I can tell my wife I like her hair long and she gets it cut. I still love her. She likes it one way I like it another. I still love her.

We do not always see eye to eye. But I will always try to understand. Not that I always do but I try and I can bet she does not understand me some things. I do not want my wife to be anything but what she is.

Easiest answer is not to wai at all. The Thai will expect you not to understand the reasons or levels of respect and who has more standing in a situation. And it does have many different levels from class to status to wealth and standing.

I have seen many falang many who think they are bringing respect by returning it or waiing first and really they appear foolish

with no concept of why. A nod or handshake is much safer IMO.

I have seen something similar. We called the Rama Gardens from Hong KOng as we boarded our Thai Air flight that was getting in very late 11 p.m or so and asked about room rates and was told 2400 baht and there were rooms which was fine. After clearing customs and such we got the Taxi to the Rama Gardens and was told that the room rate was 7300 Thai baht. I know I know I should have booked a room and such. I just felt they were rail roading us as it was so late and thought we were desperate. Which we were not. I just wanted a room with A.C on the first night close to the old airport. In the end we just got in the taxi and went out to Min Buri to our house and got my fix of A.C in the Taxi and had to settle with a Fan.

Its funny but I was sending stuff back to Canada a number of times and it would vanish and then my wife started writting out the address label and writting abit of Thai on the package and it seems to help. Maybe it has nothing to do with the stuff going missing but as I said it seems more stuff was getting through.

We bought at Lotus Tosco as it was close and the prices all seemed similar. I would reccommend you get the extended warranty

. It was 500 baht I think. We got it for the washing machine and it came in handy as we had a few problem. One where a mice got in and ate some of the wire and there was a problem of the pump and filter plugged with sediment from the water. Paid for itself. But up to you.

how much is your budget? Well, for example for entry level you may want to consider Nikon D40 (6Mp), Nikon D40x (10Mp) or Canon 400D (8Mp). Price wise I would get the D40 as it is just as good as the D40x and 400D.

Well the cheaper the better. But D40 was what I was leaning towards. How do the Lens compare between the Cannon and Nikon.

All my life I was told that Nikon lens were far better then Cannon. I have had a Cannon for 12 years by the way and I like the sturdy feel and it has always suited me fine.
