So, knives are just as dangerous as guns?

FBI statistics show that more people are killed by knives, hammers, clubs, or personal fists/feet than by all types of rifles combined. Most homicides are by handgun however over 60% of all firearm deaths are suicide.  Of the remaining 40% the majority are urban gang related killings typically involving the drug trade.  If guns were the problem cities with strict gun controls like New York, and Chicago would not have the majority of gun related deaths while areas with lax gun controls like Kennsaw, Georgia outside Atlanta have a low percentage of gun related crimes. The USA has a drug problem and it spills over into gun violence.  The mass shootings are something different.  However in 2017 and 2018 there were only 340, and 346 people killed in mass shootings.  A very low percentage of the total homicides.

  2.  90% not 100% will show improvement in vision with cataract surgery and that most patients will still require some form of prescription following surgery.  If you opt for monofocal lens, you will most likely need a prescription for reading. It you opt for multi-focal the lens fitting is more demanding and you may still need a prescription for both distance and reading.  These may increase the starburst effect of light at night.  If you opt for a toric lens for astigmatism the surgery is not more complex but its alignment is paramount.  If misaligned a toric implant will cause blurry vision that can not be adjusted with glasses.

  3. I have the need for corrective lenses for distance, reading, and I have astigmatism.  When I was younger I had laser surgery to correct the astigmatism and the distance vision.  I can tell you I wish I had never done it.  Yes for a period of time, I did not need glasses to see distance.  However, immediately I needed glasses to read with.  When you are older Presbyopia causes you to lose the focus ability close up and the laser surgery to correct distance then unmasks the Presbyopia if you are near sighted.  You will get the same effect if you wear single vision glasses for distance.  You won't be able to read.  Now my corneas are flat and contact lens do not fit properly.  I can not use the new multifocal contacts.  If you have astigmatism and need correction for both distance and reading you can try the TORIC lenses.  Multi-Focal to correct both distance and close up.  Also, try mono vision.  One contact in dominant eye for distance, one in other eye with prescription for reading. The TORIC lenses correct for astigmatism and should help with the starburst effect at night.

Regarding cataracts, my closes friend is a Ophthalmologist.  He said that you want to do cataract surgery only when the cataracts are so bad that they are impacting your life.  In the meantime stick with glasses or contacts.  He stated that though cataract surgery is very simple, getting the correct lens replacement is inexact and made more difficult if you have lasik surgery. He said that he would never recommend multi-focal lenses for cataract correction.  He said they are far too difficult to accurately fit.  He said when absolutely necessary do the cataract surgery but go with single vision and then rely on glasses to read.  The likelihood is that you will still need some glasses to make you 20/20, correct for the astigmatism, and have added power for reading.

The vast majority of countries that use capital punishment have high murder snd crime rates, including the US.

Singapore has capital punishment and a very low rate. They use the tried and true method that criminals have a reasonable certainty of being apprehended, the punishment for crimes is severe, and carried out expeditiously.  The US has capital punishment in only 29 states.  Its effectiveness is muted because of lengthy appeals that often have those on death row dying of old age rather than execution. Last year in the USA only 25 people were executed.

I hope in that documentary also will be mentioned how little the Polish did to help their Jews.

puipuitom What were they suppose to do?  Throw Kielbasa at them?  The French had a modern, army, navy, and air force.  On June 5, 1940 the German offensive against France began. On June 25, the French formally surrendered.

Oh yea you are soooo right the Obama disaster lol I rember what he started with and what he ended his term with he and his TEAM rescued our country from an economic disaster

Tug you are confusing correlation with causation.  Obama was in office when the economy went into freefall and it slowly climbed out of its abyss.  However his policies had the worst economic recovery in history.  If you go into a hospital and the doctor gives you completely wrong treatment but you survive.  Do you credit the doctor with your recovery? Look at the anemic GDP growth.  Only president in history to never have even a 3% GDP once and that was from a low point.  His policies had 1 out of 7 people in the USA on Food Stamps.

  7. First, I have had carpal tunnel surgery back in the USA.  You have to have a nerve conduction test to show that you do have nerve impingement.  The surgery is a piece of cake. There is a small incision made at the wrist and a small tendon is severed relaxing the impingement.  It is done on an outpatient basis and just a local anesthesia.

Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu had warned last week that Ankara would begin to send back Islamic State militants to their home countries on Monday even if their citizenships have been revoked.

Great, send them back so they can continue their terrorist activities again.  These people are not entitled to be treated as prisoners of war under the Geneva convention.  They are non-uniformed.  As such they should be treated as terrorist spies and sentenced accordingly

It is mandatory only for hospitals that accept federal medicare/medicaid funds to provide necessary and urgent medical care to anyone.

Scott, you are incorrect.  PRIVATE hospitals may turn away people.  Any PUBLIC hospital must provide care.  And ALL hospitals must provide EMERGENCY care irrespective of insurance.
