We used to be rightly proud that here in the UK the judiciary was independent of the executive.
We used to be until we joined the eu.

I wonder how long before future government's, right, left or religious fundamentalist will use it against their political opponents/non believers.
Non believers?do you mean infidels? A chilling prediction to be sure.

Comprehension not your thing then.
When have I ever said I ‘wish to see her unleashed into society’?
Here is a clue, I haven’t.
My position is she should be tried for her crimes in an open English court before a jury of her peers.
Retract your unfounded accusation or hang your head in shame.
Was referring to your actions and possible consequences, not your words,i never said you wished to see her unleashed into society,i asked you a question, this trying to put words into peoples mouths is getting rather tiresome.

@kingdong, all your laugh emoji shows is your inability to even attempt any justification of your remarks.
No,the emoji shows my opinion regarding your query,if you cannot understand i would be clearly flogging a dead horse trying to explain again, will not be responding to any other requests of this nature.

What support for her acts has been shown here; either by word or deed?
1 hour ago, Chomper Higgot said:Putting aside your repeated sensitivities, you clearly do not understating that her case remains ‘current’ while ever there remains a path to appeal.
The highest court in the land has made its decision if you havent noticed.also i,m not a word nazi but can,t make any sense of your post, "you clearly.do not understating that her case" ?

Who here has said that they "wish to see her unleashed into society?"
No one has to, their actions and support for a traitor to her country do that.

Britain played a pivotal roll in putting an end to the last European regime to engage in collective punishment, but here you are advocating for its reintroduction.
Hang your head in shame.
And i watched her interview in syria some time ago,no remorse about what she,d done, bragging about how observing a dustbin full of human heads had made her a "stronger person" and you wish to see her unleashed into society? Hang your head in shame.

The highest court in the land has made its decision so how can the case be current?shes not a british citizen anymore period.so anyone who dosen,t agree with your views is an "alt right racist "? ( do you mean all right? ),

Her case has absolutely nothing to do with EU membership.
She retains the right to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights and almost certainly will do.
Well we,re out the eu,might as well leave the european court of human rights if they want to start interfering in the uks affairs and justice system not worth a carrot to law abiding people.

The silly cow should have been lined up against a wall and shot as a traitor years ago.
But then again all the lefty lawyers wouldn't have made millions from taxpayer money defending her.
Put up against a wall and shot?bit harsh,an obe would have sufficed.

Not sure, but the lawyers could tie it up for years. In the mean time she could be in jail,or on benefits. In some cases especially on citizens rights the ECJ reign supreme.
Sounds expensive, still we,re out the eu now,so can make our own decisions and laws.

The European courts of justice is the supreme court for members of the EU.As she's not actually a citizen of the EU? Would she even get there? (She has the right to Bangladesh citizenship) If she did get to the ECJ it's not a given that they would come down on her side. The European courts of human rights also exists and the UK is signed up to that,it's not a EU institution. They both get a bad rap in the UK press because they are slow and the lawyers tie cases up for years with appeals and technicalities, usually about extraditions.
Think she applied for bangladeshi citizenship and got the spanish archer,as for your first comment re european courts of justice,if uk had still been members of the eu could the european court of justice have overuled the british court decision?
-
Don,t know about the legal side of this but would she have had more rights of appeal if U.K. Had still been members of the eu?

This raises a very important issue, dealt with in magna carta:
The removal of citizenship and banishment of an individual for views/actions that are deemed unacceptable by the crown/executive.
I make no defense of her actions, but stripping people of their nationality and banishment was frequently used prior to magna carta and for hundreds of years England and the UK had no use of stripping people of citizenship and banishment, relying rather on criminal justice before juries of the accused’s peer.
Now think of the hundreds of years to come, how British society might change and what ideas or actions might warrant stripping an individual of their citizenship and bannishment?!
This young woman should be subjected to the process of criminal justice, and should not be used as a precedent for stripping people of their most basic rights.
If left standing this precedent will be used against people fighting for the very rights and values Britain is founded on.
Were not the british convicts transported to botany bay revoked of their british.residency and consequent citenizenship?,she lost her "basic rights" by not adhering to the laws of the land

Which is exactly what is happening now. Made no sense for her to return before her right to citizenship was decided. However there was no legal justification to remove her citizenship in the first place.
She lost her citizenship due to legisation passed by the british government to protect british citizens( the law abiding variety) its just came through on the news the decision has been upheld, perhaps it,ll serve as a lesson to any other aspiring terrorist.

You hit it on the headthailand as a holiday resort is not cheaper than a !ot of european resorts, the only thing its got going for it is the " nightlife " i.e prostitution.

Great plan Harry, because in the modern world of social media, a change of address from London to LA and a multi million dollar Netflix deal combined with an Oprah interview is guaranteed to give you the privacy you crave.
I have no issue with him dumping his family, military titles and responsibilities for coin and poonanny but drop the victimisation story Bro.
I,d give his marriage of convenience( for her) 3 years, its another prince andrew and fergie, seems she thought she could march into the institute of the royal family ( not that i,ve got much respect for them) and do exactly as she wanted.however.harry did deserve his military awards earnt by serving his country.

27th January 2021: Review of UK workers' rights post-Brexit is axed in sudden U-turn
But tell us, whilst not all of them are a direct result of our previous EU membership, which employee rights, such as the examples listed on this UK government page, do you want to do away with?
See.above post and try getting out and about a bit more.

In my opinion, the race is on between Thailand and Vietnam for the first of the two to open up, safely.
Should Vietnam be first, than that will be a huge loss to Thailand.
Wouldnt consider thailand unless vietnam was open.
