It's only worth whatever the holder has put on it and it's only useable at 7-Eleven.  It's not a credit/debit/cash advance card.  In other words, if I have 500 baht on my card, I cannot simply walk in and ask them to give me 500 baht, bringing my balance down to zero, or buy a candy bar and get 475 baht cash change in return.  So I don't see how it's used for money laundering.  Seems silly to me for the need to "register" a stored-value card.  Sillier still that people without Thais ID's (expats, tourists, etc.) cannot have one.  And now the Rabbit card is following suit?  How do they expect tourists to purchase a 30-day Rabbit pass or top up their cards without a Thai ID?  My Rabbit card is already registered, years ago, but not with a Thai ID.  Does this mean my Rabbit card will also no longer be valid next time I go to top it up?  Furthermore, will this also apply to MRT cards?  What about food court cards at various malls? (you know the ones - can't pay with cash, need to purchase a stored value card instead.  Same concept.)

Another commenter wrote: "They actually told me to get a Thai friend to register for me. Walking around with a Thai persons cash card sounds an easy way to get arrested over some misunderstanding won’t be doing that."

Again, it's not really a cash card - one cannot use it to get cash.  It's merely a stored value card and can only be used at whatever vendor accepts the card.  The user cannot redeem a 7-Eleven card for cash or get cash change, as far as I know.  And I can't walk into Power Buy and buy a large screen TV with my 7-Eleven card.  That being said, I agree it may become an issue if 7-Eleven's will now be required to ask for ID's when using a 7-Eleven card.  My Thai friend graciously offered to register the card for me.  But if my card now technically belongs to her, what happens when I go to use this card I've had for years and now they ask for my ID?

In the end, the 7-Eleven thing is really just an inconvenience.  The sun will still rise tomorrow.  But the Rabbit card issue is going to become a real hassle.  I can only imagine what the lines at the BTS windows will be like.

  9. US situation too. They are arrogant, want roads narrowed and replaced by bike lanes at millions of dollars per mile. I like riding bikes but I’m not going to block roads single file with a Lycra wrapped butt in a motorists windshield for miles. There is plenty of space on roads for bikes and cars as long as people drive / ride carefully.

Another incident group of loud drunks on, guy drops trou and pisses on the side of the Nimmanhemin Tesco lotus spirit house. Stupid, and embarrassing.

  11. Set a maximum of 6 months per year on a tourist status like most countries and be done with it. Allow those who are entitled to visa exempts use them as intended (multiple entries). Non immigrant visas stop 90 day reports and TM30s unless you move. Establish  foreigner id card that must be carried at all times and is proof of address and permission to stay. Link to a Kingdom wide database that can be  accessed by any IO or police man on his mobile. No more  "show passport". Cant even top up my 7/11 card anymore.
