Sadly they aren't. I payed close to 4k Euros for the return ticket with Swiss.

My flight from ZRH to BKK on Nov. 23 is fully booked in the BC but there are plenty of seats in Economy

If you take the 800k option and have your paperwork done there's absolutelly no need to pay an agent imo. The process is fast and easy.

Surprisingly the Thai Pass systems seems to run smoothly now.

Did my registration today at 1 pm and recieved "approved"-mail after less than 5 hours.

You're comparing Chinese tourists with western longstayers/retirees. I don't think the requirements for Chinese retirees would be different to ours, if there were elderly Chinese wanting to stay long time.

But you're right if you say they don't want long stayers with lower incomes.

Very sad for those who were here for decades and now feel they're not welcome anymore. But this is Thailand. Everybody should know nothings sure here.

If they give you a contract offering a specified salary, you can sign it or not. It's up to you.
