Hi TB,
It sounds like they don't know if it is malignant or not, which is a bit surprising as there are advanced CAT scans and other non-invasive means of diagnosis - but maybe they don't have those where he is. Diagnosis of course would be the first thing to get done. Bumrungrad, which I have had experience with, and I suppose the other of the big hospitals, have USA board certified specialists on staff. My understanding is that that certification is not easy to get, and unlike many other who just hang out a shingle without any advanced training or experience, they are indeed specialists in their field. If it is was me or a loved one, I would feel much better with a board certified radiologist and eventually surgeon(s) involved.
I've seen some posts here, only one come to think of it, where people have not been happy with Bumrungrad. It's been a long time since I was there, but they were pretty easy to talk to and would even quote on procedures where possible. They were recommended to me by an American doctor living in Thailand, and while I was only there for a colonoscopy, I was favourably impressed.

Hi,
Any agents interested in appraising a house in Sattahip, please PM me.
-
There is no document that you sign at your local amphu officer. As a farang you will sign a document that says the money that your wife used to buy the house was and is hers and was not given by you. This done at your local land office.
Thanks for clearing that up. Do you know the name of the document or where I can see/download a copy online?
-
When a Thai goes to sell property, say a married woman who has not changed her last name, how does the land office know if it is common property with a spouse or not? Do they always ask? If not, and the sale goes through without spousal approval, is that a criminal act on the part of the seller?
-
Can someone tell me the name of that document that has to be signed at the amphur to legalize purchase of land by a Thai-married-to-farang.
Thanks.

It looks like I have beat the odds on this one.
After confirming at least 4 times we did not have a Nor Lor 2 or a 'book' - I don't know what book she was referring to, and establishing that I have been extending my non-imm O, married to Thai visa for 16 years and have been married 21, my application is now in processing with the standard "come back and check in a month". This was Chonburi (Pattaya) Immigration.

What URL, please.
let me look online bookingsair asia from CM to KL 3400bht inc tomorrow morning, 2900 on June 3rd, 2000bht June 4th, etc.
air asia BKK to KL 1500bht June 8th, June 2nd, etc .......

But a non Imm O to visit a friend cannot, is that right?
Non Imm O Visa Multi Entry can be got in KL . Proof of marriage and at least 100,000 Baht in the bank needed. -
Wow! Can you do that online?
Actually I just booked flights from BKK to KL with Air Asia for 975 Baht return.Admittedly for next March in the recent free seats promotion.
With Air Asia you have to plan ahead.
-
You can get a 1 year non-imm O in KL? I thought that was not possible.
And flights at > bht 3,000? I was just looking online and the cheapest I found was US$ 214 1-way. Who has the bht 3,000 flight?
Thanks.
I am currently on a Retirement Visa extension and have to show 800,000 baht I would like to know if it is possible to change this Visa to a Marriage Visa then I would only need 400,000 in the bank.I have been married for 4 years. My extension runs out in December and I am from the UK.I am currently in the process of doing this, at the moment under my second 30 day consideration period (sorry paperwork not done yet)
If I were to do it again I would fly over to Kuala Lumpar and get a 1 year multiple entry non immigrant o visa (lasts for 15 months but border run every 90 days) to visit wife. You only need to show 100kbht in bank account. Take a letter in Thai from the wife asking them to give you a visa plus usual paperwork. Flight only 3000bht each way (or less).

Thank you. That is an interesting choice of words. I do believe I see something between the lines.
In general, immigration seems to be very relaxed, as long as you are too. -
Thanks. I am not currently in this situation.
Is this your situation? Or just curious? -
Overstay questions.
- As far as the BiB are concerned, is there any difference between a week's overstay and a year's overstay?
- If they throw you in jail, how are you supposed to organize buying a ticket out of the country, collecting your personal effects, etc?
- And a corollary to that - what happens if you get arrested (for overstay only) up country and taken to Bangkok? Do they give you any opportunity to collect your ID's, credit cards, etc?
Thanks.

I'm specifically interested in the Bangkok khet offices. Any reason to think they will not be open on Monday, the 24th?
Thanks.
-
That is Bangkok. Sorry to have to ask this but the wife is kind of an airhead. Which office would that be?
Thank you very much.
If it is not on-line you will most likely have to visit the office you were married. -
Thanks a lot - great to have you here.
Normally you can authorize someone to do it for you. Make a declaration in which you authorize a person which you name with ID card and have your wife sign it and attach a copy of her ID card to it. Of course it has to be in Thai. Call the amphur to check to be sure. -
Lopburi, do you know if someone else - lawyer, notary, even friend can do it?
If it is not on-line you will most likely have to visit the office you were married. -
I will be coming from the south - Sattahip. I was really surprised tonight when I went to Lotus and they said they would close at 5:00 PM for 3 days. I mean, this is one place I would not expect the Red Shirts to show up - 95% of the population here must be military and their families.
It depends where you are coming from. There are big problems in Sri Racha today, the Red shirts were surrounding ThaiOil at Laemchabang yesterday.Last night here all 7-11 shops and Family Marts, plus all the bars were closed. Today I drove into Pattaya, very strange driving with a lack of traffic.
Perhaps someone could post what is happening in Soi 5 Jomtien near immigration.
-
Has anyone actually ordered one, 'cause we have been married 20 years and the record is not on-line. The civil servants at Pattaya Amphur were of no help, and made vague references to having to go to Bangkok to get it ourselves.
-
I don't live in Pattaya but have to go for a non-imm O extension there very soon - probably tomorrow, May 21st, or early next week. Are there any problems there, like demonstrations, and will they be open on the days I mentioned?
Thanks.
-
I think we are talking about the same type of account - what you call fixed deposit. The passbook says "time deposit passbook". Is that what you mean?
-
I saw some other post from I think Chiang Mai where a guy said he had a problem because his 400K was in a deposit bearing account. Didn't make sense to me, but anyway, I have to go for my non-imm 0 extension in Pattaya soon, and the money is in a 3 month term deposit. Been there almost 3 months and this is not my first renewal. Is that going to be a problem?
-
The note is that they must be printed on front and back of one A4 sheet.
Thanks, guys.
-
OK - the preview does not work perhaps that is what the broken link message is about. There is a note here somewhere saying don't print two page forms on the front and back of one piece of paper, but that is how it is at the Imm. Office, as I recall. Does it matter - I mean will they be annoyed if it is on two pages?
2% Court Deposit
in Family and Children

I dunno if this or the real estate forum is a better place for this but the 2% court fee or deposit - hopefully I will get it back - is it usually paid to the lawyer or by a bank draft or something direct to the court?
Thanks.
