Royal Thai Navy rescues foreigners after yacht breaks down in Krabi

Judging by the photo, they finally found The Blue Diamond. Thankfully they didn't murder anybody this time. Yet. -
Give the poor peasants one good night of food and drink fur fek sake. You won't miss it, and give them a break from their home-prepared dusty stony rice with boiled entrails after a 14 hour day of slogging for 200 baht.

Documents to buy used motorbike and change name?
JeffersLos replied to JeffersLos's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
Thanks for the information. I guess if there is a hiccup on my side it is okay, I can rectify it later, as long as the office confirm everything is okay in regards to the motorcycle and seller's documents. -
Buyer (me) and Thai seller have agreed to meet to buy/sell the motorbike. I have a pink Thai ID card, a yellow house book and 5 year driving license, and of course my passport with Non-Immigrant visa extension. Do I need anything else? Is this a correct location to transfer ownership? https://www.google.com/maps/place/Department+of+Transportation/@18.766908,99.0053795,19z/data=!4m13!1m7!3m6!1s0x0:0xb11f72aa511616c!2zMTjCsDQ2JzAwLjgiTiA5OcKwMDAnMjAuOSJF!3b1!8m2!3d18.766889!4d99.005806!3m4!1s0x30da301b3e1c5d43:0x40a905dcdce868bf!8m2!3d18.7668006!4d99.0059486 Or can do it here? Or is this only for driving licences? https://www.google.com/maps/place/Chiang+Mai+Provincial+Land+Transport+Office/@18.7441493,98.9593104,17z/data=!4m13!1m7!3m6!1s0x0:0xb11f72aa511616c!2zMTjCsDQ2JzAwLjgiTiA5OcKwMDAnMjAuOSJF!3b1!8m2!3d18.766889!4d99.005806!3m4!1s0x0:0x3c105fb58c519ddf!8m2!3d18.7453088!4d98.9618907 TIA

KTM ownership in Thailand. Reliability, parts etc?
JeffersLos replied to JeffersLos's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
I've been offered a friend of a friend's 2009 ER6n with 55,000KM on the ODO and a new face, with the original face included (it was changed because the OEM face is awful looking, not because it was crashed) and Leo Vince exhaust (stated it's real but I presume a copy) for 50,000THB. So I'll probably be lazy and just buy that after giving it a good once over. -

KTM ownership in Thailand. Reliability, parts etc?
JeffersLos replied to JeffersLos's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
Thanks for the information. That's the kind of thing I expected, and puts me off. I'll take the extra cost of the Kawasaki 650 series with dealers and parts everywhere. -

I am considering a Duke 390 or an RC 390 as an everyday runaround. They're light, nimble, okay power, cheap maintenance in terms of gas, oil, tires etc. The issue is that they're not known as the most reliable brand on the planet, and there's only one dealer here, that isn't really a dealership, they have 3 bikes and also do other brands, so I doubt they have many parts on hand, or have lots of experience working on their models. Are there any KTM riders here, and what are your experiences? Reliability is a big factor in the purchase, so I'm also looking at the bigger Kawasaki 650cc twin cylinders. Bigger and heavier and more expensive to run, but an ease of parts with big dealers everywhere, I would guess they are known to be more reliable. A middle option is the CBR500 series, but I find those boring. What are your experiences about KTM reliability and servicing/parts etc here? TIA.

An unbelievable 63. I only wanted them to take me to their sister's house. -
