  1. Its a 'normal' function in iPhones that is activated if you don't switch off your phone occasionally and restart. It will ask you to use your phone pin to open the phone. I'm not sure why ... maybe it's a timer of some sort that will occasionally have you enter your pin as a safety mech just in case someone may have gotten hold of your phone and kept it open and active or some such security thing. It also might be because you haven't turned your phone on and off in quite a while (its surprising how many people don't do this - its necessary) which is required to reset the phone op system, to autogenerate downloads of software, security and op system patches etc.
  2. Yeah Qatar is a superb airline and has arguably some of the best business and first class food in the sky. I use them regularly always fly business and occasionally first on really long trips, so I know whats what with this class of flying. The issue, gripe of not getting a window seat in a 1-2-1 or similar sparse seating compartment is hilarious to say the least. Of course there are glitches in service sometimes. When booking the different legs are clearly stated and seating is available to be selected (a choice for the passenger to select or not) across all legs. I have had less than perfect service with the ME3 (which is my mainstay when flying) especially during, and as the chaos of the Covid disruption hallo dissolves. But these less than stellar experiences have been very rare. Qatar is definitely a marque airline. As for waiting in lines in the airbridge as a business or first passenger thats on you ... you can delay boarding without any issue (as is a perk of such class flying) and never stand in queues like that by simply checking with the concierge desk in the lounge as to when to board. Qatary ground lounge staff are most helpful and efficient in such things. They will tell you if the flight is on schedule or if any delays (like cleaning of an aircraft) are likely to be present and you can simple return to your plush lounge seat and drink another glass of free champagne until the staff come and let you know boarding is okay to do.
  3. Over the neighbours wall hahahaha ????

  7. Man these folks got a few kangaroos loose in the top paddock! There are some seriously dangerous critters in Thai jungles.
  8. Good job Mr or Mrs python. These harmless snakes (well as long as you aren't a much loved small child, small dog, or cat that is) do a great natural clean-up service for all sorts of vermin. I'm not sure about pythons, but in Oz black snakes predate on the much, much deadlier brown and taipan snakes.
  9. After a few beers I wouldn't care too lol ????????
  10. Wasn't there a song way way back, an old Faces song ' Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man.' lol ????
  11. And so the needles deaths from no restraints being worn will continue. Sad very sad.
  12. The land of litigation hahaha ????????????????
  13. I have a not to dissimilar scenario to yours mate. I have assets and wills in Australia (British and Australian laws hold much commonality) and Thailand and had them drafted to comply with and not conflict with either nations laws around wills, assets and beneficiaries. Maybe go to the well known American lawyer here; Benjamin at Integrity Legal in Khrong Thep and ask his advice. Wont cost you much for an initial consult, then you can go from there. If you want to be doubly sure maybe have Benjamin coordinate with a lawyer you know in the Old Dart to be certain of conformance with British Law, Benjamin being an American and most familiar with US law and Thai law. He did with my stuff. Paying for such advice and drafting of documents is cheap (when you think of the amount of assets being left, the emotional anguish and possible financial problems that can come to those you love from not leaving a cohesive will when you die). I'd go get married - civil in Thailand asap, make up a will for your wife and yourself, then dovetail connect (non-legal speak) your UK will to coordinate and confirm the Thai one/s. This won't take too long and be sound if Benjamin has anything to do with it.
  14. Yep it is definitely without doubt now Patt's is 'a world class resort' ????????????????
  15. Here here brad. It is predictable as the sun setting that someone here would say directly, or imply, clearly imply, that the woman was at fault for the violence e.g why didn't she just leave, why did she continue to converse with the man etc etc. The comments of her deliberately procuring a gun and then using it as premeditated is not out of the ordinary either for a abused person. Those who say 'oh well he wasn't with her anymore so why did she go and kill him' i.e. that was unnecessary belies understanding of the trauma and disassembling of an abused persons psyche by the abuser, and the terror and absolute infestation of another life an abuser creates. To the woman it may well have been quite real and sane to plan and kill this person because she never believed that he would not return and beat her or in fact kill her. I worked for 3 decades as a family, and mens therapist much of it in DV services and in private practice. For many, many, many men the patriarchal privilege and blindness runs very deep and is in no way known to them. Hence some of the comments posted here regarding this incident. Your words about "experience the world of women" is so spot on. When men get to actually sit still, learn to listen, with their hearts not the rationalising brains, to drop down out of the heads into their gut and explore patriarchy and the poisonous pedagogy inherent in our world and its power over women and their experiences walking around on this patriarchal planet then one begins, if one is exceedingly lucky and humble enough to allow it, to see and feel the insecurity and threat that women live under in our world. The raping, bashing, intimidation, the psychological control, often subtle and so acculturated that many, many men are unable to see it and how this pedagogy asserts itself over the women in their lives is (in some and many societies) fail to see how endemic, denied, excused, justified and widespread DV is. The locus of all DV is control and power NOT the violence itself. The violence is, in respect to some facets of the cycle of relational abuse, a part of the cycles 'release' or reset so as to initiate yet another cycle which once established will lead to further violence. One of the features of prolonged spousal abuse whether male to female or visa vera is the loss of self for the abused and the complete dependence or obsession/fixation on the abuser. Such fixation is for self-preservation reasons for the abused, AND a desired outcome by the abuser as the offender wishes to be in complete control and the centre of attention. Such is the want of such an immaturely, severely narcissistically formed self. The features of this woman's relationship and her continuing to engage with him indicates both these common, (becoming more-so over time), and specifically induced by the abuser. Her wanting to kill herself after killing him points to the loss of a love or care for the self - I would assert induced by the abuser deliberately as a mechanism of breaking down the victim so as to cement control, and proof she was indeed abused serially over a lengthy period e.g. some few years at least. The tensions and paradoxes between killing him and then almost herself shows those tension between attempts to preserve the self from the abuser and yet be lost in the abuser to the point of wanting to end ones own life. Her open anger, and expulsion of him is perhaps supported by some other dynamics we don't know e.g. some family or other males around that made him leave, and kept him from revisiting her with further violence episodes once he was tossed out. Perhaps his reputation in community being sullied if the threat of disclosure was made. Either way to see an abuser off (make them leave and stay away) is very rare and she was lucky he didn't escalate and kill her for it. Most abused run, sadly many many don't. Some turn to police and are now, in some jurisdictions, more and more being believed and supported. The data on this challenging of patriarchal rules in LOS I do not hold so I am supposing about there being change here as there is albeit ever so slowly in other nations in the world. The abuser leaving freely is quite unusual (unless he's going to be grabbed by plod or served vigilante justice by some folks and the abuser sees that coming) because usually the man will either kill or simply continue to beat, and psychologically terrorise the victim with impunity ad infinitum for the entirety of the relationship until old age when the beating may stop due to infirmity but the psychological abuse and threat of imminent rage and violence still exists unto death. After prolonged trauma there is no need for physical violence anymore because the abused has been truly imprisoned and 'broken'. For people to enter into a relationship that eventually becomes abusive there is much debate and contention as to how and what makes a person not see the traits within a person that indicate an abuser? ergo, its her fault and whats wrong with her? A simple response to this is the abuser besides always being severely narcissistic, is also severely neurotically pathological and sociopathic. One major feature of sociopathic people is an ability to fool, con, seduce others. I make no judgment of right or wrong in this case by either party. The only untypical features in this case are the abused get away (expelled the abuser), she lived, and the abuser was killed not the abused.

  21. Because a top-secret operation was carried out just after Johnson (an android) was placed in power by the dark Soros forces, just after which super secret stealth French undercover agents kidnapped the entire UK government and substituted them all with android bots ... the UK is now a puppet of the evil world cabal lol ???????????????? The passports are actually impregnated with sinister mind controlling stupor inducing chemicals to make you all believe you are safe and secure .... insert evil maniacal laughter here
  22. Yep! I saw that word stand out too! Mandatory and overseen by the fire department supervised inspection department (if they even have those?)
  23. I'm looking into an EQE EV for my island driving Home after use, plug into my home charging station (solar fed) for a free (after the system is paid for that is) top-up ready for the next jaunt. Nice to drive and know I am not adding to the stink and pollution (well, except for my truly deplorable character disseminating its cankerous odour will-nilly). There are some awesome EV's and hybrids on the market and coming online every year. Each gen getting better and better. I'd love to see the MOT replace the entire LOS stinky Thai bus system with EV or hydrogen driven, subsidise all baht buses the same, and invest in further development of decent sized electric bikes and encourage (tax incentives?) in leaving the vast majority of internal combustion engined motocys to go for recycling. Come on Honda and all you other super rich powerful mothers !
  24. How terribly sad and despicable too. Try to imagine the terror of the folks who died and those who were burnt and escaped with their lives!!? This issue of non-retardant claddings and interior panelling fit-outs is a worldwide issue and the misuse of improper materials is not unique to LOS mores the pity (and outrage). The issues of owners and managers of businesses where fire doors are locked, obstructed, covered/obscured by heavy blockout curtains, fire stairs (if existent) completely inadequate to codes, no or partial weak sprinkler systems. The list of fire safety violations and derelictions goes on, and are not peculiar nor particular to LOS. Grenfell in England, similar (but less loss of life) catastrophe on east coast Australia not long ago. In lieu of that horrific, avoidable tragedy in England and a smaller one in Oz a short time later Oz officials inspected and announced that there were hundreds upon hundreds of high rise buildings in Australia clad externally in the exact same type/groups of flammable claddings on buildings as Grenfell. I can only imagine how many places in LOS are like this illegally categorised and operating club. The issues of non-compliance, shoddy and improper regulations allowing fitment of such materials to both internal and external building fit-outs is common across the globe even in so-called first world nation with perceived high-regulation standards, along with blinkered/poor building inspection procedures, poor and confusing regulations e.g. open to interpretation rather than fixed clear guidelines these avoidable mass incinerations will continue and those responsible will be inconvenienced not one jot, and get off Scott-free.
