  1. As per her, he deserted because he was no able to provide financial support.
  2. Bottom line is it is very drawn out process and she already summarized the process in two words, "no easy".
  3. One of my ex sugar baby was married to a farang in an amphur but her husband has deserted her a year ago. Now she found another farang (not me). How can she get a proper divorce to marry another person without the husband's cooperation. Husband's whereabouts unknown.
  4. Use this one,I bet it will be perfect. Both the software were as old as the MSDOS.If it is not perfect, I don't think the developers are just sitting idle instead of fixing the issues. I tried one and it came out perfect. https://www.adobe.com/acrobat/online/pdf-to-excel.html
  5. May be you can convert a pdf to excel. If you look for a software, I bet it is there.
  6. My friend was DN for twenty years and he has stayed all over the World, including Thailand, but has never paid any taxes in any country except in his home country.
  7. OMG 20 documents. No wonder my friend hands over his Passport and bank book to an agent for his extension.
  8. I have a Schwab Checking account that offers ATM reimbursement. I used it initially when I came to Thailand to get money from ATM and get my ATM fees reimbursed. Later I opened multiple Thai accounts and and now I hardly use it. I moved all the money I had there to another account that offers better returns. Now may be I have $50 sitting there.
  9. If people have loads of funds, they won't have any problem getting accounts in a banks.
  10. They do variations to suit the local cuisine and palates but it is essentially an American thing. Hence, western.
  11. How early? My friend got his through an agent and he said he had apply at least three weeks remaining on the permitted to stay date.
  12. Went to a few night clubs on Walking street at the end of May and they were packed. No place to move around. Then went to a few clubs in Sukhumvit Soi 11, Bangkok. Those venues were also packed.
  13. A poster mentioned that in the Western county, a wife will take everything - car, house, etc. upon divorce.
  14. In the USA without a prenup, she is only entitled to half of the assets accumulated during the marriage.
  15. May be check with an agent that will open only Bank Account, without the retirement visa. Opening bank accounts on a Tourist Visa is an issue many have posted it.
  16. If a poster lays out pros and cons of using both methods, then it is OK. But so far nobody has posted a convincing arguments for using cash.
  17. Taking example of 7/11, I don't communicate. I simply wave my CC, or phone or pulled out cash from my wallet, and I found the person behind the counter smart enough to set me up for the transactions. Yes I communicate in places like Tukom because I want to ascertain if they are going to charge a fee for CC usage.
  18. I also don't understand the fascination of buying properties using cash at the late age of 70!. People buying properties for personal use or as an investment using mortgages I understand.
  19. Not a single convincing argument for using cash vs. credit for me.
  20. Yes, there are shops that will ask for, say 3% (which is not allowed in the US, anyway). It also depends on how many shops are competing. In Tukom and Fortune I have seen many vendors change their tune when I simply say, "OK, I will look for another shop who won't charge me". I pay 5% in some bars in Pattaya but as I mentioned earlier it was a wash for me because I get 5% cash back in restaurant and bars.
  21. I have a dozen or more cards with no international transaction fees. I said whenever it's possible it means if I have a choice. If not, I will pay cash if I happen to carry but that situation has hardly occurred in the US or Europe but it can happen in Thailand. I then go for scan (no advantage except avoiding a trip to ATM and better bookkeeping).
  22. Not even 7/11s have dual prices for cash and credit cards. Some vendors in Tucom wanted cash but as soon as I told them thank you I will look for a vendor who will accept my cards and lo and behold they also want my business using cards. Some bars do charge 5%. But I also get 5% cash back in restaurant and bars. So it was a wash.
