  1. It is speculation. It was a rather serious offence:- assaulting a police officer and then no evidence in the news of a trial or sentencing. Furthermore no news on their release or trip to NZ. It reeks of cash money changing hands. In the past for similar offences foreigners were locked up for years.
  2. There you go!! Dumb and Dumber, off they went a few million spent to set them free!
  3. I hate travelling by Sky train during rush hour. I hate getting stuck in traffic during rush hour. There you have it: Catch 22.
  4. I suppose you mean the opposite? e.g. indifferent, right? or maybe callous?
  5. To top it all, now the whole world must "chip-in" to go-fund me.
  6. It is fairly common. Every person handling your passport think they are working for immigration. I've had many arguments with bank staff about this. My I.D. part of my passport is the only thing that concerns them. My visa is non of their business!!!
  7. Like everything else the prices of goods and services are relative. We don't eat imported canned goods as a rule because it is expensive. Transport is very expensive in europe for example a bus trip of 10 Euro may seem like a pittance in Europe is 397 Thai baht! So what you lose on the swing you will make up on the roundabouts.
  8. Yep. The year Y2k. No 90 days reporting. No TM 30.
  9. Here is my 5c worth Foreigners in Thailand: A Diverse Community Thailand, with its vibrant culture, stunning landscapes, and warm climate, attracts a significant number of expatriates from around the world. While it’s essential to recognize the diversity within this community, I’ll address some common stereotypes and misconceptions associated with foreigners in Thailand. 1. Obese and Unhygienic: It’s unfair to generalize, but some foreigners may struggle with weight management due to lifestyle changes or dietary habits. Hygiene practices vary among individuals, regardless of nationality. 2. Sexpat Stereotype: Unfortunately, some foreigners come to Thailand seeking exploitative relationships or engaging in sex tourism. However, this label doesn’t apply to the entire expat community. 3. Old and Not in Good Health: Thailand is a popular retirement destination, attracting older expats seeking a relaxed lifestyle. While some may face health issues, many maintain active lives. 4. Criminal Types: Like any population, there are both law-abiding and criminal expatriates. Most foreigners contribute positively to Thai society. 5. Short of Money: Some expats live frugally, while others enjoy a comfortable lifestyle. Economic situations vary widely. 6. Neglect and Loud Behavior: Occasionally, expats may disregard local customs or show insensitivity. However, many genuinely appreciate Thai culture and respect their surroundings. 7. Self-Entitled Behavior and Arrogance: A minority of foreigners exhibit entitlement or arrogance. Most, though, embrace humility and cultural understanding. 8. Aggressiveness: Instances of aggression exist, but they’re not representative of the entire expat community. Many foreigners value peace and harmony. Conclusion Foreigners in Thailand form a rich tapestry of backgrounds, personalities, and experiences. It’s crucial to avoid stereotypes and recognize the positive contributions they make to Thai society. Let’s celebrate diversity and foster understanding! 🌟🤝
  10. Well, the manner in which they assaulted the policeman, they looked like cage fighters.
  11. I am just curious:- What happened to the two cage fighter brothers who attacked the cop in Phuket? Are they still waiting to go to trial?
  12. Money talks, BS walks. The long and short.
  13. When frequenting these establishment, don't run a tab. Pay as you go. Beer by beer. First go to a 7/11. Buy a bottle of water, to get change for a 1,000 baht.
  14. Honestly, I don't really care. Have been doing it for 16 years. I was just surprised to hear from some applicants that they didn't submit 2 sets. That's why I asked.
  15. I need some clarification: I have been on a Non O marriage visa since 2008. Every year two sets of documents and visa application forms are required by my local immigration office. Now it seems that not all immigration offices require 2 sets of documents. Is that true?
  16. How do they know they're foreigners? They could be Thai?
  17. Priorities chaps, priorities. We are entering the holiday season. Focus on streamlining the immigration orocess at the airports, not slowing it down!!!
  18. Honestly - waste of time. Use a taxi.
  19. When you work with a Non - O marriage visa, you are in control of your Visa. if your employment is terminated for whatever reason, your visa is safe. I changed a B-Visa to Non 0 marriage in 2008, without leaving the country.
  20. Why do you want to apply from outside Thailand? Which immigration office is nearest to your school?
