How wonderfully re-assuring.
The farang is held at a location where the authorities know there was a cluster. Was he told of this, I doubt it ? How big was the cluster ? Would he have been able to get moved to another site for security ? No way.
Now 3 weeks until open day. No mention of whether gyms and bars will be open, or whether you can get a glass of wine with your meal. I bet the booking sites are overwhelmd with the tsunami of tourists clammering to get here and enjoy the rainy season. Bookings could well be into double figures as I speak.Which "Farang" are you talking about?
Sounds like you are from the "I moved to Thailand voluntarily and I am persecuted because I am white" crowd.
Get over it.

what are the symptoms of the mexican strain?
asking for a friend ...Sorry about the slow reply, I haven't been able to post.
About a day or two after getting it it hurts when urinating.
And girls will have a sore and inflamed throat and be very angry.

I am willing to bet they will leave Thailand.
I would be amazed if they didn't pay some under the table to get bail.
I have seen it before twice, coincidentally both were from the USA facing jailable offences, and both escaped.
One was a quite infamous Noisy "fake lawyer/publisher" in Pattaya that some of the old-timers would know.
I predict the Americans will "escape" which will result in the two Thai coppers either blaming the "escapees" fully or the court throwing the case out because of lack of witnesses.

between covid19 and this mexican strain of gonorrhea the level of fun in this world has definitely gone down.
never heard of getting gonorrhea from a blowie before
Give me covid over the Mexican strain anyday.
My brother had covid all he got was sympathy. When I had the Mexican strain and passed in on unknowningly everyone got angry, upset and two cut ties altogether and still don't speak to me.
I reckon covid closing the Pattaya bj bars, Soi 6 etc etc was a blessing in disguise. If it had of got a hold there there would have been queues a mile long at every clinic and divorce lawyers offices.

Nice post.....I was beginning to think most everyone had caught a new strain of smedlyitis or is it thaivisaitis.
I think the word is complaininitis.
They are consistent though, day after day, and whether is is good news or bad news doesn't make the slightest difference.
It might be a chemical imbalance in the brain?

Of course. I understand that and agree with it.
Maybe you do t understand that tourists night not want to go on holiday to Phuket if they can't socialise? ????
It is aimed at couples and to a lesser extent families.
Last thing we want is the drunk monger crowd who are too hard to control when drunk and often make bad decisions.
A soft reopening is a sensible solution, see how it goes, iron out any issues and then expand it.
You have to remember that they planned this before the deadly third UK Alpha B117 strain third wave got out of hand so they have had to par it back as a result.
I wish them the best of luck, it won't be easy.

Good plan to tide people over until this B117 Alpha wave passes.
They are already doing it for housing and business loans.
Clever compromise.

don't think she will play up, she loaths Thai men
Oh, I got it wrong. I thought she had children with Thai men before she met her White Knight George.
Bargirls always say that though, it is a bit of a cliche.
"Thai man no good" says the girl working as a, well, you know. The irony makes me laugh.
My advice to next time you cheat on her is to wait 4 days after before you put your penis in her.
If you have the Mexican strain you will feel it when you <deleted> 2-3 days after. If on day 4 you are normal you should be right to go.
If you do give it to her the old "put the medicine in her drink/food truck" won't work. Because with this <deleted> strain you need to take the antibiotics and get a needle of something on the first day.
Good luck with that

How lucky we are to be living in Thailand.
With 90%+ plus of infections here being the highly contagious UK Alpha B117 English mutant strain I hope it is effective and remains effective against it.
Our embassies won't care for us. Thank Christ for the Thais.
Perhaps they could send some to Australia. We don't have enough there and are in the fourth lockdown that has just been extended by at least another week.
Finally we have a light at the end of the tunnel now.

Also the restrictions currently say I can't even go to visit friends for a meal or to socialise
That's right. It is called social distancing. It is one of the measures taken to stop the covid pandemic recommended by virologists.
It is very effective.

Daily complaints coming from whoever rights these stories for the Phuket News.
Loaded headlines like "farangs get leftovers" and the one above.
He seems to have a great sense of entitlement and has the belief he should be looked after before Thai citizens, while ignoring the fact that Phuket is doing the best job of all the provinces, especially since the English B117 virus arrived.
Classic example of someone acting like a spoilt child who needs to pull his head in, wait his turn, harden up and is a prime candidate for some attitude adjustment.
Does he have covid? Have any of his family or friends contracted covid on Phuket? They are working vaccinating the population in a sensible matter according to risk. If he doesn't like it he should go back to his own covid ravaged country.

If after living many years where you are and you still don't know where they are it might be time to find out.
Ask a friend. Of just look for the big signs out the front of them all.
If that fails call your embassy and see if they will show you.
Hope that helps.

Good work, certainly Aussies are better looked after by the Pattaya local council than they are by the Federal government back home with a much higher rate of vaccinations.
Of course there will be people complaining on this forum, because that is what they do.
The Thais have also kindly extended the visas for us who can't return back such as us Aussies whose PM has effectively locked out tens of thousands of us in an sneaky attempt to win the next election.
I am very grateful for the way Thailand has accommodated us during this pandemic, especially during this B117 wave. They have a lot on their plates, nice to see we haven't been forgotten.
Nice people the Thais.

There are many ways to deliver same message.
I do not know if it’s reporters choice of words or actual words of authorities but it sounds as if feeding leftover food to a street dog.
final result is the same no matter what words one uses , but I wonder why send the message in this way, not in a more nicer, welcoming way
The writer at the Phuket News who wrote it has form.
He sounds like one of those self entitled people you often come across in Patong and Pattaya.
Those who marry hookers and then take the moral high ground. Strange people

Well...let us all know how your holiday goes. If it works out as true and the bars and everything else is ope , the I will also go there.
But I don't want to go if it's going to be a ghost town and all the shops and bars shut up.
If you mean the hooker bars for western men I doubt they would be open as that wouldn't be a good idea covid wise.
And I don't real care about shopping.
I will let you know.

Sounds like an invite.
As worrying as it is, never had a condom on for a BJ and of course continue to take my chances, might drown it in alcohol afterwards though, just to make sure I don't catch anything. If I ever did catch anything, I could always blame it on the wife oi.
Well George, looks like you are exposed like everyone else.
But doubt you have much to worry about being with the same woman for 15 years. Unless she plays up with one of her old boyfriends up there you should be right.

It is like a raffle. Luck of the draw.
The more tickets you have the bigger chances of winning it, but the bloke with just one ticket can also beat the man with 1,000 tickets.

never heard of Mexican Gonorrhea Superstrain before but just did a google on it. if you can get if from blow uncovered jobs i am screwed.
could understand getting it from bar girls but no the hiso ones. does anyone in thailand use condoms?
Yes that is how you get it, uncovered blowies. I had never heard of it either until it was too late.
And that is also how you pass it on.
I had a six long month drama from when it started to when everyone was finally cleared up of it. Superspreader event.
There are loso bargirls 4%, hiso about 2% but the vast majority are soso 94%. Just normal working class.
Condoms are not used that much in my experience for soso and hiso and never for blowies.
I am sure @4MyEgo will let you know all his experiences in the P4P scene.

Looks like the Thais are fairly resilient to the Wuhan and Indian strains.
It is the English strain that has caused 90% of the deaths and most of the cases.
I wonder if it is diet, genetics or something else?
