Thailand reports 136 new COVID-19 cases as new infection rate slows

People have their temperatures checked amid concerns over the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus at the immigration post in Myawaddy near the Thai border on March 23, 2020, as thousands of people crossed from Thailand as the border crossings were due to close because of the growing pandemic. – Tens of thousands of migrant labourers from Laos and Myanmar flooded bus stations and border crossings in Thailand on March 23, defying requests to stay put to prevent exporting infections of the deadly coronavirus. The rise rate of new COVID-19 infections in Thailand has slowed down over the past three days, from 143 on Sunday to 136 on Monday and 127 today. Medical experts have, however, cautioned that the continuing rise, albeit slower, remains of concern because the contagion has now spread to 61 of the country’s 76 provinces.

Dr. Thaveesilp Wissanuyothing, at the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), said today that the latest new infections bring the total in Thailand to 1,651, and the death toll has risen by one to 10.

He said that Bangkok is still the epicentre of the pandemic in the country, with 869 confirmed cases, followed by Nonthaburi with 79 and 56 in Phuket.

Regarding the boxing stadium and entertainment venue clusters, Dr. Thaveesilp said that rate of new infections from the two clusters is slowing, after the virus’s 14-day incubation period, “but there are still risks posed by an increasing number of Thais returning from abroad.”

He made clear that no harsher measures would need to be imposed if the public cooperate fully, by strictly observing and complying with the preventive measures already announced.

For work places which are still operating, Dr. Thaveesilp said the Government has sought cooperation from these businesses, by allowing their employees to work from home or take leave to reduce the risk of exposure to the virus.

According to the CCSA, 15 locations around the country with high infection rates are:

    • Bangkok 795 cases
    • Nonthaburi  79 cases
    • Phuket  55 cases
    • Yala  48 cases
    • Samut Prakan  41 cases
    • Chon Buri  40 cases
    • Pattani  33 cases
    • Songkhla  30 cases
    • Chiang Mai  22 cases
    • Pathum Thani  17 cases
    • Ubon Ratchathani  13 cases
    • Surat Thani 11 cases
    • Nakhon Ratchasima  11 cases
    • Buri Ram Surin 10 cases
    • Nakhon Pathom  10 cases
    • Kanchanaburi    9 cases
    • Samut Sakhon    9 cases

  2. OP, you could have Hepatitis A, B, C, D, E, F,or G or no idea how many types there are right now.

Dangerous when your pee looks like beer. Go and see a good doctor.

    • There are several types of hepatitis viruses including types A, B, C, D, E, and possibly G. Types A, B, and C are the most common.
    • All hepatitis viruses can cause acute hepatitis.
    • Viral hepatitis types B and C can cause chronic hepatitis.
    • Symptoms of acute viral hepatitis include fatigue, flu-like symptoms, dark urine, light-colored stools, fever, and jaundice; however, acute viral hepatitis may occur with minimal symptoms that go unrecognized. Rarely, acute viral hepatitis causes fulminant hepatic failure.

    Well 127 today, obviously ????

And of course, it's got nothing to do with the bar workers who went home.

I've seen how the local hospital is trying to fight the disease. They're not doing enough, in my opinion.

I've seen hospital employees shooting photos standing next to each other. None of them wearing a mask or gloves.

And that's only to post that on Social media?

And they do not have rooms to separate all the infectious diseases.

That, on the other hand, seems to be the right mixture for the total chaos shortly.

Cap this animal? she is a human being with serious mental health issues, sure it is horrible what happened, but we can't all be as obviously stable as you, your solution sounds very like the Germans did with their mentally ill during ww2 ,so is that the way we should be going Khwaibah, maybe we should get back to the good old days ,huh, lobotomys ,or gassing?

The Germans with their mentally ill? Racism at its finest.

    Thanks! ????

Would you say it could help getting someone to do this for them? Or is it better that they get help to get all papers 100% as they should, and then do it in person...

IMO, it's better to go there in person. Of course well dressed and well mannered.

A wai to say sorry, perhaps one had some health issues and couldn't leave the house?
